Considering how bad everyone is saying RAW has been , I'm thinking that for the time being instead of watching it , instead I'll catch up on some of the wrestling dvds that I have that I haven't watched yet.
holy shit.. so if hes comin anyways.. y not as joes adviser
they could go double swerve and have joe take out the MEM from the inside...
in all honesty i thought they were gonna make the nation of violence a stable, when he wrestled young and tossed him in the back of a car i was fully expecting him to turn to joes way of thinking and join the nation of violence and then they would in turn start getting new recruits with taz as advisor
The original FTW is back. I bet Taz has been hangin' and bangin', he's in the best shape of his life and will be suplexing everyone he gets his hands on.
Or not.

That's what I was thinking too when he abducted both EY and Bashir.
Because it was A SWERVE~!
So I think I'm just going to ignore Raw once again. Smackdown! and ECW are fine enough, hell TNA might even be worth a watch.
After Sunday's PPV, TNA is without a doubt better than WWE at this point. Plus, anyone not watching ROH is missing the best weekly wrestling show going right now.

yeah, trump comes out with all these ideas and everything then vince just ruins them all and its back to SSDD, as stupid and as B list as they prolly wouldve been, i was kinda wondering what celebs the donald would pull... so RIP Trump RAW: June 22, 2009, 9:00 pm - June 22, 2009, 11:06 pm
I live in the area, so I bought the cheapest seats possible for The Bash on Sunday. We get a meet & greet with Cody Rhodes on Thursday and a Rev Theory concert before the PPV on Sunday, so it can't be that bad of a way to spend $30 on two tickets.
john laurinitis is trying to use whatever push he has to get wwe involvement on the noah-new japan-all japan show at the differ ariake in july. Reportedly, the guys he has in mind for the trip are cm punk and evan bourne, and judging by the fact wwe will be in japan around the time the noah show is happening, it seems likely they let them work the show since it won't be seen in the states.
I think the rating has more to do with no commercials compared to Donald Trump. When he came in for WM the other year I don't remember it pumping ratings or buyrate.
I really hope the WWE realizes that, and doesn't think that somehow people actually believed that Trump bought RAW and were drawn to watch because of the storyline. Isn't this RAW's highest rating in years?

actually LOP made note that it was one of the highest ratings this year, but WWE also drew the same rating in january
Memorable show from TNA. The X Title opener was fantastic, and I liked having the Guns take a dive to make a member eligible, and both the ladder walk>jump off the cage spot, along with the ladder walk across Jay Lethal's back spots were amazing to see. Given how little the match itself was built up, it greatly exceeded my expectations, and if they're going to do a second KOTM match per year, this is a far better way to do it than giving it away on Impact with no build. Despite all the cool stuff, Don West's commentary was the star of this match.
Daniels-Douglas was way better than expected. Shane's pre-match promo was solid, and I liked him refraining from swearing. I'm not sure if it's just him being put in there against top-level workers or if Douglas is really trying hard, but both of his matches since returning have been way better than they've been in at least a decade.
The monster's ball was sloppy at times, but had more memorable spots than usual thanks to the women. Daffney was the star of this match, taking a sick landing either on or near the steps with her head, then going through a table, and THEN taking a tack bump off of a choke bomb from Taylor. It's a shame that wasn't the finish, especially since the faces won anyway.
Sting-Morgan wasn't built up well, but I liked the match. Aside from the botched death drop after the countered Hellevator, everything here looked pretty good, and I liked Sting having to break out something rarely seen, a second-rope death drop, to win. I don't think Morgan gained much from this match aside from facing a higher-level guy, and not just beating jobbers.
The tag title match was basically the usual good-to-great 3D-Beer Money Inc. match, only more memorable due to the top rope dive off the top to the floor by Ray. The British Invasion were set up nicely as second-tier heels in the division - if only they were given a chance to shine on TV so their involvement in the match would have meant more.
The main event was also good, and while it wasn't as highlight-worthy as the opener, it did feature some great stuff, like Joe and Foley finally mixing it up in a match, and Joe making Foley tap out to the choke. Foley's elbow off the top of the KING OF THE MOUNTAIN CAGE ruled, and I was amazed to see him actually hit it. I had flashbacks of him falling short at WM 2000 when he was going for this, and fortunately, his landing here was far less damaging to his health. The big twist ending was... a surprise. Not a huge one due to Joe turning heel, which he's basically been for months after, you know, assaulting guys with a giant knife, but having him side with his biggest rival in TNA was definitely surprising. But a good surprise, as they have had the whole respect deal going throughout their feud.
As much as everyone makes fun of Taz, in his day he was a badass motherer. I always liked his style.
I was a big Taz fan back in ECW. His WWF run was disappointing, though, by comparison. However, that pop he got when he debuted against Angle was unreal.
I too was a big Taz fan during his ECW heydays. His dominance is memorable, and his suplexes, legendary. I never took note of his smaller stature, as it didn't matter. I also agree that his WWE run made me a sad panda. I didn't even like his debut match, to be honest, as he didn't dominate like the Taz I knew. Of course, it would have been a poor decision to job out a rising star in a young Kurt Angle, but I definitely wanted to see Taz suplex and Angry Man clothesline him around the ring.

Performances and negotiations: A case study of a wrestling referee
Abstract The experience of a wrestling referee is examined in terms of the performances and negotiations that take place. The author concludes that the role of referee sheds considerable light on the process of normative negotiations. The referee is responsible for maintaining social order in tenuous social situations. The audience's vision of the ldquoidealizedrdquo sporting contest can never be realized. It is the referee's job to personally take on the inconsistencies and ambiguities of reality and to ritualistically transform the actual contest into the ordered contest they all desire.
I didn't have much in the way of expectations for Raw going into it, but I liked it on the whole. The lack of commercials allowed for, well, less of an excuse for short matches, and some funny stuff - like Grisham scolding J.R. for looking at the chicken, and Punk's wacky glance directly at it. Santina's write-off, with Santino running in instantly and declaring that she had a good run, ruled. Most of the matches on the show weren't great, but I liked the WWE Title match. It had great intensity and was definitely a PPV-quality match.
It also made me want to see their PPV match, which I hope ends their feud. Of course, it'll probably stretch out to Summerslam since that's the biggest show of the summer, but I have no idea how they can do that after having them in seemingly every kind of match except for a Cell in the span of about three months. Vince getting a piggyback ride from his driver was AWESOME as was the Goldust bit. Goldust and Horny, in super-short segments like this, are hilarious.
Show-Cena dragged, but I dug the Miz getting involved in the ending, and Cena going SPLAT amused me. Cena losing makes me think that he'll win at the PPV, which isn't what I want to see happen, so I hope he loses two straight. He can certainly afford it, and the Miz definitely needs to go over, or have a really competitive match in order to not come off like a chump in this feud.

J.R. - Raw is brought to you tonight by Kentucky Grilled Chicken!
Gresham - Stay away from that chicken, J.R.
Samtino - My sister’s fired…I love her…Santina… EH, she had a good run!
Goldust - You remember Hornswoggle, right? He was your bastard child! I know Trump loves him, and I was thinking about giving him my wig - it worked so well for Goldberg. It’ll get over like gangbusters, won’t it, Horny?
Vince - DONALD TRUMP, YOU’RE FIRRRREEEDDDD!
Miz has come a long way from being someone who didn't really deserve his spot and only had it because of his past on reality TV. As much as I doubt it will happen, I hope he gets the best of Cena in this feud.
Taz was a bad motherer in ECW, his match with Bam Bam Bigelow where they went through the ring was nuts, then WWE ripped them off a year or so later I believe. Also his match with Shane Douglas, I think at Living Dangerously 99/00 (somewhere around there) was bad ass also.
This Miz/Cena stuff reminds me a lot of Cena/Taker in 2003. I'd say Cena may have been a bit more over at that point in his career than Miz is now, but Miz is getting there. I'm hoping their match Sunday will be a good one. I don't expect Miz to win, but hopefully they won't completely squash him. Taker still got the win in '03, but Cena came out looking good.
Taz was bad ass to the core, but before we got to see his personality in WWE, I witnessed first hand with me and my brother before a house show. Him and Tommy were signing autographs and taking pictures and we were with these two girls that the Dudleys had ripped hard in a promo. Well one of the girls loved Tommy Dreamer and she went nuts, and I remember telling Tommy don't mess with her, thats Bubba's girl...and laughing his ass off. It was cool to see him like that, cuz at the time, you never did. Taz got a raw deal, and it sucks, because the man could wrestle...
I'm not surprised that they're trying to get a U.S. release for the AAA game - AAA's U.S. shows usually do very well, and they've got an excellent presence in CA, drawing more than WWE to some shows. That reminds me, ROH's pre-HDNet PPVs did up to 10,000 buys in the U.S. - a number close to TNA's average of 15,000 despite TNA having a major national TV outlet to sell their shows on.

$10 vs $30.
Alternately, TNA charges 300% more for their shows and has 150% the viewership that ROH does.

im really digging all the miz/cena stuff too, when miz got drafted to raw i was half expecting to see him given his "best wishes" within a couple weeks, not running in on main events and facing john cena at PPV's
