Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence

Has anyone noticed that the limited edition is no longer available on ebgames.com or gamestop.com?

Maybe this is a real limited edition.
 
If the game isn't coming out, how about the pre-order DVD (Metal Gear Saga Vol. 1)? I heard that it would be ready feb. 28...

If you pre-ordered online, you should get or already have the Saga DVD. If you pre-ordered in the store then they're going to give it out when the game comes out on March 15.
 
the eb website says "Bonus item ships with release of title."

my order is also one item. bonuses that ship seperately are always listed as 2 items.
 
My bonus is listed as 2 items, but it still says "Usually ships in 24 hours" and it has been like that for the past week.

I know Gamestop, who I work for, stopped taking preorders on the LE of Subsistence about a week or so ago. So my guess is that it actually is a limited version.
 
Can I ask some should-be-FAQs here?

Metal Gear Solid *2* - Substance is a complete superset of the other Metal Gear Solid 2 versions, right? (Yes, I know MGS2 Substance is very expensive -- I'm bidding on eBay on and off.)

Is this also true of Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence? That is, is it a superset of the previous MGS3 releases?

Though with "Metal Gear Solid 3 with DVD" $9.99 at Amazon (around $14 including shipping, not available with free shipping for larger orders), I may just get that instead.

I played MGS on the original PS a few years ago on a co-worker's PS, and am interested in the later ones. Even the wikipedia entry doesn't completely clear this up.. But I think I'm right about these superset observations, right?

Source? It was available on the website for 3 weeks. Way more than 1000 people jumped on that. I seriously doubt Konami left them in the dark about that and had them take tons of orders they can't follow up on. Don't spread rumors so you can make big bucks on ebay. B&M stores also accepted preorders for the LE version and people have receipts showing that it's specifically the LE edition.

And does it make sense for Konami to make a different box, booklet (I assume), and English version of the 3rd disc for a measly 1000 copy print run? Do you know how few 1000 copies really is?

I agree that a thousand copies is extremely unlikely (twenty per state? :) )... however, it does appear that this Limited Edition could be quite rare: very few places are even selling it, it's been ages since I've seen EBgames.com stop taking pre-orders for a limited edition in advance... and MGS is quite popular.

We'll see...
 
A thousand copies is an impossibility and there can't be a reputable source behind that... it just makes no sense whatsoever. I just hope that Gamecrazy actually does get the LE's in... I'm the only one with it preordered at my store so I had better get it.
 
I'm gonna be pretty pissed if I don't get a LE. The only reason I didn't pre-order before is because I wanted a overnight shipping deal or something.

That movie disc is one of the major reasons I want Subsistence in the first place.

I had pre-ordered the LE at Gamecrazy first, but they weren't able to confirm if they were getting it or not so I cancelled and pre-ordered from Gamestop just to be safe.

I'm going to be pissed as fuck and probably murder some bitches if I don't get the LE... they said they were getting it so hopefully my store wasn't lying.
