Memory Cards for Wii U and 3DS

Can someone recommend the biggest size that these two consoles can take as far as memory storage goes? Is there a favorite brand/type here at CAG? I'm looking to move all my purchases to digital format.

3ds is 32 gb. Wii u i'm not sure cause i haven't needed one.

Wii U uses Jumpdrives/external HDDs for its memory, and I believe the limit is a 2TB HDD but I am not sure. It only uses SD cards for the Wii downloads and games, and u believe it has the same limitations that the Wii did but I have no idea what they are.
