More comfortable headset?

After spilling many cups of water, some coke and having a steam heater drip condensation all over it, my headset finally died.

Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a more comfortable headset. The official one felt like it was "clamping" to my head.

actually the wireless headset works like ass and is a waste of frickin money.

I hear people really like the halo 2 plantronics one and a company makes an adapter that lets you use xbox 1 headsets. Also those Madden ones look comfy, but no idea how good they are or the price.

Straight up. The halo2 one is great, but lets not start this battle, i copped the wireless and its comfy as hell and louds (i like that) but the mother fucker either wont sync or desyncs after like 45 minutes then wont sync again. garabe. im going to try to take it back

I took a spare headset apart, clipped the speaker off, and hot glued it to a pair of headphones. I know it sounds janky but it works like a charm.
And plus - now I don't awaken my sleeping lady.

I've been wanting to do that, because I like to play with headphones, but I'd want to hear the headset in my ear, instead of over the speakers.

Maybe I could wire a tiny speaker from the headset in the cup of the headphone.

I have an extra Microsoft Official XBL Headset, but I'm thinking I'll just buy a cheap-o 3mm headset. Do all 3mm headsets work?

Here's the adapter you're talking about

I keep meaning to pick one up myself so I can use my Halo 2 headset but I keep forgetting. I saw the Halo 2 headset at Gamestop the other day for $20 brand new so if you bought the adapter and the headset it would only cost you $30 total and its definetly the best headset I've ever used and more than worth the money.

The Halo 2 headset is the type that goes in your ear, which to me is like those uncomfortable ear buds. But depending on your preference you might like them.

I don't think it comes with it unless they re-packaged it for the 360 and added one. I love my Halo 2 headset. I can barely tell I have it on, even after a few hours of gameplay- in fact I used to use it with my old cellphone, before I got a Bluetooth phone.

It even comes with different sized adapters so that you can customize it to fit your ear. Foam ones, rubber ones. Its nyyyyce.... :)

No, its different that ear buds. I can't STAND the earbud type headphones, because they are designed to wedge into your ear. Ouch.

The Halo 2 headset clips around your ear, similar to the Bluetooth earpieces for phones. The actual earpiece is movable so you can put it where you want it, as well as having the different adapters as I mentioned above.

So you attach it below your spine, and use it for shitting and some sexual acts?

hmm, so you know that in setting the voice to play thru "speakers" It would just be mixed into the headphones, right?

Maybe I could wire a tiny speaker from the headset in the cup of the headphone.
I thought of that, just seemed overly complex to me.

well you need one of those adapters mentioned earlier in this thread, but yes.

Sometimes it seems the voice volume won't go high enough, drowned out by fx here and there. I've considered getting a nice headset, like the sennheisers or steelsound ones but I don't think they'd be any better than this homemade solution.

it'll be more useful that way than as a headset. It's a usless pos that doesn't even work properly. Even though I spent 50 bucks on the wireless headset I still use the original xbox 360 one. that's how bad it is I mean... because the one that came witht he 360 ACTUALLY WORKS OMG

i love my wireless headset....i had the plantronics x30:

retails for $35. ill let it go for $25 shipped. its in great condition, barely used. PM me before i put it on ebay.

the wireless headset is awesome. Ive never had any problems with mine. sometimes i use the turtle beach headphones (the ones game audio goes through also) with the mic built on. Those things are badass. Game audio sounds amazing and you can still mix the voice and game audio levels and they get extremely loud. i think they are 60 though, so same price as the wireless headset.

DD, i was looking at those turtle beach AXT's; they look sick, but they were uber expensive for a headset so i just went with $44.99 shipped from newegg. if you just want a simple upgrade, i recommend the plantronics x30s; there the halo2 headset just updated. if you want to go with a great upgrade, get the wireless headset from MS, and if your ballin, then just go straight to the turtle beach AXT's.
