Mass Effect 2 (PS3) $29.17 on the EA store
Same, Prime would save me the $6.99 shipping from EA
Yeah, it would be nice if they offer free shipping. This is a pretty good price though. Im tempted even though ive played through this game 3 times on the 360.
Not bad, considering it comes with all DLC.
It doesn't exactly come with all the DLC. It's missing the skins, weapons, and armor DLC packs.
how much does it cost to be a prime member on amazon?
$79 a year.

Yeah still way too expensive. The 360 version is still much cheaper. Until this is under $20, it's not really worth it.

Well worth it if you don't own a 360. The 360 version doesn't include $30 worth of premium DLC, the PS3 version does. Also the PS3 version was released a month ago so getting it for $25 less than elsewhere a month after release might be a big deal for some.

What's even dumber is the fact they released this before the final DLC pack that comes out this month. Why not just wait a few more months and put it all in there is beyond me.

It's free if you have access to an *.edu email

Or as an 'Amazon Mom' it's free for the first 3 months...easy way for a guaranteed 3-month trial...you can extend it though. "For each $25 you spend within a single order in the Baby store, we’ll grant you an additional month of Amazon Prime shipping benefits. You can earn up to one year from the date you joined Amazon Mom."

Not... really. The Kasumi is $8, Overlord is $8, Shadow Broker is $10. Then there's the actual game itself. If you want all you can get out of this game by going with the Xbox version, it'll come out way more expensive. The cheapest I've seen it is $16 (as of now) so you'd be paying like $42.

The content itself justifies the purchase. And how in the WORLD is a GOTY from 2010 that just released on the PS3 a few months ago not worth the $59.99 price tag anyway??

There has got to be a GOTY version coming at some point.

Who cares about cosmetic DLC? It's always amazed me that people pay for that kind of thing... especially for SP games.

Good price for a great game, did two play throughs the week I got it.
There has got to be a GOTY version coming at some point.
for 360 for sure, ps3 I'm not too sure on. If they feel they can make money though they'll make one.

If Amazon price matches I am definitely picking this up. As a PS3 user, I've been wanting to check out the Mass Effect games, but couldn't justify paying nearly $60.
Who cares about cosmetic DLC? At the same time I can see how it might appeal to someone who has spent 100+ hours replaying ME2 over and over. Spending a few bucks to change things up a little in the game might be worth it to them.

I guess im in the miniority on this. I for one cant understand why people buy map packs and such when there is no real change.

Good price but still have this game unopened when I bought it on release day for the 360. Would buy but s&h and a huge backlog that won't be done until end of the year. Just finished Bulletstorm, Homefront, and Killzone 3 and moving on to MvsC3.

Dlc or mappacks is an extension of the game that you already love/like.

It also supports the devs for further development/sequels

How do you determine your backlog?
You have a game like Mass Effect sitting around since release but you pick up and beat games like Homefront and Killzone shortly after release while huge critically acclaimed games sit unopened?

Why do you buy games at full price and then never open them?

Yeah because the ability to make more money is a bad thing. The PS3 version clearly isn't going to sell as much as the 360 version did so they need some sort of additional revenue from that. Including all the DLC packs with the PS3 version wouldn't make much sense.

Some people have waaay to much money to throw around I guess.

Also: I got ME2 for $12 through a gameshare on release day. It's by far the cheapest option right now, and probably for some time to come. Eventually I do plan to get the disc version as I love the game, but for those that don't "need" a phsyical copy, gamesharing is the way to go.

Looks like the promo price doesn't allow my coupon code to be used. Too bad, would've bit for ~$20.

Anyways, $36 is still a fucking great price for the game + DLC. In my case, since I already have the 360 version w/ DLC, I can hold off.

Sony has a rule that a publisher can't release a recycled title on the PS3 unless it has some sort of exclusive content, in this case the Dark Horse interactive comic. The release never hinged on the release of Arrival.

Did the original Lost Planet getting any additional content for the PS3? That came out a year after the 360 version.

Yeah this game is great. I just finished my Normal (Yeah, I know Normal isn't very hard) playthrough this morning. All of my team survived. It's one of the greatest games I've played this year. It has a really great story as well.

I have no idea where you heard that from, but I'm pretty sure there's no such rule.

I highly doubt the interactive comic had anything to do with Sony, but more to do with filling in PS3 owners on the first game and allowing them to make some of the critical decisions from it. It was a solution to thwart the fact thet the first game couldn't make it to the PS3. It wasn't done just to make sure the PS3 version has something exclusive, that's silly.

Definitely is not true.

good deal on the ps3 version considering it came out 2 months ago. and you do get most of the dlc with it which makes it a better value than buying PC/360 versions at $20

too bad it's not going to have the final substantive dlc, "The Arrival."

If EA was a classy company they would give that dlc to PS3 owners for free for having to wait a year to get ME2. They already made money by selling timed exclusivity to MS. But then again EA isn't classy so of course that's not happening.

Such an amazing game, the entire climax/suicide mission is one of the most intense portions of gaming ive ever played.

And if they were a super classy company, they would just give the entire game and all DLC away for free to everyone. But hey, companies need to make money so that is just silly. ME2 is already an insane deal as is and doesn't need any extra DLC. The option for more DLC is just icing on the cake.

Classy? Taking your date to Mickey D is classy.

*on note, shipping kinda killed the deal imo.

But otherwise it's superb

This should have been $40 on release day. Not saying the game isn't worth $60, because it is. I got it day one for 360 and beat it in 3-4 days. However, how can they justify only putting $24 worth of DLC on a game that is $20 MSRP on the competing system and charge $60 for it. I support EA as they have made huge strides in the industry over the past few years, but this is a little ridiculous. Oh well, I'll continue playing Mass Effect on the 360.

Xbox isn't my preferred system and play a lot of multiplayer with my friends on the PS3. So next game on my list is Crysis 2 :)

Because they will get the 360 and people and ps3 to buy it, it doesnt take a brainiac to figure that one out. What you think they would do something thats a value to the customer over making money?
