Pretty much. And I like the PS3's opening screen because of the sound effect (y'know, the whole music test thing.) I really like the upscaling it does though.

Speaking of which, I decided after checking my paypal account that I'd buy both Odin Sphere and Paper Mario tomorrow morning... I wanna check the Fry's ad tomorrow just in case, then I'll go out and get 'em. And my copy of Psyvariar 2 Ultimate Final got here today, so that's also good news.

yeah, upscaling is what made me keep it... you were right about SotC-- the colossuses (colosi?) look amazing in HD.

as for opening screens, was the PS1 the first one to have one?
also, the xbox ones have been bad so far-- like they're out to kill my subwoofer. I always have the volume to high when I turn on my 360 and it always scares the shit out of me. :lol:
 
Do they have the Friday ads out yet? I know that the Friday ad always has the deals and the Wednesday one's a cocktease. At any rate, Odin Sphere wasn't in the Wednesday one. It was like $3 off last week, so I was hoping for $5 off this week.

How is the 360 one out to kill your sub? There's no LFE (low frequency extension, nub) at all there. You must not have sound equipment equal to mine. Hahahahahahahaahahah.

Errr.. and I think the PS1 wasn't the first... maybe the Sega CD or the PC Engine CD. I think CD based consoles all had to have some sort of boot up screen.

You know, I have to agree with you there. Simple and elegant, where the 360 opening is loud and anouying. The Wii gets the most props, mainly for not even having a opening :lol:

I might. It's maybe 30 minutes away, but I do like giant electronic stores. Although, don't they mainly carry lower-end electronics? That's all I seem to see in the ads.

Phew, I think I'm done rewiring all my shit. I needed to get some cables for the PS3 so I can have that and my DVD player hooked up with HDMI... but everything's the way I want it now.

Anyway, this is enjoyable OTT. I will create another thread under a different, non-OTT title once Shrike's off.

Yeah, this is the fourth one in the span of a day or so. I started another thread though and it's just called general gaming thread or something.

I think it's cool cause it's like I'm saying "hey, this is boring, and I'd rather talk about this instead" and everyone else apparently agrees that they'd rather talk about something interesting coz people participate. In conclusion, I am always right.

And if I seem annoyed, it's because prior to this, my posts/threads/whatever gets messed with for no apparent reason way too consistently (which yes, is annoying) and it's as though we can't have a thread that doesn't consist entirely of complaining or arguing over menial issues.

But flooding the OTT annoys people. And you can't really carry on a discussion when your shit keeps getting buried. But! We have a lot of Cheap Ass Morons, so I'm sure we'll have a new thread to hijack within the hour... or at least pretty soon.

Unless another one is started, but it'd be more fun to just start a new discussion. Eventually somebody worth giving a shit about will notice and presumably give us the "ok." But apart from Shrike, nobody's said anything so...
