I've been dying for a baseball title to play on my DS or Micro. I've been looking for Baseball Advance for the GBA but now with this title coming out the idea of 2 screens sounds good. There's lots of uses for the extra screen if it's thought out.

I was originally going to just get this for the 360 but I may hold off on that one and grab it for my DS. Anyone read any reviews?

Oh, 19.99 versus 59.99 is sounding great too.

I am new to handhelds but I would love to see a good sports game come out for one. Of course, I haven't tried madden for the DS.

i'd reccomend drinking a few newcastles and prowling the town with a baseball bat and cleats, looking for people who look like baseballs.

If you want a "realistic" baseball game, the PSP is probably going to deliver a lot better than the DS can.

But if you're like me and only play "Mario Sports" type games...well I guess we keep waiting, but there might be one :)

I keep checking for information on this game too. I have Baseball Advance and used to always keep it im my old DS. Now with the DS lite I dont carry GBA games w/ me anymore .

I didn't have much hope for Madden 07 on DS, but I like it. So, I want MLB 2k7 to be at least as good as Madden. N64 graphics w. great gameplay and season mode w/ good stat tracking would be ideal.

The lack of news seems to point to a crappy game though. The only reason I've ever contemplated getting a PSP is for the sports games.

Madden 07 stinks if you like dynasty/franchise mode (or whatever they call it). No players ever improve and drafted players are in the 50s and 60s (I think they assume improvement when giving those starting scores). Thus, after all current players retire, every team will stink to high heavens. Guess you should go with the youngest team if you play dynasty mode.

The graphics aren't great but doable and the controls are actually pretty good. The broken dynasty/franchise mode broke it for me though.

Maybe Madden 08 will finally be the one to give the DS a good sports game or MLB 2k7.

I'd like to see some good sports games on the DS but I'm not sure it's set up too well for it. I don't know that dual screens are that useful for most sports games. But maybe companies will figure out some good ideas.

Only fun sports game I've played so far on the DS was True Swing Golf. That was one of the more fun golf games that I've played.

I figured it was 2K8...that sounds about right for how early companies throw these games out anymore :D

They've had some decent baseball games on systems in the past (I still play Bases Loaded for the original Game Boy once in a while). Hopefully they don't mess this one up too much.

I used to love All-Star Baseball on the N64. If they can do that pretty well, I think we can see a decent game on the DS. And the two screens might be useful in baseball for playing defense.

I'd be happy with the top screen used for gameplay and the botton screen used for statistics and to show the tendency for batters. Maybe the bottom screen can show how much stamina a pitcher has and how the bullpen is warming up.

Supposedly comes out on the 19th. $15 after GGC is a definate buy for me. As long as it doesn't have as many glitches as Lego Star Wars.

I used some trade-in credit at eStarland to preorder it. They say it's out on the 20th.

BTW, I also just got Madden and I like it. I like the 2nd screen. Graphics are ok, not nearly as good as my PSP.

I want some information on this game! I will definately pick it up next week, but just want to see some screenshots.

The lack of information on the game is probably not a good sign. When a company has a good game, they usually make it available to the press to write about. I haven't seen anything on the DS version of 2K7 and that just cannot be good. But who knows, maybe it'll be a surprise, but if that's so the marketing people at 2K Sports should be fired.
Is this out today? Anybody get it yet?
On Saturday, I saw a big display at Best Buy with copies of the game for each platform except for the DS.

This is doubly weird, because I guess my BB broke the street date.

According to Amazon, the DS version has a release date of 3/5/07 and it's only shipping from some affiliate. Sorta looks like this game isn't coming out . . .

Saw some people over at the 2Ksports forums posted their impressions of the game and it is not good.

-No season/franchise mode (only exhibition, home run derby)
-Bad graphics
-Gameplay is slow

Shame, looks like a pass for me.

it might be forgivable to leave out a franchise mode, but no season mode either? thats not even lazy, thats just a slap in the face.

No way I'm buying with no season mode.
How stupid.

I can live with bad graphics if the game is fun.

I knew i shouldn't get my hopes up.

Yeah, it sounds like this game is pretty bad. That's kind of what I was expecting with the lack of info available. When companies don't show off their games, it's usually for a good reason. Hope this game flops, then maybe they'll put a little effort into next year's version, if they make one. For a system selling better than any other system out there right now, the DS is lacking good sports games. Maybe EA will make a good version of Madden this year, that'd be a decent start.

I'm still waiting for a website to post a review with screen shots of this game. Reading various message boards makes this game sound like a rip off for $20. I was really looking forward to this and didn't expect it to be that great, but I did expect it to be better than Baseball Advance (I was gonna sell it, glad I didn't).

Some company needs to jump in and develop quality sports games that are simulation even if not licensed by a league. I'd even be happy with a new version of little league baseball from the NES. I can envision some cartoony-but lifelike characters and don't want too much touch screen gameplay.

I'm starting to regret my preorder. No season mode? WTF? That's just plain dumb.

I have and like Baseball Advance. I kind expected a beefed-up version of that game.

I feel good about canceling my preorder now. I'll stick with Baseball Advance for now and I'm going to buy MLB The Show for my PSP.

Most 19.99 games are crap. Company is just hoping to break even.

It sounds like 2k didn't use the higher capacity ds cart so hence no season mode and the 19.99 price point.

It really is a joke not to include a season mode in a sports game. Best sports game on the ds is FIFA.

I've got 06 and like it. Which do you play? I was thinking about grabbing 07 or WE 07 for the wifi.
