Why isn't it? Couldn't you just give me your steam info and I can register my copy as the PS3 one. The registration is just a one time thing isn't it.

oh man, i feel terrible for those who were scammed. I actually was suspicious of him way back during his very first lowball. He was using a fake account to bid on his own items and it was glaringly obvious to me, but I debated on whether or not to speak up. For whatever reason, I decided not to say anything since IIRC the lowball was held to pay his kid's hospital bill or something???

Anyway, if I did spoke up about that then maybe all those scams could have been prevented.

I went back and checked real quick:

The fake account was l-aidguy , I noticed it got suspicious here. That was back on 11-27-10, so yeah, I guess I should have said something. I think I didn't say anything was because at the time I thought Edwin29 was in on it too and only him and laidguy was bidding at the time. I guess Edwin29 wasn't in on it.

Oops sorry for the long post, good luck with the last day guys!

Oohhh... That did seem painfully obvious. I think we as traders really need to do a better job of reporting to the mods even when we have only an idea that something could be wrong. Based on how close together the posts were from both accounts, I'm sure he wasn't IP masking.
Certainly something the mods could have checked on back then and probably kept this whole thing from happening.

I wonder if it's possible to make a sticky just for member with X amount of feedback (say 100+?) to post in and chat about things like this when they come up.

I don't know about you, but I have done a heck of a lot of tracking down user info and researching people just because so many people PM me about lowball issues. Would certainly be easier to do it as a community of strong traders rather than on my own or with a single mod or even two swinging by here and there. Possibly even take some work off their plate? I dunno...

He always rubbed me the wrong way, I just thought it was funny that he was in dire need for money for his child/wife and afterwords like nothing at all became a big baller and wanted to buy trade here on CAG. I think he even pmed me one time to get trade/buy from me but I just ignored it.

Yeah, I never bid in any of his lowballs because he seemed mad sketchy. I remember in one of his lowballs the DS Castlevanias and Chrono Trigger were going for like $30 (and they weren't even sealed).

I remember that lowball :D I ended up paying like 430.00 for everything, I knew most of the games were overpriced but he said he needed the money for his kids treatment or something, so I didn't feel bad at that time thinking I was helping his family. Besides he had a excellent feedback at that time, so there was no reason to believe the guy was a first class scammer LOL. And that laidguy was really suspicious since the beginning, he would go offline for 15 minutes and come back to the lowball to make crazy bids, after the lowball was over gameguy contacted me saying that laidguy couldn't paid for his games because he lost his job that same night, and he wanted to know if I can take the games for the same prices laidguy won it. Sorry for the long post, but just wanted to add my two cents LOL
 
^Sorry to hear about that Edwin. Seems like he scammed in more ways than one.

Used Random.org to get the end time a little while ago.
SCAM Aid '11 will be ending at a random time within the next hour.
 
OP has been updated with the drawing information for the games. I'll be waiting to get info from the 11 members that were scammed.
 
For steam games, it will probably be easier to get an email address. To send directly through steam, I will have to add them as friend to get them to show up on the list.
 
Nice to see everything worked out in the end. The bidding didn't get too crazy towards the end but every little bit helps.
 
That guy tried his hardest to rip me off but i didnt believe him. Guess i was right. He kept trying to say he never got the Kinect i sent him. Now i see he most likely did and i was right. Its always sad when things like this happen and its too bad there isnt much to be done about it.
 
I will get the steam games out sometimes this week... saturday at the latest.

copy paste emails into steam gift management is just too much work...

I picked up GBA game with my share, and of course, I received the humble frozenbyte bundle too.

The manage gift thing is kind of bugged? some of the copies still show unsent so hit me up in PM if you have not receive them. I will resend. I just not sure which copy I selected went to who and I don't want to send the same copy to multiple person (I may already have before I realize they were still showing unsent...)
