don't use action replay.
Sorry. That's all I could think of as well. BTW, was it a first-party card? If not, there's your problem.
it was first party..sony grr...i action replay is evil!
yep that's why everyone says not to use it, this is also why I have multiple memory cards.

I don't mean to threadjack, but I was wondering if you can't use Action Replay, what cheat device do guys recommend?

You can't go wrong with Satan. He's the original Action Replay.

i mean action replay is good for cheats but dont use any of that memory card organizer and crushing data crap...cause it destroyed my alll my data

Problem is, now mem cards are so big, you can fit everything on one. Also why having a GC could be a problem...

I prefer to use PRACTICE. It's free and compatable with all systems!

you can't reformat it?
hmm what do u mean?
Yupe. Two memory cards for me. One for the games I currently am playing and another one for data storage.

damn thats a great idea...thanks

You're screwed. A few years ago, one of my memory cards just stopped being read by my PS2. I had just gotten done moving stuff onto it and filling it up, though it was mostly rental game saves, so it wasn't all bad. I have 5 now so that it won't happen again, plus I use my HDD to put non-active files away.
damn...5 memory cards...thats hard core gaming
I do play a lot of sports games, which occupy three of them.

Which is why I own the xbox... the hard drive made the choice so obvious for sports games. I hope the next gen all 3 console makers decide on a hard drive or a built in flash drive that is at least 512MB or larger.

Might be a good idea to invest in one of the memory card USB adapters so you can save your PS2 file to your hard drive. It'll also let you download and trade saves over the net.

Ironically enough, a third-party memory card enhancer is what saved my memory card. Once when I was playing Madden in franchise mode, I accidently saved when I didn't want to. Just as it started saving, I ripped out my memory card. It was a stupid idea, but it was a last resort and I just hoped and prayed. Needless to say, I had a 1200 KB piece of corrupted data on my memory card. Couldn't delete it through Madden, through the PS2 browser or through my SharkPort's software menu. Then I saw it. There was something called "Format" under the SharkPort's menu, I clicked that, and BAM! It deleted all my files (I backed them up before hand), including that corrupted data! So, SharkPort saved me the money of buying a new memory card.

I just got one of those Max Drive USB memory cards for the PS2 and read about a lot of people corrupting their Sony memory cards with it. The only advice I came across about it is to only use the copy function to transfer your saves 1 at a time to the USB stick. Then when transferring saves from the stick to a memory card, make sure to uncrush them and transfer one at a time.
