I wasn't even remotely looking forward to Chuck vs. Tito, and Chuck vs Franklin interests me even less. And now we end up with two seasons in a row of the Ultimate Fighter where the coaches don't fight at the end after hyping it up so much.

I really hope Franklin knocks Chuck into another dimension so we don't have to see his washed up ass again. And hopefully Tito never competes again either, he has nothing to offer anymore. At some point, a guys name alone will stop working as a draw.

This is what I've heard about why Tito is out, I'm spoilering it because it involves things that happened on this season of the Ultimate Fighter, so if you don't want that spoiled don't click !!

The reason Tito isn't fighting Chuck is that he gets kicked off the Ultimate Fighter, I think there's multiple reasons and I don't know what will be said on the show, but apparently he got caught having sex with Jenna Jameson in the locker room. This is what I was told so it could be bull, but I believe the part about him getting kicked off the show is true at least.

both of them can still compete at a high level. not being solid championship contenders anymore doesnt mean they cant or wont be entertaining in their fights. chuck is exciting, his style is exciting. tito has a ton of fans (not sure how or why) but hes still relevant, he still has a style that makes him competitive against a lot of current lhw's. his big yap makes money, he is polarizing.

i wouldnt be shocked if thats what happened, theyre hyping the something bad happening on this weeks episode but who knows. as for the reason, i dont believe that at all as the reason. i could be hilarious but i really doubt that. i heard something about a breakdown which would make more sense.

either way ill be watching every episode which is more than i can say for the last few seasons.
at this point the fighters seem very solid and i really want to see each of them fight.

shouldnt it be the other way around? considering franklin ran from the ring after their last match. tuf is really good this season i cant wait to see the crabman fight and its cool that this season both coaches are really going out of their way to train and help the people on their team. rampage was a horrible coach last season.

Hughes with the leg kicks at least it was no lay and pray.

Munoz vs Grove was a great fight and nice comeback by Munoz.

Edgar really did what he had to do to beat Penn I'm impressed (still think BJ should have went for more takedowns). BJ did seem to take Edgar lightly I see a rematch soon. Silva seems very bored he really needs a challenge. The running around was bullshit he should have just finished the fight in the second round. I hope Shogun beats Machida so Silva moves up to LHW (if that happens it will be one Brazilian Silva better not take lightly). Either that or we finally get to see GSP vs Silva.
Machida is the only hook right now for UFC to entice people to making comparisons to god knows how many Karate kid references. Both Machida and Silva are counter punching fighters with the later utilizing taunts to more or less aggravate his opponent (which is why he BS the later rounds to make Maia do something other then just attempt takedowns). For silva and GSP, the former can't showboat and will test his take down defenses considering that though GSP doesn't have a pedigree as good as Couture on wrestling he can stand with the best of them. And why Franklin is fighting Lidellel IDW, seems like Tito is being turned into a Rampage follow up with skimping out on a fight that should happen. (Love Rampage and Silva btw those guys are two of the funniest people in mma outside the cage).

It's in English, if that helps.

Did anyone see Miguel Torres vs. Yoshiro Maeda at WEC? Brilliant fight.

caught that the other day freaking awesome fight. torres is damn entertaining to watch.
wonder how bad that guys eye was messed up that they had to end it like that.

Don't click if you don't want a Bellator spoiler
Was anyone else watching Bellator? What the fuck on that stoppage during the Askren fight? That was the worst stoppage I've ever seen in my many years of watching MMA. Completely embarrassing.
Strikeforce on CBS tonight, who's watching?, your picks?
i get the pleasure of watching on tape delay.

hendo dec
mousassi sub
melendez tko

only undercard fight i care about is over and my man won.

Hmmm, gonna have to go on internet lockdown because of the tape delay.

I'm going with the upset in King Mo over Mousasi by tko. Hendo over Shields decision. And Melendez by tko, but that's a close one.

Strikeforce spoiler
This has to feel like an awful dream for Scott Coker. I mean, really? The guy that is most likely leaving to go to the UFC is handily beating the guy that was your huge acquisition?

Well, I'm going to say this is the last time we'll see Strikeforce on CBS. They went 45 minutes over, and then that bullshit scuffle at the end. That shit just looks bad on MMA as a sport. I'm a big Strikeforce fan, and I'm by no means a Dana nuthugger, but that kind of shit would not fucking fly in the UFC.

HOLY CRAP! great fight for Shields over Henderson, but did anyone else see the cluster when Mayhem ran up to him at the end and caused the brawl!!!!

that was halarious.. .too bad they cut to commercial.. anyone have a clip of it.. it was probably the best thing i saw all night lol

Man, i love these free Strikeforce fights on CBS fight night! Its really nice I dont have to pay for them.. like the UFC fight last week. Hoping for Fedor fight soon

I completely disagree. I didn't see anything funny about it. It was embarrassing, and really makes MMA look bad as a sport. This kind of shit would not fly in the UFC with Dana at the helm. There's no way.

i didn't think it was embarrassing.. got me pumped up for the rematch fight YEAHHH!!!! but to each his own

No way there's a rematch. I'd say there's a 99.9% chance of Shields going to the UFC now.

I'd bet everything I own that Shields is going to the UFC. Also, I don't blame the fight on Mayhem. I wouldn't be surprised of Coker sent him in there to try to give Shields a reason to stay. I still don't see him staying.

good job
the first movie cuts away right before the fight starts.

good job

yeah jake shoved him and then the stockton crew jumped mayhem. mayhems timing was shitty but the guy was just trying to give jake a little shit and set up another fight. the guy is a clown, not a dickhead trying to start an altercation.
mousasi fight was fucking frustrating, i dont know what his deal was but he wasnt as crisp as usual, his energy wasnt there. he looked like he just didnt give a shit. melendez COMPLETELY destroyed aoki, im a big aoki fan but man, that was textbook, good job gil.
jake shields is the most boring, annoying fighter in a major organization. i give credit for withstanding the assbeating he took to start the fight, but that style of fighting is so fucking boring it kills me. he just beat hendo so it doesnt make much sense but I dont see him doing much at 185 in the ufc. id like to see him get an immediate shot at gsp.

Yeah so they can lay on each other;)

Pretty bad night of fights, but I loved the wacky brawl at the end.

Mauro - If I could say something, there’s a time for things, but what Jason MAYHEM MILLER DID WAS DISGUSTING!

I don't think UFC has much to worry about with Strikeforce. Lame fights, The announcers(especially the color guy) seemed like Padodies of fight announcers("The former cop is trying to handcuf him!")*ugh*. And did they mention why Big John Mcarthy is bck? thought he retired.

There's nothing wrong with utilizing a tight groundgame, but c'mon Shields... MIXED Martial Arts. Let me again emphasize the MIXED.

And yeah. Why the fuck would Mayhem want to start a brawl? Especially with Jake Shields who has been on his show. No bad blood there.
I'm really enjoying Bellator aside from that early stoppage, but other than that, we've seen some great cards with exciting results.

Leave it up to Mayhem to at least make something interesting happen on that show. Props to Shields for holding on in that first round, don't know what the hell happened to Henderson after the 1st round.

What a terrible event that was. The brawl at the end was fitting for how terrible the event was. There's no way you can say that Miller started that brawl, all he did was ask about his title shot and then he got jumped. Between last night's debacle and Anderson Silva last Saturday, hopefully the last 8 days of MMA haven't set the sport back too much.

I was surprised by Mousasi's performance last night he was way too conservative(this has been a crazy month for MMA what with Penn losing and now Mousasi). Melendez was all over Aoki! Hendo nearly had Shields in the first round but couldn't finish him then Shields dominated the rest of the fight. I think the weight cut hurt Hendo he was drained, the man is too old to cut that much weight. Even though Shields is boring he is effective.

The two videos don't show it well but the spark of the post fight brawl between Shields people and Miller was Gilbert Melendez. If you look closely on the second video at 14 second mark Melendez come into the picture then at 15. Melendez is to the right of Shields says something and pushes Miller then Shields pushes Miller and that's all she wrote. Looks like the Diaz bros bum rushed right after Miller retaliated. Here it is in slo-mo.

This has been a crazy month for MMA. The Silva shannigans and now a post fight brawl on national TV that probably set the sport back a few years. #-o

I was a big fan of the Diaz bros before last nights stupidity, I think Shields is a great fighter but talk about boring(last night might have been his most exciting fight). If he and GSP fight I hope it is sponsored by RedBull because you will need some of it to stay awake. Also, if you are wondering who I think would win between GSP and JS, all I can say is whoever lays on the other one longer. :D

edit - I agree GSP is a beast, I just wish he would change up the gameplan a bit. Ever since Matt Serra got lucky and caught him, he seems more gunshy now. I understand that he isn't as bad as Shields with the lay and pray, I just get bored watching GSP destroying everybody on the takedown and G&P.

Why the fuck do people think GSP just lays on his opponents? Show me a fight where he has completely stalled the fight by pinning his opponent on the ground and not letting him move. Generally, I can't stand wrestlers, but GSP is one of the most active ground specialists I've ever seen. Only 7 of his 22 pro fights have gone to a decision, compared to Jake Shields 16 of 30.

Yeah, St. Pierre's last two fights have gone to a decision, but look at the amount of takedowns he's had in those fights! vs Dan Hardy: 11-11, vs Thiago Alves: 10-12. The reason he had so many takedowns is because he was being active on the ground...which leaves openings for your opponent to scramble and get up. It's kinda hard to lay and pray when you're taking a guy down 10+ times. I'm trying to find statistics for Shields' last two fights, but I can't seem to find any. But I'm pretty sure he didn't take anybody down 10 times.

im not a fan of gsp's recent gameplans, i will say this, he has the ability to finish the fight anywhere, jake can sub you, the end.

i was impressed with the "world renouned wrestling virtuouso" mostly by his ability to get that fight to the ground. what interests me most in a gsp fight is seeing two things, can shields put gsp on his back and how is shields off his back with someone with a top game like gsp's

i have a new (to me) opinion on the effects of the cage on japanese fighters, lasts nights event really made it apparent just how much the cage assists wrestlers in comparison to the ring, i believe thats the single biggest reason we see japanese mma fighters having difficulty.

Comparing GSP is like comparing Apples and horse shit. Seriously? People actually think Shields and GSP are the same type of wrestlers? Shields couldn't finish a paper fucking bag. He's effective at what he does, but GSP is the best wrestler in MMA, period. He's active, he tries to finish, and he has fairly good stand up as well. Other than the fact that they're both wrestlers, there is no comparison between GSP & Shields.

edit - i think you were referring to the previous poster who did make a silly comparison between the two.

if youre referring to my post ill respond.
im not saying their wrestling is the same, they both have very good top games, gsp finishes from the top shields not so much. and shields has finishes, i think he was too afriad of attempting subs against hendo because of the obvious standup beating hendo put on him.
if you cant recognize shields grappling as being elite, then i dont know what to say.
im not saying shields will beat gsp at all. i think gsp will completely fucking demolish him actually, hell take shields down and either tko him or sub after smashing him from the top. i think shields is good enough on the ground to be interesting though

personally i think shields/fitch would be a great grappling match.

I do think theres a good opportunity if shields does go to the ufc (which i think he will with his lack of respect comments) to put him into an immediate title fight with gsp. hes wrecked everybody at 170, shields is coming off a BIG win, its think itd be a lot easier to market that fight than any other current possible fight at 170.
