Micro faceplates?

Is Nintendo going to be selling these retail, online, or both?

How many are available?

Is it possible to buy a Famicom faceplate?

They are selling them on their website . The same ones that come standard.
No Famicon as of yet. I think they were 5 or 6 buck's.
I may pick-up a black one so I can have an all black Micro if I decide to keep it.

It'd be great if we had that Nintendo Club thing over here, so they could give cool faceplates as reward for buying their games.

Well they kinda do have a similar thing here, they just don't give us any rewards (save for Zelda collector's edition), the bastards.

There are alot of awesome ones on that site. My favorite out of the bunch:

If Nintendo starts cranking out these faceplates, I just might be tempted to buy a micro.

I really like my camo faceplate, but I would love to see nintendo put out a bunch of different faceplates for a reasonable price.

Two things:

1) I skimmed that site, and I swear there are dozens of duplicates on it. I saw 2-3 of the Fujifilm "green with a white stripe moving in a down/right slant direction" faceplate.

2) What is stopping Nintendo from releasing some sort of PC program that would allow you to print out your own faceplates? Hell, they could release specialized vinyl paper to feed through a printer...though I guess that kills their profit for future faceplates...

Meh...I'd get the program. That would be badass. Huge, elephant-sized pigs!

Naw, don't even need to get that complicated, just have someone release a clear faceplate and print out things to stick below it! Viola, printable skins that are protected!
