Mega Man Collection - PS2 or Cube

lol, the "wrong" one, haha...well im gettin the ps2 version...well...b/c i have a ps2

and im gettin the gba version when it comes out :D b/c there will be dif megaman games on that than on the console versions :)

from the sound of things im getting it for ps2 because ive heard you can lissen to the remixed soundtrack while youre playing

This is only difference that I know of:

On the PS2, you are treated to a full episode of the Mega Man animated series, while GameCube players get several producer interviews. Of the two, the producer interviews are definitely more interesting, but ultimately, it's a fairly even mix between the two. -GameSpot.com

PS2 also has remixed in game music.

Im going to buy the PS2, I dont care about producer interviews, plus the PS2 controller is closer to the NES/SNES controllers.

i think the only difference between the CG and the PS2 version are the extras on them....i would check out the www.ign.com review to check what the differences said. I would check for you but i have to brb and go to work...brb

True indeed. gotta get it for the system you own. I imagine that since all the games are old, there isn't much of a graphical difference between the two.

I purchased the GC version last night and was a little dissapointed with the controls. For some reason it feels like the jump and shoot buttons are backwards. The D-pad is also too small to use in my opinion and I didnt like the feel of playing with the analog stick. I think I would recommend the PS2 version.

yea, me too :D the gC control SETUP is weird...

Well the questions I have are:

What are the cartoon episodes on the PS2 version?

How indepth is the "history of Mega man" on the GC?

Is there really no sound test on the PS2 version?

The control set up dosent seem problematic for me on the GC in fact I think it'd be harder to play if the fire button were A and the jump was B..... oh wait, my bad that IS the way it's set up... UGH.

Why would they do that? Does Capcom hate Nintendo? Well, dammit gotta buy the PS2 version if that is true.

The GC version has the music remixes in a sound test supposedly but cant be played in game... thats what I've heard i dont know if it's true or not.

There were 2 or three episodes that were REALLY well animated regardless of the suckitude of the writing. The first was well done and th Megaman X expisode are by far the best but if it's just the first ep. I'd be a bit dissapointed... which it probably is.

I heard both games had the Navi Mode, where you can switch powers on the fly like in MM8, and that's the mode that had remixed tracks. Could someone with the GC version please clarify on this?

is anyone else dissapointed that they didnt include:

megaman and bass - isnt this in the mm series?

enhanced graphics - dont flame me for this but an option to play with some new graphics on mm 1-6 would have been nice, something along the lines of the graphics in the wily wars.

megaman soccer - yeah it sucks, but its megaman soccer!!!

Megaman and Bass was just relesed on GBA a few months ago, there's probably a licencing issue.

Yeah I'd have liked to see some slightly improved graphics but I'll live with the remixed tunes. According to IGN(...or was it Gamespot?) The navi mode that activated the music in the PS2 version didnt activate it in the CG version.

well over a year ago. and it sold poorly

Still, it was released on a currently viable system (GBA) Release date 3/10/03.

And poor sales dont change the fact that the games released in the collection (witht he possible exception of the arcade games) were originally on currently non viable systems.

Um... isn't that what the Navi mode is? I was under the impression that it was the original games with 8's graphics, on the fly weapon changing, and a burst fire.

i think navi mode is just the weapon switching from mm8 and new music!

arrg so much confusion!
