Metal Gear Solid 3...Snake is Big Boss

liquidsnake

CAGiversary!
In the upcoming MGS3 the main character must be Big Boss...dont believe me? Check out this link

There is NO way he (the real solid snake) can be in this 1960's Metal Gear game.

There are also a few hints in the Metal Gear Solid script.

Liquid : Les enfants terribles... the terrible children. That's what the
project was called. It started in the 1970's. Their plan was to
artificially create the most powerful soldier possible. The person
that they chose as the model was the man known then as the greatest living soldier in the world...

All of the cloning started in the 1970's, after the apparent MGS 3 story.

Here is the biggest piece, also used in the link above.

Campbell : Liquid Snake. The man with the same codename as you.

Snake : Tell me what you know.

Campbell : He fought in the Gulf War as a teenager, the youngest person in the
SAS (British Special Air Service). His job was to track down and
destroy mobile SCUD missile launching platforms. You were there too
I believe. Didn't you infiltrate western Iraq with a platoon of
Green Berets?

Snake : I was just a kid myself back then

There is also a hint in the MGS3 trailer, at the end the main character (Snake, Big Boss) has a missing eye(with no patch though) which we all know that Big Boss has one. Search on Google images for a comparision. He was just a teenager in the Gulf War (max of 19 years old) so since he and Snake are twins, how in the world can he be a grown ass man in the jungle in the 1960s???? Post and tell me what yall think.
welcome to e3 2003 ^^
this years trailer made it blatently obvious.

I will stick to my guns and say this is the game that sets up the founding of outer heaven(no facts, but the trailer has me pretty convinced)

Yeah, this is old news. Who you play as doesn't matter, even when you were prissy Ms. Raiden, the game still kicked ass. Gameplay wise, that is.

I totally agree with you. MGS2 had it where it counted and was a really really fun game IMO. I need to pick up the PS2 version so I can play through it again

Solid Snake whined a hell of a lot in MGS. The only thing that makes Raiden look so bad is that Snake is not so whiny and knows a lot more about the situtation than Raiden.

hey i wasnt complaining that you probably wouldnt be playing as snake, i was just letting everyone know who didnt know. it still pissed me off having to play as raiden though, but hideo is the man so its all good and he did a good job with raiden and the story.

i LOVED that you played as raiden and not snake. why? because everything kojima said and showed us lead us to believe that you played the entire game as snake! no one saw it comming and when it came, it was awesome. i hope they do it again, get us thinking "omg big boss!!" and totally go 360 on us, playing as otocon or something ^^

I agree. Also, Snake has more of a hardened, war-torn look. He's a real man's man. Raiden looked more like a Final Fantasy hero than an undercover government operative. If you told me that before his mission, Raiden went for a perm and a manicure with Tidus or Squall, I'd believe you.

I dunno. I enjoyed the gameplay of the MGS 2, but I don't completely agree with playing as Raiden. Despite what surprise it had on the consumers, I really think it cheapend the series w/ Jack and Rose's (...) somewhat retarded love story and Raiden just watching as daddy Snake did all the work. I find myself wary of MGS 3 instead of excited over it, fearing a disasterous repeat. Except if you played as Otacon. That would be amusing and I would smile.

You're bitching about story, not gameplay. The gameplay was still spot on. Press triangle or start to bypass all of those silly, annoying story sequences.

my problem with the series is that I really hoped for a direct sequel.

hopefully Konami continues the series and Kojima will come back after a while and revive it.

we all know that mgs 3's gameplay will be awesome and hideo will come up with a story to captivate us all, maybe this time we wont have to have a PhD to understand it.

The first half of this game could be in a completely different time, just like MGS2. Besides, I just wanna know who the Patriots are.

glad I am not the only one. I would love for that to be the plot of the next game. I hope Kojima takes a temp. break and not a perm one
