Time to revive this topic... especially since the TRU thread is going on 439583953 replies. If you guys are looking to get anything from that sale, it looks like slim pickings thus far especially if it's gamecube games your after....
As of yesterday...
Ann Arbor: Bunch of DC sega sports bundles along with one copy of carrier (I bought the other), NBA 2K2 and WSB 2K2. I was looking to get NHL 2K2 but they must have sold both copies earlier.
Westland: More DC sports packs, 1 Soul Calibur 2 limited edition guide, regular edition guides and some star wars xbox game guide... that's about it really. I think they had a couple PS2 games... They also had a bunch of opened electronics on the table, but I don't think they were 90 percent off, I think some manager just decided to sell them off by placing them there. (and they had a display PSOne LCD Screen that they refused to sell me... ehh worth a shot)
Livonia: 1 copy of DC Marlin fishing (not sure if it was 90 percent off as it wasn't on the table but since every other DC game is I'd imagine it is as well) and of course more sports bundles, bunch of xbox sports titles and a few PS2 games here and there.
NOTE: They have a PSone system and screen combo here... the guy said it was 74.99 but I didn't bother having him scan it... I figure I'll let some other CAG pick it up.
Now a little story before I get to the Novi store... I was there earlier in the day hoping to find a copy of Gladius I had seen a week or so ago while killing time before a movie. Of course it was gone by the time I got there but I decided to browse around anyway. While I was walking around I came to the electronics case and noticed a clearance sign that said "Mobile Video Cassette Player was 299.99 now 139.99".
As I looked at it I remembered reading about something similar in a sleep deprived daze earlier that morning. So I figured what the hell and asked one of the employees if I could trouble him to do a price check for me. I told him that a friend of mine had said he picked up something like that for a lower price at one of their other stores. So he said no problem, wrote down the item number and checked it. When he hit the button I saw his face kinda shift. I saw 139.99 promo flash before he quickly cleared it. "You thought it was a green tag item right? Nope 139.99... sorry" he said. I figured he was telling the truth and went back to look at some of the older clearance games.
While I was back there I noticed the guy swing round again and glance in the case at the player. He saw me then started to talk about the 90 percent off sale. "It's weird... it's regional. Some items that scan 90 at certian stores don't scan at others." That didn't seem to mesh with what I knew about the sale (general clearance prices vary but not what items are actually green tagged) but once again I gave him the benefit of the doubt. "Would have been a pretty sweet deal though huh?" He said glancing back at the player. From there our conversation died out and I walked out. I paused by the DVD's for a second and felt like he was watching me until I finally left the store....
Now at this point I went to livonia... and I was planning to go right home from there but as I neared the exit for 14 I just felt the nagging urge to go back and see if it was still there. I mean how many VCP players can there be? If it wasn't... I'd know the guy lied to me.
So I walk into TRU at head straight to that section, I don't even look over to see if he's around. I look into the case and sure enough it's gone, shelf tag and all. Now if he had simply price checked it and fibbed I would have been a little more sympathetic, but the fact that he not only lied to me then but went out of his way to lie to me repeatedly and try to act all friendly towards me pissed me off.
So I walk back, expecting to find him standing there but instead another employee, who looked like a manager to me, was standing there... I asked him if the guy with the glasses was still here and he said he had just gone on break and asked what the problem was. I explained what had happened to him and he instantly went and started searching the backstock room. He then looked under the counter and found, shocker here, the VCP... He took it and rang me up right away and was nothing but cool about the whole thing. So I got my 14 dollar VCP player and all was well...
Aaaaanyway sorry about that, had to get it off my chest cause it frustrated the hell outta me and I know some of you frequent the Novi store (I hope the guy wasn't ur friend

) but here's what's left
Novi - Space Invaders (GBA), Sega Sports Pack (DC), Bass Fishing (DC) 1 copy, bunch of Everquest whatever for the PS2, some 3rd party PS2 controllers , 2 multitaps (for the psone I think), a few Xbox sports games, assorted ps1 games and a ton of copies of Perfect Dark.
Thanks for baring with me on that post guys... and if you find a place with some different N64 or DC games... or ANY gamecube games for that matter, let me know.
