Meet-the-parent gift?

Go to a Williams-Sonoma or Sur-La-Table or whatever high end gourmet cooking supply store and pick out something nice. Look at big pasta bowls, ceramic baking pans, fancy placemats, serving bowls or platters or whatever you come across as nice gifts. She obviously cooks and who wouldnt want new high end cookware even if she already owns some. And you dont necessarily need to show up with it. You can wrap it up and mail it to her after the dinner with a card saying some BS like how much you enjoyed meeting her. If you want to go the whole mile you should ask to cook something and bring it over in your purchased cookware.

if you decide to cook something, i recommend:
- a fresh salad with candied pecans and a light oil and vinegar dressing
- sweet potato casserole with a pecan and brown sugar crust
- pecan pie
assuming she's not allergic to peanuts pecans

I'd say a box of chocolates or some dessert like a fruit tart or some pie. Maybe a gift basket with lotion or something like that. Hope it helps and good luck.
