Mass Effect 2 $19.97 Well worth $20.

Looking like this is going to be the price point soon. I started playing mine that I got from TRU, but I'm thinking about getting my ME1 from a friend back and playing that first. It doesn't feel right starting in the middle of the story.

I would recommend playing the first ME before jumping into this one, the story is awesome (better than ME2 imo) and you'll likely end up appreciating the second game more as a result. You can skip the side missions, though.

You'll be better off playing Mass Effect 1 first, since it will be very hard to go back to it after ME2. The presentation and gameplay mechanics are superior in ME2 and after playing it, it will make ME1 seem like a giant step backwards. Not that ME1 is a bad game (far from it actually), it's just that ME2 improves on almost everything from ME1. Plus you'll appreciate the story more, including the consequences of your actions from the first game, once you import your ME1 character into ME2.

FYI, it's also $20 at Toysrus as per the other thread. I also saw in Toysrus, the Collector's Edition is now $40.

I just jumped straight to ME2 and didn't feel like I was missing out that much.
