If you plan on buying Castlevania SOTN for 400 MSP, don't bother.

400 MSP in Canada plus taxes equals $6.50.

It's better to buy the Konami Classic Volume 1 from Best Buy for $9.99 which gives you Castlevania SOTN, Frogger, and Super Contra.

Hopefully this is to celebrate an upcoming release of some Lords of Shadow DLC... I have been patiently waiting here.

Well you're in luck, Lords of Shadow: Reverie just came out! I heard it isn't worth it from my PS3 buddies who got it early.

Sweet! Maybe I'll wait for it to go on sale, way too much backlog to pay 800MSP for something to sit there.

I went that route cause I hate buying virtual content. I regretted it. The disc spins the ENTIRE time you're playing. It doesn't matter if you install it or anything, it's hella annoying.

I never tried the compilations, but when you say install, do you mean they have an install option for each game? or are you talking about the traditional full disc install that the 360 supports? I've never seen a disc spin after doing a full disc install, and since it's a system function, I'm surprised this one behaves differently.

Yeah, I'm talking about a full disc install. There are no other options. The games on the disc are the downloadable builds (they didn't bother restoring SotN's audio despite the ample space with this release), so I think the disc is just doing some security check the entire time

all dead rising 2 add on content is 50% off
case west 400 points
case zero 200 points
psycho skills pack 80 points
soldier skills pack 80 points
sorry no link got this from the dashboard

I know, I know. Still can't beat the value though.
is the DLC (extra stages) for Castlevania HoD worth it ?
I think the game itself is pretty terrible, so I don't know... if you like the game, I'd imagine having more content would be welcome, especially for a decent price.

I do like SotN, though...!
Castlevania HD is a rip off... even on sale. You're still paying like $40 for the whole game.
The game with all DLC at the sale price is 1360 points. a 1400 point card is $20 canadian.

So, outside of this sale, it's about $45+tax. The sale puts it at a hair under $20... it's a decent "deal" if you like the game and/or want more levels.

But overall, on the surface(I haven't played more than the demo, so I might be wrong), I agree, this really should be the regular price, or at the very least, the DLC packs should be much cheaper.

Castlevania HD is worth it if you're into it....it's not for everyone, but those saying it sucks just don't get it. (you could probably say that about almost any game, though)

It's the evolution of the Castlevania series - and it's welcome, IMO, as I couldn't bring myself to finish the last two Metroidvanias on DS (and i've started and re-started both games several times over). And I've been a huge Castlevania fan since the first game on the NES, owned and finished almost every game in the series, multiple times.

Those people who don't like to see a series change will be upset with HD and make up excuses for why they don't understand the game and enjoy it.

so tired of seeing Bioshock 2 and Borderlands stuff on sale...how many times can they discount these packs? Its not like they're even discounted further than their previous sale during the holidays. They're going for the exact same prices they've already been posted at

Yes! Just finished Bioshock 2 three weeks ago. I've heard great things about Minerva's Den, and I'll definitely pick it up. Is The Protector Trials worth getting at that price?

Well I bought Minerva's Den.

Not happy with the offerings however. They just re-hashed previous deals. We need to start seeing quality games being discounted like Beyond Good and Evil HD.
There's a new Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition coming June 28.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game Of The Year Edition
Collector's Edition Content (map, 'Making Of' DVD with an added Skyrim trailer)
A $10 Off Coupon (redeemable at any retailer, nationwide) for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I'm kinda sad I just bought it less then a month ago.
Oblivion was a trash game.

Bland, repetitive, everyone had the same voice, there were 5 characters in a city, too much text, animations were laughable, and each time I played it I had a weird, eerie feeling that somebody was watching me.

Boring.

You have to be super mega RPG hardcore to enjoy it.

Now see, I enjoyed it. I spent the first few hours just wandering and exploring, then I got into the game. As someone who used to play D&D with my friends before I moved too far away to play, this was a good replacement.

Mind you, I've rarely touched it since I've beaten it a couple times (with different character builds). So I might be trading it in towards Alice.

I wish I could have loved Oblivion but the busted leveling system ruined the game for me. If only they went with the leveling system they put in Fallout 3 I would have loved it. At least in Skyrim they're fixing it and making it more into what Fallout 3 had after the numerous complaints.

To each his own I suppose. For me the game felt too empty to explore. The world was so still and just felt awkward.

I tried to play it again, but after putting in over 100 hours, I couldn't get into it again. oh well, got $25 for it towards my pre-order for Alice :)
