McCain suspends campaign to "focus on economy" - delay debates
When you sit and say shit like if he doesnt win people are going to cry racism till 2012(when you say Romney a man who you have to have your head somewhere unpleasenet to support)then you freaking imply that Racism wont be the biggest reason he lost. Again thats just freaking stupid.
Here is a helper hint for you: 99.99999% of the time you think something is "implied", what you are really doing is ASSuming. Filling in the blanks on your own, based on your own very cemented stereotype of me.

And the Romney insert was just fun bait specifically designed and lovingly wrapped for you, don't be mad, just teasing you.

But on a more serious note, YOU seem to be IMPLYING that with the unpopularity of Bush and the economy where it is - anyone that votes for McCain is probably racist, with comments like these. Care to clarify?
You've got to be kidding.
Doesn't seem like it.

You know, out there in this world there are "New England Patriots: Super Bowl Champions 2008" t-shirts out there, that were made prior to the game happening. But they aren't released to the general public. That's the difference here.
I kinda miss the days of the crowd getting into it during the debates. That'd be fucking awesome.
Oh I fully agree. The debates we have now are pathetic. Watching the old b&w debates of yesteryear were bad ass. Audience members should be able to stand up and throw out random questions to both candidates.

I want to make a crack about McBane having a stroke halfway through the debates and the FNN using it against Obama but I just can't work it into a funny joke.

It's shitty by design, I swear.
Probaly but I have hope. I live in Ohio in a small rural town where you would think racism would run rampant. Iv seen like 4 Obama/Biden signs and not a single McCain one yet. Iv also heard a number of people saying positive things about Obama while out and about or linking McCain to Bush. Small stuff but it gives me hope.
I was speaking to my mother who is a nurse. Now she was helping a patient and Obama came on in one of his adds. The older lady in the other half of the room yelled "damn $$$$er ", no " $$$$er " will ever run this country.

My mom said she was completely shocked, this lady is late 60's. She said she spoke up and let the lady for your information he is only "half black". The lady just flipped out on her and said the same thing over again.

Its still happening, but obviously I think that its trending down.

As my Mom, a 65-year-old New York expatriate and lifelong liberal who has long suffered amid the politics of the south, often says, "They'll be dead soon."
Wait.

Someone actually wins the debate? I'm totally missing something here.
Yeah. ME.

And totally, totally, totally sigged, yukine.

Living in Ohio, you should know how this shit is going down. I'm from Cleveland and the media is already starting the racism's out there stuff (like we didn't know). Here's a link - http://www.woio.com/, it's the front page video right now but i'm sure it will be moved by the weekend.

I think there's also a confluence of the "he's a secret muslim" banter that's covert racism in action. Like you can find patterned discrimination in job applications that favor a guy names "John" over a guy names "Jamal." It's racism, but pinpointing the discriminatory act as obvious or intended is next to impossible.

:applause: Myke is the shit... Not only did he bust out this gem (my name happens to be Jamal) but that pic of him being the debate winner is priceless! Bravo!

our government at work... even when one of the most "important" issues of our time is at hand congress cant help but do what they always do.

A week ago, it totaled just three pages — the White House's request for $700 billion to rescue tottering financial institutions by buying their devalued mortgage-related assets.

By Monday, after an intense weekend of negotiations, the draft of the bailout legislation before Congress had swelled to 42 pages.

By Friday, after almost a week of marathon talks between Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and key lawmakers in both parties, the working version was up to 102 pages.

It likely will grow even longer as negotiators continue to tweak the proposal this weekend, adding and subtracting key elements.

Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., the House Financial Services Committee's chairman, was optimistic Friday that a final agreement could be reached by Sunday.

One of my friends cancelled a debate dinner party (fundraiser for Obama of course) because she thought McCain was going to follow through on his word and not show up to the debates.

As I tried to tell her, how many times are you going to believe the Republicans. Of course they can't be trusted to follow through on a promise, even one they make a week earlier.

Huh. Care to find the article? Now the cover's "Battle of the Goddamned Losers: Who's Going to Be Slightly Less Pathetic and Walk Away 1-3 and Who's Going to Paper Bag Their Head Through December By Going 0-4," more affectionately known elsewhere as Browns-Bengals.

I worked in Cincinnati (lived right across the river in the KY) for most of my life, but in the case of the last two elections, I remember seeing how long the lines were in Avondale, in Clifton, in the West End - predominantly black communities.

I remember the exploitation of Fred Shuttlesworth, and his legacy, to convince blacks to vote against the Democrats by using Gay Marriage to divide a group whose history is defined by struggle, exclusion and ostracism, but a group who is also exceptionally religious.

I remember the dubious choice of Ken Blackwell to serve as secretary of state and simultaneously George Bush's campaign coordinator in Ohio in 2004. I remember the controversy of him rejecting thousands of voter registration forms for failing to be on the proper card stock.

I remember, finally, the cynicism of voters caught up to him, as he failed to be elected for governor in 2006. And now we have Democrat Ted Strickland, who has CUT (CUT! CUT! CUT!) hundreds of millions in state spending during his tenure. Now, given the federal economy, the reduction of funds to states, and the reduced financial involvement of the fed in education, it was kinda necessary.

Having all that history via observation, I'm pretty thankful I'm living in SE Ohio and finally registered to vote in this fucking state. Now I can be the agent of change that I wasn't in KY.
