MGS 3 Subsistence $8.99 at Fred Meyers

I just picked up the last copy this morning. It scanned at $8.99. The best deal I got from FM for years :mrgreen:

FM corporate must have decided to honor their ad mistake on Tuesday. Kudo to them.

Man, they're still going for that much on Ebay, too ;-) A part of me feels like I should sell mine, but the collector in me can't bear to do it.

Game companies rarely if ever release truly LIMITED LEs in the US, and this one was certainly one of the few. Knowing that makes it even harder for me to ever sell it, though I've played around it quite a bit and now it sits in a box in perfectly mint condition.

Never got around to watching that vol. 1 DVD -- in fact, never opened it, either. The movie disc was the first thing that went into my PS2.
 
What's nice is, these are exactly the same as the game section of the LE....which means that if you are like me and stupidly opened the box/seal, now you can at least get a replacement for the game, resealed, and enjoy the game anyway.

Still have these....my car died getting these for you CAGers, so PM the hell out of me if you want one. Will trade for X360 or saturn games as well, or maybe MS points.

I have absolutely no problem with anyone "joining" themselves to the NW CAGers "club". I made the prototype and someone else created this refined model. There are several other Logos that could apply, as there is one with Adam West as Batman saying West CAG.

I didn't know that there were that man CAGs in The Albany area as well. I lived in Albany for ten years until in february when i moved to Maryland. Man, Game shopping is much easier to do here In the DC baltimore area with the wealth of Best Buys, circuit cities, and eb games around here. Visited Albany a few weeks back and the game shopping situation there really sucks now that Game Crazy closed and Toysrus is gone ( I did get a few good games off the store closing clearence for the toysrus in albany however)
 
Man, everybody should jump on this, this is an incredible deal. Subsistence is one of my favorite games ever. I bought a copy for my friend through this deal the other day. I've beaten that game like 3 times, its soo much better than Snake Eater.

Picked up one @ 8.99, and added God of War (non-GH) and Magna Carta (boxed edition on clearance).

After the $10 off $50 coupon in the paper today, I walked out of there for 44 bucks.

Whee! :D
 
I'm OOS right now.

the last 4 i had will all be shipped out tomorrow...would have gone out today, but the keys got locked in the truck i was borrowing and i didn't get to the post office before close to get more boxes.

So, Will there be any luck for PMing this at CC? Now that it actually rings up at $8.99, how would I go about PMing this? Print the ad out? Photoshop it? I can't get a hold of a real one, so just print it out and try my luck?

Picked up the last copy left at the Albany OR Freddys. Rang up 8.99 and the cashier had a puzzled look on her face and said that was a great deal.

Sorry CAGs, I'm keeping this for me to play since i didnt play Snake Eater.
 
Score, I'm a Portlander visiting Bellevue, WA for the Penny-Arcade Expo when I heard of this deal. I drove right over to the only Fred Meyer's in the area and picked it up for 8.99, sweet deal.

I also took advantage of there Guild Wars deal, where you buy Guild Wars and Guild Wars Factions together and save 10 dollars off on coupon, and Factions was on sale for 39.99. Unfortunately they didn't have Guild Wars, so I thought I would ask about the coupon, and the clerk was super nice and gave me the coupon on factions, so, 50 dollar game for 30. I am definitely not complaining.

But I forgot to tell them I was an Oregon resident, and as such, got charged sales tax (for those not in the know, Oregonians do not need to pay sales tax in Washington state when they show ID). Oh well, small price to pay.

Sorry Riyonuk, the one I got was the only one at the Bellevue Fred Meyer, and since I'm not currently in Portland, I can't check around there. Additionally, there are no Fred Meyer's closeby.

it was part of a weekly ad that ended Saturday, so I wouldn't waste your time trying to hunt down copies. Plus the games only $24.99 after GGC at Bestbuy so $20.16 isn't exactly a huge deal.
 
If you didn't get on this and don't mind used you might want to check Blockbuster. They are having a 50% off Sale (YMMV) on games/dvds (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105667). Anyways, I scored a copy for $6.50 after the discount, but I went to another and it would have cost me $12.50. So like it says YMMV, but there is a chance you can score a cheap copy.
