This is one of those games that you either love or hate. After logging only 15 minutes, I'm in the latter. Anyhow...I can see this game being one of those that will point towards an early price-drop....what do you fellows think? This is one of the few titles that I have seen in many quantities at almost every location/store that I have gone to.

I have asked many people I seen @ Gamerush & eb.. and once they said it's a card game, they just lose interest, I have yet meet 1 person who said they played this titled yet, I just don't like card games, and the video preview, don't make you go rite out and buy this thing...

I don't see a pricedrop on any PSP titles except for some of the sports one that are out (Wayne, NBA, Soccer) in the next 2 months. Everything else will stay at its current price, not including sales etc.

HOWEVER, I agree with you on the fact that MGS ACID is NOT like the console versions, and some people bought it thinking it was. With that said, its one of the few PSP games I do not own, but am sure I will nab it used in the next 2-3 weeks.

My store already has 3 copies preplayed already!

This is actually the first card videogame I ever played. It takes some time to get used to, but It's pretty cool.

As for a pricedrop? Not for a while.

What?! Already? What store do you work for, and how much are they?

it has the best box art IMO, i like the cover inside the box
as for the gameplay, i love srpg.... but srpg and stealth is just boring imo...
right now, im just trying to love this game :D

I agree was hoping to snatch an advertisment box from one of the stores because I like the art so much but I figure I'll just scan mine at a hige resolution or wait for it to pop up online.

As for used PSP games, In gamestop I saw two used copies of TM and THUG2 but their prices, used, were about 5 bucks more than I get them for brand new so I passed.

Amazing that only 5 days after launch used games are already popping up. Tony Hawk is surprising due to the fact that its almost identical to the PS2 counterpart, so by buying it, you know what your getting.

I had a feeling it was store employees taking games home to "try out" then bringing them back to the store to sell used.

You mean employee's purchased the games and then traded-in, correct? Because impossible for a store to just change a NEW game to a USED game. They would simply lose to much money on it. Keep in mind, EB and GameStop cannot manualy change their inventory, until, well, inventorys.

I dont know the employee discounts they get exactly I think it's like 10% which is basically tax in NY so they're likely trading in old games to snag them then trading them back into the store if they dont want them (something akin to the EB trading thing maybe?).

Either that or they had some sort of floor demonstration by a sony rep but I doubt they went to that much trouble.

Anybody who works for EB knows it IS possible to change inventory whenever they want to, but like u said, it'll just be losing money. No...these were games that were traded in by customers.

So far my store has received NFS:UR, 3 MGS:A, and 2 NHL's.

I for one am enjoying this game. It reminds me of Jagged Alliance 2 and Advance Wars, only you just control one character. The weapons and power ups are distributed in a card game sort of manner.
It's definitely a thinking man's (or woman's) Metal Gear Solid.

the EB I work at has 2 of the MGA traded in.

I purchased one and I think it is pretty good. To me, its kind of like a FF Tactic/Vandal Hearts/insertstrategyrpghere. Instead of movement points and 1 attack per round, you get to use so many cards per round. I bought it knowing that it is a card game and not an action game. It is different and unique and like others before me it takes a little getting used to. Once you do though, you realize how solid this game is.

Yeah, I gotta agree with doctorfaustus and say MGA is kinda like Advance Wars. It reminds me of a big chess game with awesome graphics and a story. It took me a few days to get used to it, but now I am really enjoying it

All of their games are pretty much clones or abbreviated PS2 titles, except for MGA, Lumines, etc. This is sony that we're talking about.

Me too man, The more I play it, the more I like it. The whole stealth/strategy idea, as strange as it is, really works. The story is pretty interesting too.
Btw, I think you get some more characters to control later on- the screens on the box show snake with that girl who gets caught in the beginning and 2 life bars.

There's a lot of used ones around here too-- So many people bought thinking it was a stealth action game(dumbasses)

I logged in a few hours, great game for those that like Card games and/or strat games, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it would've kicked so much ass had it been a traditional MGS game. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wopuld've preffered a striped down version to be tacked on to a true MG game, IMO.

Until you meet Swallowtail.

do you get anyone else? if you could get a party of stealthy folks, that would make this game about 100x better than it already is. (though if you had more people each mission would take about 3 hours.)
do you get anyone else?
I am not far enough to answer that. I would assume you would get more people but, then again, she is the only other character pictured on all the MGA promo stuff. So maybe she is the only one.

so what mission do you meet her in? i'm in the residential area right now.

Um... I don't want to spoil it. But if you don't see her really, really soon then something has gone horribly wrong.

Picked this one up at launch and i've enjoyed it. Even though the plot story is much more wierd and stranger than its big brothers (i mean a airplane hijacked by marionettes?), i still enjoy the gameplay. One thing that does annoy me is that when you advance and suddenly get a call, you end up staying in that same block. You get one extra party member which is the girl. One thing that bugs me is that the back of the game cases of Darkstalkers and MGA tells us that their is an infrastructure online mode. But its absent so far unless a future update allows them to be played online. o Well their is tunneling software available in these situations.

I was confused by the infrastructure thing as well. And I share your complaint of incoming calls messing up your moves. It should be like a pause button but instead it screws up your game play, not cool. I do love the marionettes though. Very creepy. If I ever decide to retire Hotsuma as my sig here, I will use those marionettes for sure. Then I can creep out everyone on the board!

the marionettes would be pretty sweet.. those things give me nightmares are so strange. can't wait to see how they are going to explain hijacker marionettes and why the plane is still in the air without any pilots.

yuckfou-- stealth is the way to go or else this game will be a very painful experience.
