Currently I am playing Assassin's Creed 2 on my roommates Xbox 360 and gamertag, and I was wondering if it would be possible to transfer the game save and play it on my Xbox 360 and gamertag using a memory unit.

Some games lock the save data to the gamertag that it's being played on. So, while it may let you copy the data over, it may not let you load it on your gamertag. It depends on the game, so I cannot say if that's the case with AC II.

Okay, well I guess the better question is whether anyone knows if AC II locks game save data. Also, is it possible to play a game without linking it to a gamertag? I don't care about points or anything I just really want to be able to continue from where I ended when I go back home for spring break.

Problem is that I have already started playing using my roommates gamertag. I don't think there is anything I can do. I tried to play my game save with a different gamer tag and I wasn't able to.

you're going to have to start over with your own gamertag. Game won't let you play without one signed in.

I had to start over after about sequence 5 or 6 because my game save got corrupted when I tried to sign up for U-play, which froze my 360.

I've had ACII freeze on my 3 or 4 times. Thankfully it was only that one time that it corrupted my save...Quit out of the game every couple hours and copy your save file to a different memory storage device, just to be safe.
