Metal fans unite...!!!

Rhapsody and Trivium are awesome. I've moved back from Hardcore now to J-Metal again, with Dir en grey constantly on my playlist.

NP: Dir en grey - Obscure
BTW I went to see GWAR a few months ago. Amazing.
I hope you weren't wearing light colored clothes...
I hope you weren't wearing light colored clothes...
My friend came to school the day after a GWAR concert, and all of his exposed skin was a hue of red from all the blood. He also kept yelling, and couldn't hear for shit. Makes me wish I had known about it.
song was OK and the video was... "very nice" but isn't very metal
Most of their music is Ballads, but some is VERY heavy.

NP- Skinlab- Second Skin: New Flesh

Rhapsody, Ensiferum, Masterplan, Dragonforce, Kamelot.. Awesome.

Ensiferums first album is fucking awesome, Token of Time is a masterpiece. Their second album is meh. Wish the singer didn't ditch them.

They had the Ozzfest presale yesterday. I snagged two tickets for the Shoreline in Mountain View. They place sucks but what are you gonna do.....

i dont like shoreline either... i saw ozzfest there a couple years ago, jesus fucking christ that one H :hot: T day. Too bad the 2nd stage was the only enjoyable part.

I can't get into this new metal you guys are listening to :) I love my old favorites...Anthrax, pre-black-album Metallica, Slayer, Testament, etc...and old bands like SOD and the like. Of course classics like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and so on. Some hardcore punk rounding out the equation.

But today...this whole Growling Thing which back in the day was relegated to DeathMetal bands......and the downbeat Goth metal sound (Again, I'm out of the loop, I'm sure there are TERMS for these classifications of metal, I just don't know em) I just can't get into.
That band with the chick lead singer who growls.....and Lamb Of God. Tried hard to listen to em...just couldn't do it. The growling and screaming just kept making me laugh :)

You know when someone is trying TOO hard to be badass? Thats like the reaction I kept getting......

Last metal album I picked up that I really liked was Puppet Master by King Diamond. last metal album I picked up that I sort-of liked was Death Cult Armageddon by Dimmu Borgir, which I KNOW GOES AGAINST what I just said above...but I dug the whole orchestra sound and the video on MTV2 sucked me in. I enjoyed the album but no longer listen to it, and I wouldn't go out and buy any of their other works...

Fear Factory was great with DeManufacture...after that they went straight to hell :(
(with a few exceptions from later discs).

Judas Priest and Anthrax with the original lineup are two shows I'd like to try and catch in the coming year...

I am too from the 80's thrash era but I found some bands that are good like Mastodon and High on Fire. But I know what you mean by the growling thing. Its played out....

As much as I love 80s/early 90s metal, most of them have ran out of steam these days... Metallica now blows. Megadeth calls it quits AGAIN after releasing a decent album, Maiden's reunion wasn't exactly the second-coming it was meant to be... even the reunited Priest didn't sound all that good. Unfortunately we will never find out if Damageplan would realize their potential... RIP Dimebag.

Obsolete and Digimortal are awesome cds by FF.

And, Death CUlt Amrageddon is a masterpiece.
Who the what now?
People are still shocked that you are back DLF. It will take awhile for this to subside.....

here in the san bernarnardino hyundai pavillion last year you could not see past 4 meters after the pit started. I ate so much sand that day. It was so awesome. When hatebreed and lamb of god played the everyone went nuts. Granted the headliner sucked cause well after seen lamb of god, hatebreed slipknot didn't seem to make so much as a little pit comparing to the latter. plus the temperature over here was about 105 that day.

I don't like Lamb of God. Never have, never will. Them or Killswitch Engage.

Lately I've been listening to alot of In Flames, Soilwork, Trivium, The Haunted, Children of Bodom, and Darkane. Nice to see more metal fans around!
killswitch kind of sucks but lamb of god is good but to a lot of people they suck. Maybe its cause you are more into black metal right.
That and death metal, like Morbid Angel. I just recently got into Nevermore, and Enemies of Reality is as close to a PERFECT cd as you can get. Warrel Dane is GOD when it comes to singing.
Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the song Nas Ahku Khan She En Asbiu by Nile? That song is INCREDIBLY hard to find.
A little impatient are we? ;)

Nice line-up. Too bad I'm not in the UK.

My all time favorite is Ozzy. I've seen Ozzy a couple of times - at Jones Beach, and the Ultimate Sin tour where Metallica opened.

Lately I've been listing a lot to Iced Earth, Running Wild, Metalium, Hammerfall, and Blind Guardian.

Iced Earth is pretty good.

If their site was up, www.centurymedia.com has Burnt Offerings, night of the Stormrider, and S/T for $5 plus $1.50 shipping. I got Burnt Offerings a while ago, and it's a damn good cd. Dante's Inferno is a MASTERPIECE. 16:29 of pure perfection.

Figured this needs a bump, and I made some new discoveries (to me)

Bolt Thrower - from what I heard, eh, sounds a bit generic, but I'll try some more
Dimmu Borgir - fucking AWESOME. Shot straight up into my top 10 list after I heard Mourning Palace
NeverDead - Accidental find from some mistagged songs, I recommend you check them out. I can only find one song (Frost), but the song is just fucking awesome. Who orchestrated speed metal with a near operatic chorus and bellowing growl lyrics.

NP;

Dimmu Borgir -Mourning Palace
NeverDead - Frost

Mourning Palace is an incredible song. Two of my other favorite Dimmu Borgir songs you might want to check out are Perfection or Vanity & Progenies of the Great Apocalypse. There are other awesome songs as well but at the moment these are the two I can't stop listening to.
Ok, is it just me or was the begining to Eradication Instincts Defined used in the Hellboy trailer?
IDK, but that song is fucking perfect.

I like them. Check out Pride, and 7Th Offensive. Both awesome songs.

Mourning Palace is an awesome song man. Glad you got into them.

I love metal, what I listen to most of:
Morbid Angel
It Dies Today
Killswitch Engage
Nile
Obituary
As I Lay Dying
Throwdown
Hatebreed
Opeth
DT
Suffocation
....and many more.

By the way, the new Iced Earth albums, while not as good as their best disc (Something Wicked this Way Comes) are both awesome. The Gettysburg trilogy is incredible.

I personally thought Burnt Offerings is their best, but, That's just cause of Dante's Inferno.

3 great bands, man. Nile is just SICK.
