I tried it but it didnt work, I was told I needed an xbox IDE cable.

The xbox light powered on, off, on, off, then turned on and gave the green / red light of death.

Well its modded.. It goes to the mod dashboard with the original cable but does nothing with the one i just bought. It could be something I'm doing, but then again i connected and disconnected it 5 times over after the first time of finding that it dosent work.
