MGS4 Bluetooth Headset $39.99 at BB June 12th - review added

Is the headset made from the same manufacturer that has the Warhawk w/ headset bundle pack?? If it is, I'll wait for the Warhawk bundle to go down in price in the near future.

No, I think the rumor was that these were made by Pelican? Warhawk is bundled with Jabra headsets.
Well I do need a bluetooth headset and I'm sure this one will work the best since it says MGS4 on it :whistle2:k
Duh, obviously! Look at GameStop has said about this...

Straight from Snake’s item inventory to your living room

Do you honestly think the world's greatest operative would bring some junk onto the field of battle? Me thinks not.

Pelican fails at everything. If this were made by any other 3rd party I would have considered it.
That thing looks pretty snazzy. Anyone know if it will work with the iphone/sidekick?
It should, since it would just be a bluetooth headset, just like any bluetooth headset generally works with the PS3.

Would Snake be purging it from his inventory if it was so great or allow his enemies to be able to get a hold of one of his great technologies?
review added for the skeptics...after that, i will pass on this and wait for the SOCOM one
Same, could forgive the size but sounds like crap

not surprising that the headset sucks considering the mfr.
more of konami's hardware stupidity on top of the 40GB limited set for $100 more

Damn, that thing sucks. I'm a big MGS fanboy, but not if it's crap like that. Gah... I was going to purchase that along with my limited edtion game, even at gamestop, now it's a pass even at 39.99.

I might've gotten this if it had been manufactured by some other company, but Pelican makes nothing but crap.

Looks cool, though. I guess once I find one for $5-$10 I'll pick it up just for the neat value, but that's it.

That really sounds like a piece of shit!

I wonder how's the quality of the Jabra headset in the Warhawk bundle?
word

add Nyko & MadCatz to that list too.
Nyko makes some decent stuff. Lots of people seem to enjoy the Perfect Shot.

People seem to like it.

Pelican makes some good stuff, I love their PS2/PS3 adapter lol.

Nyko has some good products too. Although I don't think the Perfect Shot is that good. The upcoming Pelican gun looks better.

Mad Catz has some good products too. But if I had to say for sure, they all have their good ones and their bad ones. Sadly more people give these US peripheral makers more shit than praise for their few good items.

Hori is probably my favorite peripheral company, but even then it is very obvious that they play it safe.

I wish UT3 had bluetooth support from the get-go cause I spent a ton of time playing that online before the big update (which fixed the frame rate and added bluetooth support).

Oh yeah now I remember why I was going to post, why don't you guys have bluetooth yet? Warhawk come'on. You guys have PS3 but no Warhawk?

Yeah, gamedealdaily.com's Warhawk/Jabra headset deal ($10 + $5 shipping) a couple of days ago was way better.

Well the truth is that most gaming accessories are commonly less complicated technology-wise than than bluetooth headsets, so any of them you buy from the mfrs I listed above will probably be crap.

It's only going to be worth it typically if it comes from a company that makes them like Jabra(Gnnetcom)/Plantronics/motorola.... etc
and even then it's on a model by model basis.

Konami obviously went for the best "value" licensing bid

Nyko makes an excellent Perfect Shot Wii gun, and also a cheap PS3 IR dongle that lets me use my non-Blutooth universal remote, so I have to disagree, zoglog.

On topic, I watched the video, and wow the audio quality sounds terrible. That being said, I would probably buy it at $5 like someone else said, because it looks cool.

I got that headset, and it seems to work pretty good.

oyi, originally, i was thinking getting one and seeing it's $30, it's a pretty good deal, but it's a bad product... Thanks op, i think it will be in the clearance bin for $5 or something.

yeah, glad i could help everyone see what a waste of money this was...if it wasn't for that review, i would've bought it.

oh well, if this does hit $5-10, I'd buy it and leave it packaged up just for collection's sake

I bought one for me and my friend from BB for 39.99 a piece and we haven't had too many issues. It's really good so long as you don't turn the volume up too much because then the person talking to you can hear them self echo. The fact it can't cancel out noise hurts it a bit but its pretty good blue tooth headset. But thats just my own opinion on it.:)

I picked it up with the bundle last night. Just based on quick testing today - its pretty good. The Sound quality is nowhere near how bad was in that review video. He had a bad unit, Bad connection or something else.

On the nitpick side: It lacks features like the noise cancelling and i would have maybe have liked to seen different ear loops based on wearing it for abit tonight. Also - I would have liked to have seen the charging cord be tad longer - but i can understand the desire to make it fit in the case with th headset.

Overall - Its not bad - Was worth the $40 IMO ($35 since i used a $5 RZ coupon).
I can write a better review after really using it in the coming days / weeks.
