kinda funny story...to me at least...

some guy was selling it at a local store. they would've given him 30 for it. i saw it in his bag while he was in line and i asked him if i could buy it off him for 35. he said nah man...they go for like 60 on ebay. so i said...oh...oh well then. i walked out the door only to have him chase me on the way out and say ok ok...you've got yourself a deal man. so i got it for 35 :)

I posted it there for shits 'n giggles, but I posted it on CAG first for reactions and knew most CAGs wouldn't go for it at that price unless it was guaranteed to be complete (even then...). I post gaming news/deals on CAG first before Slickdeals - and I stay off Fatwallet.
 
This is an excellent game and worth the money. It'll last you longer than the newest flash in the pan 360 game for $60.

same thing happened to me. only it was the ps2 verison. I was behind some guy trading a bunch of games in. I got MVC2 and FF7(black label) off him for 40something bucks. Funny thing was I offered him a dollar more for each game:D

although the game was unbalanced as fuck (at most tourneys all you see are magnetos and storms), this game is/was extremely popular. character selection alone will get most people. playing as your favorite super hero/video game character, etc, kinda like brawl

i think cheapy mentioned in one of the cagcasts that if brawl wasnt made up of all these already popular characters, the game wouldnt be as popular. this applies to this game too

It's rare because it can't be reprinted due to license issues (more accurately: lack of license issues).

Yea, I still regret selling my NES and Genesis games in a yard sale to get a Playstation. Should have just mowed a few more lawns instead :dunce: . My sega was broken, but I had a nifty collection of games. I still have a few games left, but no systems to play them on. Emulators FTW!!

Hopefully, we will see MvC2 HD Remix on Live/PSN someday. One can only hope.
 
i love how all these rare games that are now expensive as hell people LOST..lol. I've never lost a game before...i keep a very meticulous watch over them...have ever since i was a kid (mainly cuz i bought almost all of them with my own money so i placed a great deal of sentimental value in all of em)..I had a friend who lost FFVII (the NON-greatest hits one) and I felt VERY bad for him cuz that sh*t goes for $120+ on ebay! and of course i still have my copy in mint condition and will never sell it cuz it practically WAS My childhood...but i notice this trend with VS. games...i sold off my Capcom vs. SNK Mark of the Millennium for PS2 for like $50 o_O and i don't know why...
 
I'd want to get this just so I can beat up people with Jill... But alas, I am not willing to pay that much for such a pleasure. Now, if I can manage to finagle an arcade cabinet, I'll pay for THAT!

I'm helping to set up a new store and we unloaded the inventory and saw one with no case/manual. Had some disc doctor type marks on it too. Bleh.

I saw a complete version at my local GS when the 25% of used XBOX/PS2/GC coupon was out and still could not justify it.
