Metal fans unite! (part 2)

Symphony X are good.

I've always been the biggest Yngwie Malmsteen fan.

I'm also very much into Dream Theater and Ayreon at the moment. In fact, anything Arjen Lucassen does is just great.

misfits

i dont listen to much metal but i like cradle of filth from the few songs ive heard, i also like cky's sound but there lyrics are just the definition of gay

I am eagerly awaiting the new Mastodon album which is coming out the end of the month. For now, I'm listening to old C.O.C.

By the way, I heard that Sepultura Roorback album is pretty good. Has anyone of you heard this record? Any feedback?

It's not Choas AD material, but it's pretty damn good. It's taken the Seps a few years to get it right with Derrick Green, but he's a strong frontman, and it's finally starting to show.

If you're into clutch, it'd be a crime not to listen to the 1995 S/T album.
Does Clutch count as metal? I've been digging their Blast Tyrant album. Anyone know any other bands along those lines?
Thanks for the tip. I'll pick up this record.

PS I went to high school with Derrick Green. He's a good guy. I didn't care for Nation too much but I heard Roorback is better.

You are correct with Dillinger. That CD is amazing.
I'm listening to ride the lighting right now. Man that album rocks.
Hell yeah. Master of puppets, Kill em all, and Ride the lightning were Metallica's best albums.
SLAYER, FOO!!!! Too many "me too" bands out there though...............
Hell yeah. Best Thrash metal band ever!
I've seen a lot of people saying it and it has made me wonder. I never thought of Dream Theatre as metal. Are they?
Well, some of their stuff definitely is. I think there's a bit more to them than just being able to pigeonhole them as "metal", though. :D

But for DT "metal", try Pull Me Under, Lie/The Mirror, Caught In A Web, The Glass Prison, and As I Am (or more or less anything off their "Train Of Thought" album).

I'm also quite into Savatage at the moment, especially Hall Of The Mountain King, Gutter Ballet and Streets.
nice sig CrimGhost

btw, slayer is no good, i think you need some Graveworm instead!
Slayer is the best. Comments like that can start a serious flame war.

I used to love Savatage especially their early shit like Sirens, Dungeons are calling all the way to Mountain King.

After that, the band started to grow way too melodic and they lost focus. Its a shame because they were one of the great non-trash metal bands of the 80's.

BTW, I saw them a few years ago and they had some glam singer filling in for vocal duties. The rest of the band was terrible. It was a very depressing concert.

Yeah, once they changed their singer and unfortunately lost their guitarist, they lost me. Anything up to Streets is great, after that, not so much at all. Although Jon Oliva did sing on their last album, I've been meaning to pick it up but never got around to it.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some black metal, but if you have a sense of humor, I give you:

That was pretty good. In a certain way, they are all copycats of Kiss makeup. Even King Diamond (who I love in Mercyful Fate) borrowed a little bit from Kiss when it comes to makeup.
