Its all come down to this weekend to decide the matchups.

So here's to the teams that are in:

A's
Mets
Tigers
Twins
Yankees

And here's to the teams clinging to life:

Astros
Cardinals
Dodgers
Padres
Phillies
Reds

So get ready for it all to come down to the wire this weekend.

Start this thread off with a bang.

I have a weird feeling Jim Leyland doesn't want to win the division so he can face the Yankees immediately. I mean, they're gonna be facing them if they advance anyways, so maybe he figures it's good to just get them out of the way as soon as possible.

I really don't think Leyland is lying down. Although, the Tigers look a little sloppy after locking up a playoff spot. Leyland is playing other players also, saving some of the everyday players it seems. I think he is trying to decide who he wants on the playoff roster, which Maroth is EXCLUDED from. Sucks for him, but he is still coming back from a major injury. I wonder if Andrew Miller will make it....he looks like he will be a STUD. Could be Randy Johnson-ish.

Well, odds are Tigers will win the division, even though we are tied with the Twins. Tigers have 3 with KC (who they dominated), Twins have 3 with ChiSox.

It would be wicked if the Astros win the Central. My hopes were dashed when I opened the paper this morning - Pedro done for the year. We have no pitching and in the playoffs that's all that matters unless we can score 10 runs a game...

WTF are my Phillies doing? We had this down to the wire, now we're screwing it all up. Dodgers are gonna win the WC unless San Fran decides to show up for once.... Ugh. Go Eagles! :/

I can trace the collapse to three reasons:

1) Conine going 0 for 7 and 0 for 4 in the last two games against D.C.

2) Pat Burrell!!!

3) Runners Left on base

So Angry!!!!!

You forgot to add how all Philly sports teams are losers by nature. ;)
You forgot to add how all Philly sports teams are losers by nature. ;)
:bomb: It's the curse. The Umpires have been directed by MLB not to let the Phillies into the post season. LA = bigger market! It's a conspiricy...

Or something like that! :)

i felt the same way when i saw that last night on SNY. and hearing pedro talk in the interview it seemed like he had all but given up on coming back. even though we lost pedro..i dont think him pitching like this would make out rotation any better. the man got pelted in the last two outing..and if it carried on through the playoffs we would be ousted easily. i think the rotation is solid enough so the offense can try to create a big league. The Yanks have been going in to the post seasoin with mediocre pitching and had gigantic success...hopefully we can have the same.

Well, the Marlins made it interesting for a while. I'm pretty sure ownership doesn't want them to succeed so they can move them to San Antonio or wherever. Still have to give credit to the team for doing so much with so little. Joe Girardi will be manager of the year, but will then be fired...I've been through a lot with this team, but it's starting to get ridiculous.

Joe Girardi should be a contender for manager of the year. he fielded a team of rookies and they played great. Annibal Sanchez is gonna be the next big thing there.

I'm hoping the workers at the retirement home wake up the Giants, and tell them to beat the shit outta the fucking Dodgers.

Go Phillies. fuck LA.

My Cardinals are fucking everything up and my hometown Phillies are doing the same. Why can't either of my teams do good in September?

at least they are winnin 11-1 today, and they really should only be a game back with that robbed homer by utley

fucking Tigers.

"Hey, I have an awesome idea!"
"What is it, boss?"
"Let's bring in Grilli to relieve Ledezma!"
"But Grilli has been awful recently. Why not bring in Walker? He's great!"
"Ah, but that's what they WANT us to do!"
"SHAZBOT!!! YOU'RE A GENIUS, SIR!!!"
"I know, I know." *combs moustache*

"Ok, welcome to the Pudge Rodriguez school of hitting! Lesson one: always swing on the first pitch, no matter what!"
"Um, but what if it's low and outside?"
"Swing!"
"Intentional walk?"
"Swing!"
"Into the stands?"
"You swing at that shit, holmes!"

"Hey Brent?"
"Yeah Ned?"
"I want you to try and steal home if Pudge gets a flyout that's 8 feet away from third."
"But isn't that a horrible idea?"
"No, we always do this, trust me."
*is out by 85 feet*

Seriously, Jim Leyland needs to pull his head out of his ass and stop losing games for them.

 At least the Twinkies managed to fall just short in their rally. Odds of Tigers winning more games against the Royals than the Twins against the White Sox? Really good, thankfully.

Well the Reds, slim, postseason hopes come down to tomorrow. As does the Central with a Cards win and an Astros loss.

Lets go Brew Crew and Braves!

I think without Pedro at full strenght or even with him there the Mets will win the NL but lose to the Yanks in the WS. Unless someone beats the Yankees I think the Mets will wind up losing to them. I think they stack up well against Minnesota, Detroit or Oakland even without Pedro. But that Yankee lineup is ridiculous. If the Mets get a big starter or two in the offseaon they will be the team to beat. I'm not to happy with Hernandez getting the Game 1 start. But they have to work with what they have. Hopefully we score 5 + runs a game.

Hey remember at the beginning of the year when you said the Giants were the best team in baseball this year. HA, It feels fuckING good to have the NoCal's give one away. Sums up the year, way to choke on the big one Giants.

Right now we are tied for the division lead, and have clinched at least a tie for the wild card. I hope we win the division at your piece of crap park, and to celebrate Jeff Kent takes a massive steamer in Barry "Roid Rage, Big Head" Bonds locker.

Piece of crap park? Ya been at At&t Park? Probably not, it's better than the festering illegal mexican immigrants that are drunk at that piece of shit you call Chavez Ravine.

Jeff Kent can go fuck himself, and have fun getting the shit kicked out of you by the Mets. Enjoy, this little glimmer of hope you have for the short being, because your pitching = overrated.

But, I don't wanna keep you from that backlog of porn ya got stashed on your C: drive, so go have fun!

Wow great comeback, oh wait at least we get to have our assed kicked in the postseason. Wait the Giants and all the other No Cals will be at home with there below .500 record. Best Team in baseball huh?
Face it this was the last year your team had to do anything, and you blew it. Most of your team is over 40.
Pitching may be overrated, but at least our bullpen didn't toss a wild pitch with a runner on third.
And yes I may have porn on the C: drive, but at least it is straight porn. Not the way you No Cal's roll. Cock Chuggers!!

"All the nocals will be at home", ok, their's a team called the Athletics ya fuckin idiot. This was our last year to do something? Oh really? Cain, Lowry are both under 26. We are going to have tons of free space with Schmidt,Fins,Alou,Durham,Bonds leaving. Have fun getting swept.

The only reason you guys are anywhere is because of Ned Colleti the former GM of the Giants, he's an actual genius. Unlike that genius hire of DePodesta, you fucking idiots.

I swear to god, the Tigers' biggest liability right now is Leyland. The offense and defense were playing great last night and the night before (they scored 13 runs in 2 games for fuck's sakes) and they've been making great plays to turn possible doubles or triples into singles. But Leyland has this weird inability to realize that his starting pitcher doesn't have it and that Jason Grilli is awful, especially when compared to Jamie Walker, who is fantastic despite what happened last night.

Of course, sending Brent Cleven home on what was more or less an infield flyout was fucking stupid. And you know what? Pudge was a fucking dumbass last night, too. All he had to do to win the game was hit a sac fly to far right or center field. Cleven has more than enough speed to get to home in time.

Oh that's right, you can't pick one team to stick with and cheer for, since the A's are winning, you going to hop on that band wagon. And seriously, when have the A's done anything in the postseason? Really?

Wow two guys under 26 and tons of cap room, shit you may be the 06 Marlins. What you have doesn't equal a piece of crap. Especially if you keep making moves like Hillenbrand.

Yes we may get swept, but bottom line is we are there and you Giants are not. Isn't this the team that was supposed to be on par with the top teams in baseball. I remember you saying that to start the year. :booty:

And yes Colletti is a former Giant Assistant GM. Make sure you get your positions right when you make an arguement.

How's the New Mexico baseball team doing? Oh wait...

another thing to remember is the mets are 28-26 in games pedro starts...he isn't the dominate pitcher he once was. Granted about 6 of the losses came last year when pedro left with the lead and the bullpen blew it, but they won't always win them all.
How's the New Mexico baseball team doing? Oh wait...
You know it was a rough year for the Albuquerque Isotopes, with the Marlins taking all or our top players. But thanks for asking.
Seriously that was a pretty weak sauce reply. :applause:

I meant major league, but i'm sure everyone in Alb is proud of the Isotopes. Ya dont have a major league team, why are you ragging on other people? Besides, the Giants' ballpark is MUCH nicer than the Dodgers'.

Really you meant Major League, gosh sorry I must of missed that. I know we don't have a major league team, hence the weak sauce comment about your comeback.
And wow, there ballpark is much nicer, too bad that's not enough to help with winning. Doesn't matter how nice it is, if the Giants play there it is a piece of crap to me.
When you have something worth a damn, let me know.

How 'bout you're a fucking douchebag?

Nice, bravo. Wow with that intelligent response, you win.
I mean your witty comebacks have as much bite as that damn mutt in your avatar.
But anyway enough of you trying to hump my leg, lets get back to baseball.
I think almost all off the teams who make the playoffs this year have a serious chance to win it all. But they all also have as good of a chance to flame out early. Too many questions for all teams, should make for an exciting playoffs.

No, i'm not hopping on the A's bandwagon you idiot, i'm stating the fact that you said that Nor. Cali has no teams going to the playoffs.

The Hillenbrand trade if you knew anything about baseball had to be made, seeing as how we had no 1B.

Keep on trucking, you sand baggin' son of a bitch, just like 04', minus the win with Lima Time.

Woot, Twins take another loss from the ChiSox... maybe the Tigers can wrap up the division before the last game of the season. Like, the second to last game of the season.

Wow, yes I don't know anything about baseball, here lets refresh our memory of some of your classic posts from before the season.

Wow you sure know baseball. I am surprised you haven't replaced Peter Gammons on ESPN with your amazing insight. Yes you may have needed a first baseman, but to rush out and get a guy who was run out of Toronto and most every team he played for. Yeah good thinking.

And yes it may be like '04, but damn feels good to be going to the playoffs. Doesn't '03 seem so far away. But wait, Northern California and losing just seem to go together don't they.

How is it rushing out when according the Baseball Tonight over 13 teams wanted Hillenbrand? We gave up a Jeremy Accardo, Shea bailed us out in 3 games and hit 2 GW's. 03' does seem far away, next year will be a hasstle as well.

No-Cal and losing go together? How's that football team of yours and their championships? Oh wait, yeah they bailed and came up here.

Get the fuck outta here.
Go Dodgers, I don't care if it is division champ or wild card, just get into the playoffs.
Yeah, I hope the Dodgers get in too, but I've been a Dodger Fan long enough to realize that if they can find a way to blow it they will.....one consolation is I'm thankful I don't live in Chicago and root for the Cubs.

Wow twice with the same witty comeback. Damn, you must be fucking retarded. Here is a friendly hint, mix in a theasaurs every now and then. So go back to chugging your horse cock, but it is good to know that you don't guzzle the cum. Now please you are wasting time and space on this topic.
