MGS 3 subsistence + SAGA DVD for 29.99 at gamestop.com!!

on top of that, I'm guessing that the general public had no idea that a "Limited Edition" even existed. It is weird Konami bother giving a copy of the limited edition to website such as ign for review when you can't even order the game (not even from their official website WTF).
i'm also mad at gamestop. did they have no fucking clue as to how many preorders were made??

I got an email from GS stating that there was an error in their system and my item failed to ship on time.

As a result, they are refunding the cost of my shipping, and they gave me a $5 coupon code as well.

That's different.
 
I hate gamestop because screwed over my pre-order and its BS from Konami. Is there any site or place where i can complain to konami im pissed. That they can make enought for Japan but not enough here in the US

Konami is a Japanese company. Why would they give preferntial treatment to Americans? Japan already has a severe dislike for anything American when it comes to gaming.

Metal Gear Solid 2 was released in the US first, then JAPAN.
 
But the better version came out in Japan. It's kind of like Final Fantasy Internation Final Remix or whatever the hell they called it.

That is true for SquareSoft (and a lot of other japanese software companies).
It seems like the best version of the game is released in japan only.
I don't understand why since FFX, Kingdom hearts etc. sold a gazillion copies too in the US.

But "Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance" (the better version of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty) was released in the US too. So I don't think Konami is bias against the U.S (even though a lot of japanese companies might be

don't blame it on Konami cause they're not the one who screwed you, this was a limited edition and they did what they were supposed to by producing a set numbers of copies, unlike those fake limited editions of Halo 2 and Ultimate Spiderman, Gamestop just had no right to take more orders than what they could fulfill
 
Speaking of MGS2:Substance, why the heck the PS2 version is so expensive now while the XBox and PC verisons can be found rather easily and cheaply?

Yeah. There's a bunch of us that got screwed over. I emailed both GameStop/EB Games and Konami about the whole Limited Edition matter. Konami hasn't replied and GameStop is just trying to sweep the whole matter under the carpet. You can view my letter in the following thread:

"Since this was simply a case where we were unable to fill your order, there is no compensation to be given. When your order did not come in, you the consumer had the right to not purchase the regular edition and get a refund for your deposit. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience but we have no control over the manufacturer’s decision to make the quantity they decided on."

There has to be something that can be done...
 
Its just a stupid movie, and its a sucky movie at that, please people, just get over it.

I could see if Metal Gear 1 and 2 were only part of the LE, or maybe something integral to the gameplay and enjoyment of Metal Gear Solid 3, but it is just a movie!! Save yourself the headache and money and just get the regular.

Every Subsistence thread always devolves into "I didn't get the LE" or "I want the Saga DVD"... neither are really worth pulling your hair out over.

I know. But I guess the limited edition just makes me want the "extra stuff". The fact that the extra dvd is there makes me feel like I'm not receiving everything that should come with the game, despite how crappy the existence dvd may seem to people. It just feels more... complete. At any rate, I still find it irritating that I didn't get what I was guarenteed to receive.

All I have to say is that the xbox version sux compared to the ps2 version. The controls are worst and I think the main reason is that the ps2 version had the skateboarding on it and the xbox version did not.

The xbox one has the skate boarding as well. I don't remember if you have to unlock it or not, but its there. The main reason substance is more than the regular MGS2 is cuz no one bought it. When it came out most ps2 owners already had MGS2, and if they didnt they had a choice between a $19.99 GH version or a $49.99 Substance. So you don't see nearly as many substances as a result. I mean, has anyone here bought substance when it came out? I know I wanted it, but wasn't going to pay $50 when I had the regular one. I only got it cuz of the great $5 CC clearance.

I loved MGS3 but was pretty disappointed by the movie too. You'll soon realize how retarded some of the bosses are.

I'll probably will auction my LE on eBay and get a reg version to play.

Mine shows both items shipped by UPS but the tracking # doesn't work. That means they already printed the label but I'm not sure if UPS has the actual package yet.
 
Mine shipped too. It shipped 3 day select when I used FREESHIPALL. Weird. Anyways, it says the Saga shipped with the game too. I hope they'll let me return B&M...

Well, perhaps it's not online @ GS.com. But when I called corporate to return the new Shadow Hearts because of the lack of pre-order bonus, the phone rep told me to return it in store. If I got flak, they told me to have the manager call them and clear it.

So I returned it in store w/ no problem. Even got cash back. :shock:

My order came in the mail today! I was relieved to see the SAGA dvd when I opened it up. I ordered mine a few days after this post, so there might be more left. Now I can sell my extra!

Regional post but 1 of the Hamilton Ohio Game Crazy's (north of Cincy) has like 6 limited edition MGS 3 Subsistence still in stock. They also had a couple dvd's left they give out when you buy the game.

Damn. I thought the one I ordered online included disc 3. Looks like it JUST includes the "Saga" DVD. To get disc 3, I needed to find an LE. Dammit!

I am about 5 hours away from Cincy now. Your best bet would be to either call the store and see if they can ship one to you or post in the Ohio Regional thread.

Tried to return my Subsistence to a EBgames last night and was refused. Supposedly EBgames will not take returns from Gamestop.com yet. At least this is what this manager said. Said I could only return it to Gamestop since their systems haven't completely merged yet, only their websites.

Sigh, so retarded.
 
I just got mine in the mail today and it had the Saga DVD with it. I was pleasantly surprised I still got it at this late stage in the game! I ordered it with "Finny the Fish" so it was a good deal with the free shipping too! Finny & Snake, together at last!

I don't understand how not setting a limit on special offer can be accepted by the gaming community. IMHO this is false advertisement, but companies get away with it because they include "Offer good while supplies last" This goes the same with reserves, the company has a general idea of how many they're getting in. Due to the fact they don't want to lose business, they lead the customer to think they're getting in on the "Special" deal.
 
I finally got around to taking back my copy to gamestop, cause I wanted another saga dvd. The only problem is that they told me that they received an e-mail stating they no longer accept online returns, which is just dumb. You can only get store credit. Be warned!

I think the managers at these places are just making shit up. Everyone seems to have an excuse to not take back games.
