Metal fans unite!

Not sure if you could consider them metal bands but I'm a huge fan of Ministry, Pantera, and Megadeth, just to name a few.

The Gathering (not really metal anymore, but...)
HIM
 
I came in here expecting some really crappy stuff...like Metallica (reloaded and that $hit...MoP RULES!),Cold,and all that crap that is now considered "metal"...Im glad to see we have people that know what the roots are and stick to em!

that's awesome.

on a more serious note, i'm a fan of darkest hour. their stuff is pretty derivitive, but they do it really well.

my favorite metal band, though, is definitely goatsnake.

Exhumed, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Cradle Of Filth, Dying Fetus, Iced Earth, Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal, Fear Factory, Sentenced, Krisiun, Shadows Fall, Amon Amarth, Bolt Thrower, Cryptopsy, Nile, Slayer.
 
I am mostly a Hardcore (Poison the Well, Hopesfall, Atreyu, ...) fan.
The only metal band I sometimes listen to is God Forbid. They are pretty good.

those bands aren't hardcore bands. i'm not trying to start a debate and i'm not even saying if i think they are good or bad bands, that's not the issue, the issue is that all of these bands are called "hardcore" bands when they are anything but. hardcore bands are bands like sick of it all or agnostic front and the like, and i think equating the sound of atreyu to the sound of sick of it all isn't a good idea. i just think that people should call it something else, even call it metal, i'm ok with that, because atreyu is closer to metal than they are to hardcore.

although i already mentioned my favorite metal band earlier in the thread (goatsnake), here's a short list a few others i enjoy:

-church of misery
-electric wizard

-floor

-sunn o)))
-darkest hour

...and you get the idea.

For the old shit, I like Slayer, Motorhead, Pantera, Trouble, Sabbath, Celtic Frost.

For new shit I like Electric Wizard, HIGH on Fire, Mastodon..

I can't really put them in order (although I listen to HIM the most). Each band has their own "sound".

yeah, he's cool.
Metallica all the way. if u don't like St. Anger, fine. but you have to listen to the older stuff, like the "Black Album" , really titled Metallica. that is the good stuff.
 
Im just getting in metal and my starting cd is gonna be Decade of Aggression Live from Slayer. Its gonna be a long car drive on July 10 and i need somethin to keep me goin.
