Max Payne 2 and Ninja Gaiden on the cheap!! (Blockbuster and Gamecrazy)

OK, this was a great deal for me today...

Walked into Blockbuster and they are having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on used games. Well Max Payne 2 is 19.99 -- so I picked up 3 for 43.06 ... Then I took the two copies I didn't want over to gamecrazy and they gave me 27.50 for each of them... so then I used the remainder to pickup a new Ninja Gaiden.

I'm sure you could snag any other new release as well!!!

Effective Max Payne 2 and Ninja Gaiden for 21.53 each.

Come on folks . . . buying up all the cheap copies of a game takes them out of circulation for gamers. I can certainly see doing "some" of this . . . have done it myself. But don't get greedy. Of course, this same message applies to most of the deals here. The jerk who used the EBGames loophole 38 times in a few days . . . thanks alot.

I just think we need to look out for other gamers. No need to be greedy bastards. I picked up a couple of 1cent player's guides at Best Buy yesterday--great tip I got here. I could sell them for 50cents at Gamestop. Ooooo, maybe I should go back and buy them all!!! . . . NO! I'd rather let other gamers get the cool deal and the great feeling of a 1 cent guide.
 
I understand what you are saying schultzed. I mean, like the earlier post. 15 copies? Thats nearly $400 in credit. He must really like videogames...
 
In my own defense, there are still at least another 15 copies of MP2 left at my BB. I would never hog them all, I'm all for spreading great deals and letting everyone get to them. That's why I keep bringing back up this topic. And this deal isn't going to last forever, so everyone should jump on it as soon as possible. And yes, Dustin Echoes, I really like videogames.
 
Deals over. We dropped the trade-in price to $20....once we get more then 4 copies its less. We have 19 used ps2 ones, so we pay $6 right now for them.
 
I just checked my local Game Crazy. They pay $25 for each Max Payne. I even asked if I could come back and sell 3 of them. He said I could as long as they aren't scratched up.

I'm heading to BB right now, because they have about 12 copies of Max Payne (I'm only getting 3 though).


:?: Is it ok to return these with the stickers on CD?

No you don't need the membership card to buy their games.
 
I just got back from Game Crazy not too long ago. I exchanged 3 copies of Max Payne 2 for PS2 for a total of $75 credit. I got the MVP membership though, so my credit dropped to $62. I picked up Splinter Cell:pT and had $8 credit left over. I may do this again to get some other games.
 
It's not over, you just gotta find a BB and/or Gamecrazy willing to deal - I just did this deal today (12/27/04)

12 copies of MP2 -> $330 of instore credit at 27.50

Exchanged for a used Xbox, new gameboy SP, Xbox Knights of the Old Republic, GBA Shining Soul, partial paid reserve for halo2, paid MVP card membership bypassing taxes (I didn't get Gaiden since my friend's cousin already has it and will let me borrow it after he's done...which will be about 1 more week or 2)

I did this w/ 2 other friends:

Friend1: 16 copies of MP2 -> $440 instore credit at 27.50

Exchanged for a used Xbox, new GBA SP, Viewtiful Joe, Fatal Frame 2, MVP membership, 1 yr warranty on GBA (unnecessary IMO), $96 and some change left in credit

Friend2: 6 games -> $165 instore credit at 27.50

ESPN or NCAA MVP basketball 2k4 (can't remember now, we did it in the morning and it's 3Am now), GBA Sword of Mana, $54 and some change left in credit

And to the person commenting about other gamers getting the deal: if they're here on CAG then they already know about the deal so it's up to them to make an effort to go out and close the deal. Also, FYI, everytime I got weird looks at the 3 different BB's or ppl got curious, I told them the truth: I found a deal online and told them how to do it as well. And so everyone does the deal as well. So I don't think I'm taking away from anyone's deal. I told people how they can take advantage of a good deal within legitimate confines. Even one BB manager said he needed to get in on the deal himself and said he was gonna do this right after he got off work. Not flaming you, just pointing out that I don't think getting many copies don't constitute being greedy. If I had not informed these people then they're the ones missing out because for whatever reason, they don't know about CAG and would have missed the deal anyway.
 
woo just went to the blockbuster they had like 13 copies picked up three for $43 went to Gamecrazy got $75 credit and bought pandora

I got 3 PS2 versions and they all had security stickers on the cd. Is the Xbox version not supposed to have the sticker?
 
Went to BB and they had like 9 copies. I took 3 to game crazy, but the guy was like, we only take one copy per person. But as I was standing there thinking about what I wanted to do he was like, actually this is a game we need. He said that if id trade in all 3, and get the MVP membership thing, hed give me the $7.50 i get extra for the membership and also there was a gbc that he hadnt entered into the system yet, so hed give me the $7.50 credit for that too.

In all I got the $20 membership, some free rental coupons from hollywood, and $70 credit for $43.

Actually, its been dead. I went over to BB on the 30th to get some more max paynes, and the guy was like its the last day for the buy 2 get 1 free deal.
 
I got very lucky on friday, the new price had dropped to $30, but the computer still showed 27.50 credit for Max Payne 2, I got rid of my last copy. The guy said it would probably be around $12 credit after that.

Keep in mind, MAX PAYNE 2 DROPPED. Some stores may have NOT changed the price on the used and new games. So even if they show it seling for $41.99 used, it will only nab you $12.50 (or less depending if you pulled this trick on them before) for trade-in credit.

Yeah, I think the guy at BB was just trying to get me to buy something. I went there at 1130, trying to decide if I wanted to try this deal thing for a second time, and the guy was like, the sale is only for another 30 mins.
