Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition - 1600 points

I'm glad to have Autosave, although each time it starts the process of auto-saving; I freak out like "WHAT IS HAPPENING? NONONONOh, it's just the autosave."

I dropped my settings down to Peaceful as well, which is great - I had back to back to back Creepers blow the hell out of the eastern wall of my fort and rail station. It's nice being able to build without having to watch your back all the time.

most of you prly know this but for those who dont.. you can put a bucket of lava in the furnace for fuel and it will be good to make 100 objects i think

really comes in handy for turning all those balls of clay into bricks

I use it for turning cobblestone to stone, very handy.

I found a thread on the Xbox.com forums with 100 tips for Minecraft 360; pretty good read - there were a few things I didn't know, like about crouching on bricks. Saved my life!

playing Minecraft on the Xbox gives you a new appreciation for the game. I played it on 47" and a 65" TVs and it just looks amazing some times.

I'm still watching Minecraft tutorial vids and most of them are for the PC of course. And I just can't get over how tedious crafting objects is for making anything on the PC. I think 4J Studios did a really amazing job taking the essence of Minecraft and building a great interface.

I do disagree on where the bonemeal should've been categorized though... :p

Just started a new world with the seed "Hatsune Miku" and it's pretty awesome here. Found some clay and a nice cave with a lot of open iron ore and coal. Setting up shop here for a bit and then I'm going to go hunting for some dungeons. There are a few here according to other forums on the net.

My son used the "Glacier" seed (not sure if it is capitalized) originally and when the patch came with the coordinate display (getting dungeon coordinates off the web for that seed) he used that to find a ton of dungeons - I think he's up to 12 now. Meanwhile I've only ever found 2 in my world.

Yeah I agree, there quality on that and other videos is outstanding.

I get a little bit of Half Life 2 vibe with that video so it's automatically awesome. :applause:

That's a great idea, actually! I'll have to get something like that in my world when I get back into the game.
Did the recent patch add this forced autosave thing? I'm not a fan of the game stopping me while I'm playing just to do an autosave.
Yeah, but you can change how often it does it. I think you can put it as far apart as every two hours or something. Not that big of a deal.
My wife asked me what this game was about. Pretty sure I failed in trying to explain it to her.
It's about the MEANING OF LIFE!
I tried explaining it to a friend of mine, another very big gamer, and it made no sense, so I just gave up lol
Tell her that it's the videogame equivalent of LEGO.

Here's my new project, which is turning my mountain home into a big skyscraper. So far, it's four stories high just expanding a bit off of what I had already done in my first stint in this area. You can see my previous castle off to the right.

This is the farm that I have behind it that did have a chicken and sheep, but they somehow escaped while I took these pictures. I'm still trying to figure out that aspect of the game, though I last saved before I took the picture and can at least work on it some more.

This is the view of the top of the skyscraper from the farm, which I will probably expand upward a bit once I figure out how much room I'll have. Since I won't have use for every floor, I may do something weird and fill a few floors with water or lava to shake things up.

I'm expecting to have about 15 floors when it's done.

I've never understood the concept of animal farms. They just de-spawn when you leave the area, right?

Edit: I might post some creations soon. They aren't too good, but I've put some time into them.

yes, but when they update the game, the animals will keep so building farms is currently for the future.

I kinda bailed on the game for a few weeks. I did get drawn back in. I'll post of few pics of my small castle I built. Took some time for mining and building. Probably gonna wait a few months to start a new world with pistons and cats and dragons.

Edit:

That's the epic sized door to my quaint castle. For some reason I felt the cross works with the old skool castle.

My awesome hockey rink. All the snow blocks/colored wool is under the the ice. The Triforce platform is based of Ocarina of Time. The starman fountain freezes over the eyes but I'll fix it.

That's my main area there. It's five floors. The two in the back are going to have staircases leading to the 5 floors but not the top. The fire is the "roof" of the world. The front left tower has a door at the top the has a hole that goes from just under the highest height to bedrock.

It's fairly easy to become addicted to accomplishment when you start with nothing and then you gain something.

I can't explain my addiction either. I like to tunnel. I'm about 1/2 around the perimeter of the map. I hope to have a rail through the entire outer tunnel. Next, I'm planning on hollowing out the biggest mountain on my map.

I can't explain why.

You just summed up everything.

I have to admit I have stopped playing in favor of Xenoblade Chronicles, but I was doing a project where I was using TNT to create a cavern around the entire perimeter of my world down at the bedrock level. Then I was making a railroad down there so you could ride all around and tossing paintings all up along the walls. Why? Well, no reason, really, other than that it was something to do ;).

I might get back to that a bit tonight.

My friends and I just built a pyramid with a 48x48 base out of stone. It was a group effort and we got it done pretty quick. It was so big once finished that a single torch did nothing at all when placed. They want to keep it one story, but I think I want to go in and add a bunch of levels and make it pimp inside.

Other than that, this is killing time for me until THPSHD comes out.

Bah - my wool pyramid (a few pages back) has a base around 65 or so ;). It extends further on a couple sides because I built it into the mountains - but it is probably 70-something on at least one side.

I give up: THPSHD?
We built ours on water?
I'm just giving you a hard time ;).

I was also thinking of covering one of my edge of the world oceans with obsidian and building a scale model of the solar system. But I'd have to work out the sizes/distances and see if that even makes sense first.

I added you.

If anyone else wants to add me, or get "on the rails", feel free. My Gamertag is BrownWing.

Just finished all the achievements, on a rail took a long time. Atleast it was fun to make unlike trapping a stupid pig and making him fall lol.
