I wouldn't really consider a guide deal something to post, but with the release of this game being so huge and so many CAGs getting it I figured I'd post this anyway. I hadn't seen anything about this deal posted yet. Also, its not a penny guide so it doesn't need to go into the guide thread. Amazon.com has the limited edition guide on sale for $19.79 and the regular version for $13.59. Thats a pretty damn good deal for the limited edition.

Are people not able to get a copy of the LE guide? I was able to find some copies at a frys in phoenix and now I'm wondering how limited this is.

I could not find a LE guide ANYWHERE the day after the game came out; I got mine online, but I was trying to score one for a friend in Canada. 6 stores had gotten them and all sold out of them, there's literally no retailer in my city who carries the guide that had them past the first day. I have a lot of LE guides, but this is one of the nicest, and combined with it being MGS4, it might actually wind up being hard to find.

I ordered the LE guide from Amazon and it said will be in stock July 2nd. Today I got an e-mail saying they shipped it.... Maybe they don't want people to complain if they don't get theirs right away and use the July 2nd date as a safety. It says I should have it it by Friday.

Yeah. It shipped today for me too (the LE guide). It's already in my state, so I guess I'll get it tomorrow if I'm lucky. (AFTER BEATING THE GAME...)

I'm confused as to how many guides are there. Amazon says the LE is from Prima but I thought it was Piggyback. What's the deal?

Huh, odd. Now Amazon brought it back to their original low price at around $20-- guess they were trying to make a few bucks by upping it to $23 last week.

Is the content from the bonus artbook also contained in the MGS4 LE strategy guide? To me it seems more reasonable to extract a sampling from the LE guide to make up the artbook, rather than produce new content from scratch.

If the numbered lithograph is an accurate indication, there are 43,000 copies of the LE guide. In other words, unless there's a reprint, people probably won't be too likely to find it when it gets pennied out. But no one should wait that long anyway - it's so chock full of content it's well worth full price.

Yay, my LE Hardcover Book arrived today from Amazon!!! Check your DHL mailman carrier. You need to sign the Delivery Confirmation anyway.
Yea, if I hadn't reminded the Gamestop employee, I wouldn't have gotten my artbook. Kinda makes me wonder how many other LE buyers didn't get theirs.

As for the book itself, it's really more like an extended pamphlet. Apart from an article about the making of the BB Corps, it really doesn't have anything that's not done better in the LE guide. As a mater of fact, the general feel of it (the introduction to the series and the characters, the timeline, the ads for the other Metal Gear games on the back page, the fact that it just reuses Konami PR art assets from over the last few years instead of anything new) is of something that would have been better had it been released upon preordering instead of upon pickup.
Hell I got lucky with my Gamestop preorder, I totally forgot about the Artbook til the employee handed me it as I got rung up for the game. Come to think of it though, that's the one employee at my local one that I'll just shoot the shit with if I'm there on a slow day. Cool people is the key I guess.
I didn't find one in my artbook. Was it loose or attached? Not that it matters as I've already got the guide...
The coupon was loose.

Does anyone know if you can use that coupon online, getting the LE guide for ~$15 would be nice! ;)
I got the LE guide for about $15 & some change when I used the coupon and ordered it all from Gamestop.com. Although, that was along with the LE game.
What coupon, the 10% thingie? Which coupon works online?

I was talking about the $5 coupon that comes with the artbook that you get when you preorder MSG4 LE. There is a code on it, but I don't know if you can use it online because the LE guide is currently not available on GS.com.

man the LE guide is OOS at several online sites including gamestop and amazon and buy. I wonder if I should dump my brand new LE guide I just got from buy.com on eBay while the gettin's good hahah, since I only paid $12 shipped for it.

I picked up a copy of the LE guide; won't ship until early July but that's no problem with me. Great price for it.

Got my LE Guide today from Amazon. It's very nice. The lithograph is pretty cool, too. The guide has A LOT of information about MGS in general, not just the MGS4 game. And there's a section on MGO.

Good buy for all MGS fans.

Ditto.

This is one of those guides that is worth paying for.

If that is true then most likely less than 1% of people who bought the game will get a chance to own the limited guide. I am guessing the title will sell more than 4 million copies / 40,000 = less than 1%.

What's the difference between the LE and the normal guide, thinking of grabbing the normal one while it's cheap at Circuit City, but might try to find a LE if it's better.

I haven't looked through the standard version, but I think the only additons are the art section in the back and the lithograph. However, the hard cover itself is also really neat and feels high quality. I recommend it if you can find it.

As a matter of fact, it's in stock at most of the local Best Buys, so I'm tempted to pick up an extra copy.

Heh I just sold my buy.com on ebay for $40 when I paid $12 not bad.. figured might as well sell it and just nab one later or with RZ dollars at my BB.

Sad thing is, it says it's still in stock on BB.com. Makes me wonder what it'll be worth a while down the road, once the speculation ends.

Oh FFS, is it out of stock everywhere? I preordered a copy from Barnes and Noble four weeks ago and the order never shipped. Something tells me I'm screwed. :/

It's still in stock on bestbuy.com, but it's back up to full price (29.99).

Might try amazon marketplace for the LE guides, I bought a new regular one for 8 bucks shipped..not as good as the original deal but good enough.

Only one I saw listed they idiot wanted $60 for it. I got one locally for $20 + tax so I'm happy. Hopefully the B&N order goes through too and I'll have an extra for my trade list. :)
