Looks not too different for tech (I don't know much either).

It's a hugely different design, so if you don't like the feel of the g7 it might be worth a look. Conversely if you like the feel of the logitech, then it's not a good bet.

Also have a look at Logitech mice you can find the MX518 for 25$ refurb at canada computers and under 40 elsewhere. I've got the G5 version 2 and it's pretty wicked.
