Microsoft getting sued over Xbox Live Outage

Well, keep in mind that it's a class action suit. So if they win, or settle, all X-box live members would get a letter giving them the option to be part of the class. So in the end it wouldn't end up being very much at all per person.
I may email him and find out what type of relief/damages he is seeking, and possibly join the class.
You really only need to worry about opting OUT of class action lawsuits. Once a settlement/verdict is reached, they put notices in places affected people would be likely to see it that say something like "this is your remedy under this lawsuit. if you accept this remedy you agree to be bound by the judgment and recognize that you may not bring a lawsuit of your own. if you object to the terms of the settlement or wish to opt out of the class, respond to [address] by [date]"

sheit...12 days is mad expensive apparently.

well i hope the gamers actually win. M$ didnt respond to them about the service outage and they have every right to be outraged. i would be pissed too, if i coudnt log on to XBL and play COD 4 because M$ apparently cant handle the up in bandwidth of new users logging in. its like if you are at a restaurant and your completely ignored by all the waiters and waitresses. I know i would be throwing my fork at someone's head to get attention to my table. Shouldnt that have been forsight enough when they put out so many systems during the holidays? they must have some geniuses working their if they cant handle bandwidth with unlimited amount resources they have. M$ can be real pathetic at times.
there are so many things wrong with your statement Its a wonder you can even operate an Xbox 360, never mind use a computer to post on this forum.

"M$ apparently can't handle the up in bandwidth of new users logging in"

new users logging in doesn't "up the bandwidth" it requires MORE bandwidth... but MOST importantly, requires more servers to handle the load (or at least, more powerful servers). what happened is so many people tried to log in it crashed a number of their servers (sort of like a hacker and a denial of service attack on a website)

now while I'm not trying to defend M$ (I'm not the biggest M$ fan to begin with) they don't have "unlimited" resources (no one does.... they just have a substantially HIGHER amount of resources than most anyone else not named Google).

Now, I agree with you on 1 point, they knew they were selling these systems for the holidays, and knew that a TON of people would most likely be getting these sold systems on dec 25th... how could they NOT see this coming?

Keep in mind, if M$ loses, after the lawyer takes his HUGE fee (I'm guessing close to half), anyone in the class action will get a pittance, most likely less than the value of the game M$ is offering.

The only winner is the blood sucker.
