Missing Achievements

I had gotten a bunch of achievements in Oblivion and now they are all missing! Can anyone help? Here is the whole story:

I didn't have my 360 hooked up to the internet for a long while because I didn't see a point, for the distance between my 360 and my Ethernet access was too large and I don't have a LIVE membership at the moment anyway. I continued playing Oblivion offline, collecting various achievements. Later in the week I had gone to a friend's house and signed on to my account there. After I had finally hooked my own 360 up to the internet again, it got rid of all my Oblivion achievements and replaced them with any that I had gotten while at my friend's house.

Okay, so that is the situation. Tell me, are my achievements gone for good?

****EDIT****

I forgot to add that I did account recovery when I had gotten on my friend's 360, then recovered my account again when I had gotten back on my own.

because you werent connected to live at any time, when you recovered your account at your friends house it only recovered what was known last, i.e none of the offline achievements that happened with someone who played 360 in iraq and recovered there account aswell

That's pretty much it. You did all your achievements offline, tied them to your own HD, then established your online account on another console.

Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, as I have played offline over the holidays and didn't have mine erased when I reconnected afterwards, but all of that was done on the same console. Recovering the account is asking the system to ignore what you have done offline and to bring you their last known record of your account.

An alternative would have been to take your hard drive to your friend's house, and move your account onto it, but I don't think that's possible.

This is the one and only reason I bought an MU... well, that, and I found it on clearance.

You wont get them back.

its like how I 1ked Madden 07 without loading NCAA 07. You had to go offline, get the achievement, then recover the account. It gives the achievement but not the game played (Ncaa 07). Its hard to explain

But you have to redo the achievements. Hence why you dont recover your account and not be online at the same time.

I did this in Ninja Gaiden II recently as well. Only I'm having the awkward problem of all the achievements I got while not logged on, I now can flat out no longer get. So I'm forever stuck at ~200 or whatever, and it says I'm still in like chapter 11, even though even after playing online again I got up to ~14 i believe. So who knows wtf is up now.
