MLB 2K6 thread

A patch that doesn't patch when its supposed to.
Where did I hear this before?

Come on MLBk26, hit $20 through Gamefly ;)
 
I received the patch this morning - and got through two games. One Quick Play, the other a Franchise, and I didn't have a problem. I erased my VIP and the two downloaded rosters I had. I had never been able to get past the third inning prior to today. Though from reading the forums there and on *shudder* gamefaqs - it seems many still have the problem.

And I too wish the 2K forums posters would die in a fire.
 
Well, it sounds like more "educated" posters are having better luck....no just asshats saying it doesn't work. I still didn't get a chance to log on and play.

Is there a COMPLETE LIST of players with the wrongs names in the game (Joe Young = Barry Bonds, etc, etc)
 
Well I bought the game last week. Never got past the 3rd inning, downloaded the patch, cleared everything, etc, and still freezes. Sigh.

People are still having problems even with the patch. It's a broke patch.
 
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones: tried 2 copies (rental and later purchased) and no freezing at all for me (before and after the patch).

Which is kinda ironic because after some extended playtime, I'm just not enjoying this one enough to keep it.

I would imagine it would be any no union player, ie kevin millar of baltimore and lou merloni (last i heard he was with clevand). Bonds has the rights to his name, I believe he had or was in development of his own baseball game a couple years back.
 
Well, I finally started my GM career (AGAIN). I finished TWO games with no freezes..yeah! MY players are finally starting to tire also, which is nice. Although, the stamina seems odd.

The game seem to have a few framerate issues still...not sure if 1080i is an issue with this game.
 
After renting it and thought it was pretty good, went out today and bought it from Fry's for $55 + tax. The rented version I had no problem with and so far, the one I just got hasnt gotten any freezes yet either (knocks on wood). Just worried about downloading the update because I heard a lot of people, who didnt have any problems, started to get the freezes all the time.
 
Well, I played two games fine...then I went to play another last night and it frooze on me in the 8th inning....usually it would crap out in the 2nd or 3rd. I'm frustarted with this game....I really like it, but I cannot take it if it keeps freezing. What are the odds of a class-action lawsuit against 2K for a faulty product.

This game has really grown on me!

I rented it when it came out and was frustrated by all the little flaws, although I never had any freezing problems, so I bought it.

I haven't had a single freeze in about 30 games and since I've downloaded the update and most recent roster update, it seems (maybe just my imagination:)) that some of the quirks like "0 homeruns + 0 RBI's last year" have disappeared.

It still has it's share of flaws, but I'm really enjoying it now....this coming from a huge MVP fan!

I think I've had 2 freeze on me...I haven't had a chance to play lately though. I was just annoyed. I mean they release a patch, and there are numerous people where the game still freezes.

I did finish TWO games, but then it froze.

I finally have gotten over my FREEZE aspect of the game.....however, I was playing last night against KC in my GM Career and they were on a COLD streak. Anyways...they had 14 ERRORS in the game and I won 32-0. It made the game not fun and I was actually getting myself out on purpose to end innings. Anyone seen this error glitch????
 
Holy resurrection! Anyway, I was thinking about this game the other day to to recent price cut. But does it still freeze all the time? Was there ever a patch released? I had it when it first came out, but got rid of it due to the problems.
 
Mine doesn't freeze really....there was apatch released. I still "Clear the cache" each time I load a game though...that seems to work with everything. I haven't touched the game in a while though, with all my other games that are out.
