merry christmas new wii owners and current wii owners

blah, its christmas day and instead of chillin, im going to have to drive 4 hrs. oh well, at least where im going is usually fun.
 
I would prefer to be playing my Wii, or newly acquired Guitar Hero II, but I'm heading out sledding here in another hour. I truely hate sledding as I am 6'5'' and getting my lanky ass in a little sled never works out.

It sounds like you should just have to go to 192.168.1.1 and depending onyou r router there should be a tab to select your channel, and just change it to 1 or 11.
 
hey, go to nintendowifi.com and go to tech support. look for the kind of modem you have and it will tell you how to go to the settings..... i will just give you the link. hope it helps. it took a week for my bro to get his router to act right. i live out of state so i really could not help... SO FRUSTRATING!!!

On the Wii? It doesn't give me this option. It asks for crap like, "Type of Security", "Auto Obtain IP Address", "Auto Obtain DNS" and "MTU Value". I'll look for more help on the interwebz when I get more time.
edit. Thanx, bigdollarbanks. I'll give those a shot. I know nothing about this stuff.

No, on your computer up where you type in www.cheapassgamer.com type in 192.168.1.1
 
Doesn't your router have preinstalled software that changes the settings automatically for you? I know my Belkin came with something like that.

Either way, I hope you get it online because those first two updates are pretty critical, and ye needs the Toejam and Earl.

You know, on the first day I got my wii one of the things I did was post a memo on this day to wish myself a Merry Christmas.....sad but fun.

I got my Wii on December 23rd (my birthday). So far I'm loving it. I got the whole family to play it today!

Wii sports was the center of attention this year at my family's get together. Everyone was really into it, it was so much fun. It may just be a fad right now, but it's a damn good one :)
 
Mine was working fine yesterday but now I am having trouble with getting stuck on the Connecting screen for Wii Shop Channel. Is everyone else having this issue or is it just me?
