Yea, I sort of know the feeling. My request on Goozex was fulfilled last week. The game cost me 950 points (around $52), which is more than retail when it isn't on sale!
 
Placed an order for in store pickup. Since everyone says it's such a great game and I like arcade style sports games, this seems like a great deal
 
Do in store pickup and you might get lucky like I did. They have a 1 minute guarantee that your order will be ready once you get to the counter to pick it up or you get $10 off. The girl couldn't find my game behind the counter because there was so much crap for pickup that it took her about 3-4 minutes of looking. That was another $10 off the game.

Damn, that human error! That girl is getting deducted .20 from her paycheck.

Funny thing was, they have a huge countdown clock right behind the counter with a big button to push to start counting down to a minute right on the counter. She hit the button to start it, I wasn't even thinking about it. lol

My orders always take more than a minute to pick up. I should do in-store pick up more often if my store has this guarantee now too.
 
I didn't even know about the guarantee, I totally should've done that! I was wondering what the clock was at the counter, too-- I assumed it was "Time to the front of the line", measured in hours. ;)
 
Thanks OP!!!!!! Picked this up..never really knew about the game but it looks like a lot of fun. Cannot go wrong for $20.00...selected store pick-up from BB Store in Cincinnati Eastgate for anybody in that area. Did not want to wait for shipment since it is backordered. :)
 
went by BB for DVD players(which actually broke within 30mins of trying it) and saw the game. Was going to buy, but what do you do? What is the advantages over something like the BIGS or Wii sports Baseball?
 
Got this earlier by in-store pickup..I was wondering what that big timer in the back of the cashier. Ive been wanting this game for a long time but thought 40 bucks was too steep, I couldnt pull off anything via trade, which is a good thing $20 for this game is a steal.

Motion control is only in two side modes, since it's a PS2 port.

Odd. It's showing it as being available in one of my "preferred stores" but it's not giving me the store pickup option. Guess I'll have to run over there during my lunch break tomorrow.

The only store close to me that has it would cost me $10 in gas just to go there, thats why I ordered online but it went from back ordered to completely out of stock so I may never see this game in my hands.

If theres any CAGS willing to ship me a copy I'll pay them $25 new or used, or you guys can point me out to a place where I can get this for around that price.

Is there another store like Wal-Mart near you? You could probably get a price match on it.
 
Anyone know if this is updated yearly in Japan? I'm thinking of picking it up but worried that there will be a new version in the spring.

Wow, I got this game for $39.99 on release day and it was completely worth it. The best baseball game I've ever played. Hope some CAGs scoop this up. Awesome deal.

It is a yearly updated series in Japan since the SNES. But this is the first one that ever came over here, and it isnt exactly burning up the sales charts, so who knows if we will get another edition next year.

For $20, anyone who owns a Wii and has even a remote interest in baseball or baseball games owes it to themselves to pick this up.

Its just as fun as RBI Baseball and Baseball Stars were back in the day.
 
Anyone know how long this price is good for? My local Best Buy apparently has them, but I can't order online and I won't be getting out for lunch today (Verizon broadband sucks for corporate networks...remember that). I don't want to miss out on this deal...

It's good until Saturday so you have plenty of time as long as they don't sell out.
 
Looks like I'll have to wait till the end of the week to order this... sold out anywhere nearby, don't really feel like driving a half hour to get it. I'll just PM if it's still OOS by the weekend.
 
I decided to pass on this. A good deal, but I figure sports games like these will drop even more, especially a fringe sports title. Maybe under $10.... :)
 
Anyone know where the best place would be to try to price match at another store? I tried at Kmart, but they would not match it. I also tried at Wal-mart, but they did not have them. Any ideas?
 
went to the best buy near me. they sold out. I asked when they were gonna get more the kid said next week. of course next week, after the sale.

luckily my parents were out with my aunt and uncle shopping and they were gonna pass by a best buy so I asked me mum to stop on by and see if they had it. They did, she bought it, I paid her back, and now I own it.

it's an awesome baseball game. its RBI baseball mixed with Baseball Stars.
 
Went to my local Best Buy and picked up the last copy. I swore that I was done purchasing games for myself in 2007 (any remaining games are on my b-day/Christmas list) but I guess I lied. Couldn't pass up a deal like this. Especially given all of the wonderful feedback and impressions I've been reading. I hope everyone is right!
