Michiana Wii/PS3 Camping
Was wondering if any of y'all from Michiana (Northern IN Southern MI) were planning on camping out for the PS3 and/or Wii?
I work at one of the Kalamazoo Meijers and my roommate and I are camping out there. I actually live in Three Rivers which is only about 15 minutes from the Indiana border. If you plan to possibly go to a Meijer, just let me know ahead of time and I can tell how many Wiis each individual Meijer store is getting.

That sounds great. I'm not really sure where we are planning, but probably Best Buy. I work there, so I can know exactly how many we get.

I'm in Ann Arbor--I have a lot of credit built up at both Walmart (about 1300) and Gamerush (about 800), but haven't heard anything about the number of consoles they'll be getting at launch or about pre-orders, etc. Anyone know anything about this? I would prefer to camp somewhere where I can use my credit to buy the systems...

Please let me know if you hear anything.

Sorry to resurrect a two-week old post, but did any MI people preorder a PS2?

I was considering it, but I think I'm just going to camp out at Wal*mart (probably the Canton one) for a midnight release. I used some vacation days, just so i could have Thursday and Friday off for camping and the recovery...

No, I never buy consoles on launch day. I'll wait till I can get a deal. I bought a gamecube on metroid prime launch day when media play was giving away a free copy of metroid prime with a gamecube purchase. I'll wait for a similar deal on a must have for the wii.

I currently plan on buying the gamecube version of twilight princes, because the wii controls don't seem to fit a zelda game.

Is it true that Meijers will be doing raffles. I want to know before I decide where Im going to get a Wii. Thanks

I remember meijers in canton michigan did a raffle for the PS2, for 360 they had chairs set up with xbox 360 premium & core written on them. If you had a chair at midnight, you got the system. that seemed like a cool idea to me. the raffle system is so lame. at least with the chairs you know how many they have and people didnt have to guess how many theu are getting.

with that said, i already pre-ordered 2 ps3's and a wii. ill never wait again. I did the overnight wait at target for PS2 and 360 and while it was fun its getting a bit old.

anyway, good luck to us in MI getting a PS3 on launch. wii shouldnt be a problem.

Local meijer stores did the chair thing for the various coupon sales they had last week, and im pretty sure they'll do the same for these launches. I'm pretty sure im still doing the wixom target, but we'll see.

I would be getting Wii near benton harbor/st. joe, that's where i'm originally from, but i'm in milwuakee, wi now. My sister will be picking one up at meijer, in michiana though!
