I was going to grab AC:R anyways with the coupon. Just having AC1 with it is a little bit nice bonus. Though I really did not like AC1. Love AC2 and still need to play through AC:B.
 
Went to my local BB, no copies with AC1 but it's alright since I still have a copy. Two different cashiers denied me the coupon price for AC:R and just kept saying "I can't I can't I can't..." and I'm like, I'm pretty sure it works, it's meant to be used at any time this month even on a sale.. But the second person didn't want to call a supervisor and I had to go to work so I'll go try again tomorrow. :(
Does anyone have any tips or a # I can call while at the store to teach my store how to properly do things? I swear it's the worst BB I've ever been to. Always have problems with pick ups, pre orders, sales, coupons, you name it.

you could have asked them to just scan the coupon and see if it works. if not, on the back of the coupon it says that it works with sale prices also. could have asked them to read the back of the coupon.

Also, the April 2012 issue (Prototype 2 cover) has a reader-submitted letter and response from the editor on page 5 that explicitly states " If a game is already discounted, the @Gamer coupon can be applied and should always be honored at the store". If you have this magazine, bring it and show it to them.

was it the south coast plaza one?
 
I was able to get Assassins Creed Revelations with Assassins Creed #1( look for the sticker) using the printed coupon linked from pinterest at the San Diego(Mission Valley) Best Buy for 9.99+tax.

I've never played this series yet so I'm glad I was able to get 2 of the 4 games for only 9.99.
Also ordered AC:Brotherhood from Newegg for 14.99 :D
 
That key ring app that had the coupons for $5 rage and mass effect 2 I believe for february? says that theres 3 offers., but they don't show on my phone. How bout anyone else?
 
Went in to price match my AC and got declined because "the coupon and the sale price don't stack". So I returned it, and picked up a brand new copy with AC1 and used the coupon to walk out the door for $11. I consider this $5 each, which is my purchase threshold...
 
Managed to get the last Revelations with AC1 at West Covina. If there are those still looking for one, the Best Buy in Chino Hills, CA had plenty to go around.

Sorry I didn't detail my post enough guys, but yeah this isn't the first time I've tried the things everyone suggested. I tried hard and did everything I could without being a douche and yes I did ask them to read and just try scanning the coupon and they wouldn't which is why I was asking for advice. I wouldn't just be like, "Oh you can't? Oh ok bye." I'm trying again in like an hour, I was just wondering if they definitely didn't want to after going in again if there's any # I could call to have them call the store to straighten out their knowledge on policies.. I don't have the April Mag either and I'm sure they won't care to find one just for me in the store (if they even had any old magazines). With me luck..

Lame. Buy the magazine. Magazine ad sales subsidize these prices. $15 for the AC1 bundled copy is still a great deal, or you could get the magazine (and more in the future!) free by upgrading to unlocked. The coupons included in the welcome kit (B2G1 preowned and B2G1 new under $40, which stacks with sales) more than offset the cost of the subscription. I re-sold all of the my B2G1 games and came out over $100 ahead.

The Best Buy cashiers should know not to accept print outs or scans of the coupons at this point, but the more the coupons are abused the less likely we are to see good ones in the future. It'll eventually all be junk like the $40 off NCAA.
 
FYI, the Utica store in SE Michigan has plenty (~5) of the special PS3 AC:R copies with the free AC1. Not exactly sure how rare those are, so just thought I'd throw it out there.

I had a similar issue as well and plan on going back in today to try again. The April magazine everyone was referring to does answer our question.
The magazine wrote " @gamer and best buy like to encourage "double-dipping". If a game is already discounted, the @gamer coupon can be applied and should always be honored at the store. Also coupons can't be used for @gamer/unlocked offers on games that are on sale but CAN'T be used with conditional offers like "buy 2, get the 3rd free".

Unless there is a good deal of the day to stack the ninja gaiden coupon with tommorow i think Its time to throw the coupons out. I pretty much knew that the ass creed one was the only one that would be used anyway

How bad would it be to have to jump thru more hoops & then get the $15 sub, try to cheat the system with the key ring & they effectively "cancel" your sub. Meaning each time you want to get in on a deal(you'd be required to have your RZ card scanned to even get the PC to allow the coupon) & then the system tacks on $15 EVERYTIME from that point forward & you still get NO SUB.

Bottom line pay the $5/$15 & hope BB keeps stuff the same b/c the alternative will not make shoppers happy trust me.

With me luck..[/QUOTE]fill out the feedback section on the receipt from the store location, post on the BB forums page & look for the contact info of the store/general/regional managers on the billboards when you enter some stores(they may even have business cards near the registers or CS). The complaints go straight to corp. & are acted on repeat complaints will draw unwanted attention/meetings/postings that will also get suits to pay attention in a "bad way" for the store. They'll get it straight fast when this happens to avoid the headache.
 
Just got out of BB. Took a total of 4 min. in the store. Just went to get AC:R, found a hidden copy with AC1 and then I went to the registers at the front. A girl I hadn't seen edited assisted me and I simply stated I was getting the game, using the coupon in the magazine and she just simply said okay, did the transaction quickly and no odd looks or doubtful questions from her. After she finished I said thank you and quickly let her know a guy the day before wouldn't do that so she's already a better worker than he is and she says, "Some people are just fucking idiots. I'll let him know for sure, don't worry about it." I said it wasn't necessary (just to be nice) and she said she had to do it cause she doesn't want the store getting anymore negative complaints. I smiled and said thank you agai and walked out. Yayyyyyyy got it guys, thanks.

You can compliment her on the feedback section as well(do it since see can get raises based on these & you'll earn an ally in-store for future trips). She said they throw out all magazines at closing on the last night of every month. Anyone know if this is true of all stores? I've never used these magazine coupons before because this 2 hour trip is the closest I can get to a Best Buy.

Defintely not the case in my area's stores. In fact, at some point, they had a least 3 month's worth of back issues on a rack. Not sure why you'd want one but they should at least keep them through the coupon's expiration date.

I've called 3 stores in that area, 2 immediately said that the store disposed of them last night at closing and one said she would check (on the computer, I assume, since she didn't step away from the phone), and then told me that it didn't appear that they had any "currently in stock"?!? (...like they'd be getting more in. I got the feeling she wasn't entirely sure of what she was looking for.)

Exactly, By having friends in the store you can get great deals ! I can't count the amount of times bestbuy has broken the rules for me lmao

Picked up Assassin's Creed Rev with AC1 for $10 with no problems at all. I really want NCAA FB 12, but have a feeling BB will be fire selling them for $10 soon ala their recent Madden 12 sale. I've been enjoying the NCAA games a lot more than Madden the last few years, but I can hold out longer to save another $10.

LOL! Yesterday, whiles't picking up my copy of AC:R w/AC1, I noticed they had the last 6 mos of issues lined up in front of the Xbox games where they usually lay out the strategy guides.

YMMV, or you could always go dumpster diving.

My May magazine finally came yesterday and i was able to pick up Assassins Creed for .69 (i had a gift card)! :D

I hope my magazines actually start coming on time.

So I went to this Best Buy today (mentioned above) prepared to pay $29.99 for the AC:R with free AC1, but lo and behold, they had several copies of the magazine out on display where I've noticed them displayed before. So either the people I had talked to were clueless, or perhaps they're told to say that they have to dispose of them on the last night of the month (even though they do not)? Would there be any reasonable explanation for that?

When I purchased my unlocked gamers subscription at best buy the employee gave me the last 6 issues including the current one so I purchased ACR with the coupon. Didn't mind that my copy didn't have AC1 because Gamestop gave me a free copy of AC1 and AC2 when I returned a B2G1 free. Employee said oh you keeps these because it says 0 on the receipt.
 
My store roughly had twenty or more copies of Assassin's Creed Revelations. None of them had AC1 bundled, but it was for my dad anyways. Thanks again OP.
 
Had the wife grab three copies of AC Revelations PS3, two of which will be gifts for friends. All three had the original Assassin's Creed on the disc, so I'm feeling pretty lucky.
 
Stopped by Best Buy today to pickup two Dragon Age 2's (1 PS3, 1 Xbox) in preparation for next month's mag. I still saw a ton of Assassin's Creed Revelations and at least 9 PS3 copies with Assassin's Creed 1 on the disc.

I'll keep both Dragon Age 2's sealed and will return/rebuy them on the last possible date. Anyone have an idea which platform will have a sale on the DLC? Did the Dragon Age: Origins DLC ever go on sale? I'm leaning towards keeping the Xbox 360 copy since I've already beat the game on PS3.

Edit: I googled a bit and saw that XBL put the Dragon Age DLC on sale while PSN never gave a discount.

I haven't really been following these BBY-Unlocked threads since I signed up at the beginning of March, but how long did it take people to start receiving the 'welcome package' w/ the b2g1free & 50%-off guide coupons? Getting kind of antzy since it's been....3 months as of tomorrow. Is that on par for folks?

it took me about 1 month for the magazine, and almost 2 months for the b2g1free coupon packet
