This is actually a repost, but the last one was by slidecage, which automatically makes this thread more coherent :) Plus this is probably the better forum for it.

The promo this year probably isn't going to get me to buy any more McDs than I usually do.

OOPS, I searched the right forum and found nothing for it. I guess I should have done a full site search. ;)
I'd rather have the TRU bucks honestly.
TRU or BB doesn't matter to me, but a max of $5 per "transaction" is stupid.
TRU or BB doesn't matter to me, but a max of $5 per "transaction" is stupid.
Yeah to us it's stupid, but to the store it is a lot better.

Why let people build up and spend them all in one transaction when they could put a cap on it and make people use them in seperate transactions?

Most people won't though, and $5 is low because they have $5 buck ones, should be like 10-15 atleast. I'm not going out of my way to get any, if I manage to get some, it'll be spent on a soda or something though.

yeah if I get any TRU bucks I'll be definitely spending them on something of equal value. screw that five dollar max.

With the Best Buy Bucks, I knew that I was going to be getting something for free out of the deal; it gave me a reason to jump through their hoops and order.

Making matters worse, there's about a 40% chance of getting a foot locker discount instead of the TRU cash, and a 1% chance of "winning" a crappy cell phone game.

McWTF?

Toys"R"Us Bucks expire November 13, 2007

After us CAGs 'ruined' Best Buy the past couple of years by 'exploiting' the Best Buy Bucks, someone courageous (stupid) enough had to step in.
Fan favorite Toys R' Us has decided to step in (I pity them).

However Foot Locker has joined in and meddled with our instant money gratification. This is what I do know.

This year, Toys R Us has gotten into the game with "Toys R Us Bucks". They aren't the only ones as Foot Locker also have prizes such as discount coupons.

Here is the breakdown for Toys R Us Bucks:

1. $1 Toys R Us Buck - 40,000,000 total
2. $3 Toys R Us Buck - 3,000,000 total
3. $5 Toys R Us Buck - 2,000,000 total

Not only that, but Toys R Us is offering several other prizes in coordination with the Monopoly contest:

Guaranteed Bonus Prize: $500 Toys R Us Gift Card - 60 available

In addition to the traditional Monopoly game, McDonald's also runs the on-line second chance version.

Prizes available of interest here are:

$100 Toys R Us Gift Cards - 1,033 total

Oooooo, cold hard numbers. Now we have something to work with. C'mon CAG. With a Buy 2 get one free coming up again soon and random ass monetary discounts, TRU's game section is going to look like a virtual ghost town again.

I'll update this thread once we get more info in. Like how frequent the Foot Locker stuff will come up (i could use some new kicks). And what the exact limits are on the bucks. That would be good to know. But imma guess it applies to everything.

What was the deal with Best Buy like?
What was the deal with Best Buy like?
Stackable $1, $3, or $5 off coupons for Best Buy. But you had to buy Large Artery Clogging Fries or a Premium Chicken item from McDonald's to get them.

CAG leaped all over this and blitzed Best Buys nationwide stacking coupons and snatching games up left and right.

It was a beautiful time to be a cager. Heck, being a cager is beautiful.

I knew something felt odd about not seeing it in the Game Deals forum. Hmmm. Sorry.

Does this not warrant a thread in both Contests and Game Deals fourms?

Wait so the Best Buy Thing was such a great deal because it assumes everyone pounded Mcdonalds food.

This is the dumbest Fat fuck scheme in the world.

You fat asses need to go on a diet. Spending money on pounds of flab that will cause you to lose thousands of dollars on medical bills and shorten your life span and existence is not a fucking deal. You are all fucking crazy
What was the deal with Best Buy like?
The highlight was you'd always get at least $1 in BB bucks per game piece. Roughly 1 in 3.x was a $5 BBB. Using the SASE and last year's stated odds, you'd expect to get about $1.3x worth of BB bucks for 2 stamps plus envelope cost. So you're making "money". I did above average and got about $1.70 per 2 stamps/envelope cost (~80 cents). Plus all of the food prizes, instant win and any online prices you got were on top of the BBBs. Had too many food prizes so I ended up giving dozens of food prizes away. Didn't win anything online (worth mentioning) or in the Monopoly collection portion of the game.

The BBBs were stackable up to $200 in store and 40 codes on line (which was $200 if you used all $5 BBBs or less if using $1 BBBs).

From that, I bought games and DVDs, sold and kept a few. Made enough to pay for my stamps and envelopes and a few games/movies for free.

I think that covers it.

Good Deal? You'll spend thousands of dollars to save your fat ass from dying. This is probably the worst post ever.

"It was a good time to be a CAG'er"

The object here is to save money and enjoy life not throw it all away to obesity you fat fucks.
Yeah. All you people who eat at McDonalds must be fat, and all of you fat people must not enjoy life!

I know, I'm so fat that I have to use a forklift just raise my fingers to type.

We didn't eat the food, dumbass. We sent in SASEs to get game pieces.

LOL

You're probably one of those crazy people that sued McDonalds because you ate there 3 times a day, every day of your life and got fat because of it. Now you're bitter over the fact that you had no self control.

No $hit, that's why you send in SASE.

I'm guessing that's what the OP meant about "It was a good time to be a CAG'er" b/c you DIDN'T have to buy the grease bombs and artery cloggers. If you had a mailing address in VA you could really kill this deal back then.

Learn the game, then talk fuck.

LOL online game dont even load up right Mcdonalds cant even handle a simple game no wonder why Best buy wanted nothing more to do with them

Has anyone ever won one of the major prizes from the mcdonald Monopoly game in the past 5 years?

I like how the new commercial has that woman, and states she won "alot of money, but is not telling". Probably from SASE, then agin she was kinda BIG. This year, it's just not worth playing.

I stopped getting excited about this game the last time they had it when they stopped guaranteeing a BB buck on every large Fry and Chicken sandwich. Since then I stopped going to McDizzles for their Monopoly program.
Is there a cap on the number of Toys R Us bucks you can redeem at one time per transaction? I heard it was $10 Toys R Us bucks.
Just read the rules, totally not worth sending SASE this year. Odds are worse this years also.

From the website:

Toys"R"Us Bucks. Toys"R"Us Bucks can be redeemed at participating Toys"R"Us stores or online at www.toysrus.com. To redeem Toys"R"Us Bucks in store: Each Toys"R"Us Buck will be applied to the transaction as a standard Toys"R"Us coupon. OR, to redeem Toys"R"Us Bucks at www.toysrus.com: Enter the unique 16-digit code found on each Toys"R"Us Buck when prompted during the checkout process. Once a Code is inputted online, if the transaction is subsequently rejected or declined for any reason, the customer forfeits the Buck. A total of $5 worth of Toys"R"Us Bucks may be applied to any one transaction. For example, $1 Toys"R"Us Bucks and $3 Toys"R"Us Bucks can be combined [i.e., are "stackable"] up to $5. Not valid with any other Toys"R"Us total transaction offer or on prior purchases. Not valid for the purchase of Toys"R"Us Gift Cards. Toys"R"Us Bucks must be surrendered at time of purchase and value is forfeited if item is returned. If the total value of the Toys"R"Us Bucks redeemed exceeds the total amount of the purchase, the unused balance will be forfeited. Only original Toys"R"Us Bucks will be accepted. Void where prohibited. Not valid at Babies"R"Us® stores or at www.babiesrus.com®. Cash value 1/100 of 1 cent. Toys"R"Us Bucks expire November 13, 2007. Toys"R"Us Gift Cards do not expire. See Rule 9c for redemption information. See www.toysrus.com or call 1-800-TOYSRUS for full terms and conditions.

I was going to send in 250 - 300 SASE's this year but with no BBB, I am only going to send in around 30. The $5 limit kills it especially when you want to buy $50 items and the Footlocker coupons are worthless considering they have 30% off printables every few months.

Even the online game sucks, no Snapfish or Gamefly this year.

There might be a way around the $5 limit at TRU.

Buy a bunch of cheap toys (around $5) using your McD bucks, then return the toys using gifts receipts in exchange for store credit (Gift Cards). You can do a bunch of returns at one time so the cashier can put it all on one gift card.

Good idea, sounds like a pain in the arse though.

gamefly said back in 2004 they will never team up with mcdonalds again. they didnt think people would stack up to 5 years for free.

3 days after their promo started they redid the rules to knock it down to 6 months then they knocked it down to 3 months cause everyone was getting 2 to 3 years for free very easy

Every code i entered gave me a free month. I ended up with 18 free months and sold 24 for around 300 bucks

i would like to see netflix or blockbuster online join on but i doubt mcdonalds can find a company who wants to give out 300,000 prizes

Does anyone know the odds of the different game pieces? I'm assuming I got the the 1/2 or 2/3 pieces that are common and the other one I need is rare but for all I know I may already have the rare one.

Bump, because I'd like to know which pieces are rare in each set too. Is it the same as the board game, where Boardwalk is more rare than Park Place?

i was going to send in around 10 to 20 entries Until i ate at mcdonalds saturday night.

PUt in first code and won the monopoly here and now game (this is the only online prize i really wanted)

I just use my 40 stamps else where

This is will be the least i have played this game since 2001

Hmm, all I need is Vermont Avenue and I win $500, though I having a gut feeling that Vermont Ave. is nearly impossible to find, just like Boardwalk, among others.
It's all in the rules:
http://monopoly.corsis.com/monopoly07/page.do?page=rules_en.html

the odds of getting Vermont is over 1 in 33 million
the odds of getting Boardwalk is over 1 in 184 million
What I think is funny is that since their are alot of people who don't know the odds and such, there is a high chance these will never be used and/or thrown away by some casual person. Funny stuff.

Also, good luck to all you guys trying to win stuff, I hope you do.
