CAGiversary!

This offer is B&M only and it is still trade 4 games, unlike its online counterpart.

Offer only mentions that they come out on 3/04 so perhaps the offer will end on that date for these games.

MTX Mototrax (XBox, PS2) MSRP $49.99
Tenchu: Return from Darkness (XBOX) MSRP $49.99 [also coupon in EGM p. 53 issue 177]
Silent Scope Complete for (XBOX) MSRP $39.99
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (GC) MSRP $39.99
Final Fantasy XI (PS2) $49.99 MSRP $99.99
Driv3r (XBOX, PS2) MSRP $49.99
Metal Gear: The Twin Snakes offer still going on (GC) MSRP $39.99 (In the original EB booklet MGS has an MSRP of 49.99, stating trade 4 and get $50 credit, which is why some are able to put $40 + tax towards the game, and keep the rest)

Offer must be a pre-purchase (therefore should only be valid until the game comes out, though sometimes it isn't always the case)

Pokemon: Colosseum & Free Bonus Disc (GC) MSRP $49.99
Ninja Gaiden & Free Scroll [Free Scroll YMMV] (XBOX) MSRP $49.99
007: Everything or Nothing (XBOX, GC, PS2) MSRP $49.99
Halo 2 (XBOX) MSRP $49.99
Dead or Alive Online (XBOX) MSRP $49.99
Fable (XBOX) coupon in OXM MSRP $49.99
Resident Evil Outbreak (PS2) coupon in EGM p. 19 issue 177 MSRP $49.99
Seven Samurai 20XX (PS2) coupon in EGM p. 127 issue 177 MSRP $49.99

Same exclusions, same rules we all know. As always try the offer with other employees, if they know you they'll accept them. I know one guy who accepts my Havens and such, just cause he knows I tend to shop there (not lately though...they've been pre-purchases thanks to trade-ins heh heh).

Just added a couple of changes (Prince of Persia not Prince of Persian...it's not a pokemon :p ), I know some end on the 28th of this month, the others are not specified. I don't mind getting some of the 39.99 games such as Metal Gear or Harvest Moon, after all the games traded in usually are worth less than 30.

Is it true they started excluding all titles they normally do for this, or is it the more lenient, sports-only titles from before?

Yep, got shot down with my collection of cheapy games from Target & Circuit City...so be aware of the following game exclusions. Basically, the EB attendant surveyed a HUGE printed list of restricted games that will not apply to this promotion on top of the sports titles. I only caught a glimpse...but if my memory serves:

BANNED GAMES

PS2
Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter
RTX Red Rock
Defender
Haven
Pryzm

XBOX
Jet Set Radio Future
GT2002/JSRF Combo
Clone Wars/ Tetris Combo
Fuzion Frenzy

and tons more. Bummer for me, but YMMV depending on the cooperation of your local EB staff. Take care.

Just an update on Masterkyo trade in list:
You have to trade in 5 (not 4) games to recieve Halo 2
The coupon to trade in 4 games for Fable is in OXM (not the GMR)
It's true, if you know an employee, or you're a smooth talker, then you can get these deals without the coupon.
And, I agree with Masterkyo- I'd rather trade 4 games for a $50.
If you want Harvest Moon (a $40 game) cheaper, don't trade for it. Pre-order it at Gamestop & get the free plush cow. Then when you get the cow sell it on eBay. You'll get $25- $35 on eBay for that thing! That means you've just spent as much as $15 for a game! That's less than trading four $5 games to get it!
Also, on the EB games trade, here a couple other non-sport games they will not take as a trade:
XBOX- Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter
Oddworld

Can somebody keep post more of these? I'd like to know what will work before I go in to do any more trades.
Thanx in advance
these have been out there for a month or so. old post.
We realize some are old, which is why Masterkyo added the rest, I mentioned some that were not in the old posts. How about paying a little attention there

In response about the Halo 2, it is 4 games still at the B&M (as advertised), 5 games online. I will check out later on to see if they accept some of these cheap games I got and post.

I want them to add Splinter Cell:pT to the list but it is still kind of iffy especially if they won't take some games back. I think they even have a trade in deal where you get $10 more for every 3 games so you might actually come out ahead on certain games.

That's correct BBB. They got the deal, the more you trade, the more $ you get. I don't remember how much it was for 3 but, I remember the trade-in 5 you'd get an extra $25

Some people have mentioned that if you do the 4 game trade in at the store for a $39.99 game, you get an extra $10 credit (to make up for the $49.99 trade offered on other titles). Can anyone confirm this?

Will do, but I honestly just think that credit is not to make up for the 49.99 trade-in offers but that extra "The more you trade, the more $ you get offer". I'm going to head over there and try to trade the following 5 games (to see if I could get the extra 25 too):

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time (GCN version with Master Quest)
DBZ: Boudakai
Gungrave
Robotech Battlecry
Silpheed: The Lost Planet

I'll report what happens.

I am not being rude, show me a specific post about MTX Mototrax being a trade-in offer, Tenchu: Return from Darkness, Final Fantasy XI (not the online offer, but at the actual B&M). I realize now Silent Scope was mentioned in another post, so you are correct about that, and you're right. So how about you search before posting. I know I did, now if you do find those specific titles mentioned, I will appologize. But, I did not see any of the ones I just posted (except for Silent Scope Complete), all the others mentioned later was just a consolidation of all the offers. That way one can find all the current trade-in offers on one thread. So please sman113, prove me wrong, cause if I am, I'll admit it. If I still am right, how about you take my advice, and pay attention before posting a reply :)

Well they didn't let me get the bonus $ cause I was already doing one trade-in offer. He took the Zelda Master Quest, Robotech, Gungrave, and DBZ, I of course took back my Zelda and told him to try it with Silpheed first.

He went and actually took all of them, he adjusted all the prices, and he even did it so I wouldn't have to pay taxes. It was kind of funny cause on my receipt it even has POX on both Robotech and Silpheed, but like I said since he adjusted he gave

Gungrave 12.26
Robotech 10.26
Silpheed 8.01
DBZ 12.26

After that I gave him Zelda and he gave me 15 credit, so I took it since I don't think I'd get anymore than that actually.

Anyone know where I can get some cheap games to trade in? I only need 2...looking for $5.00 - $10.00 games. Thanks!

CC should still have Haven for 5 bucks, and games such as Gungrave for around 8 something...good luck on trying games to trade such as Haven, it's possible though.

I was just at EB games this morning and they won't take Summer Heat Beach Volleyball either. I know, I know, it's a sports game, but not really. It's a bikini girl game mostly. I asked for a list of restricted games and he said he didn;t have one, it's all programmed into the register computer but they don't have a hardcopy list. I wonder if there are any EB employees out there who could share ..........?

I Picked up Harvest Moon this week traded two $5.00 Xbox games form Best Buy (Crash and Max Payne 1), Circuit City $5.00 Freaky Flyers and a
7.00 copy of twisted metal black I'm happy. I've done 5 of these trade-ins two on their website and 3 instore. No problem with the website trade-ins the instore only seem to be a problem if they have to scan a coupon. I was talking to the Manager trying to do the DOA trade and he said the computer wouldn't let him take POX games after scanning the coupon from GMR. Sonic and Harvest Moon trades didn't have coupons to scan so he took all my non-sports games since those where the only ones expressly excluded.

I just called my EB in Seattle and the person said no exclusion other than sports games until the 18th! You hear that when 18 comes the POX list comes too! Ack! hurry haha

Do these work:

Blowout PS2
Galerians:Ash
Project Gotham Racing
Oni
Starsky & Hutch (xbox or PS2)
Metal Gear Solid

The first page has been updated with some ending dates and also the scanned pages for some have been added. As more offers come and go I'll be updating the list, that way we don't have to be searching all over the place to see which games are available and which are not.

I think I read in the brochure that some of these games you have to pay an additional $10 for after trading 4 games? Is that correct? I skimmed your list quickly but didn't see anything about it.

Thanks.

No where in the advertisement do they mention paying an additional $10. I can't say the same for Fable, since that was just mentioned to be in OXM. All others are verified, and just the normal exclusions are applied.

In the President Day's EB hand out. On the first page not counting the insert for the 2 days sale.

I quote:

"Save $40 on any $49.999 Game on this page with trade-ins!*"

Lists FFCC, Ninja Gaiden, and James Bond 007 Everything or Nothing, MX Unleashed. FF11 is save $50 like you said.

However this ad is for the Washington area so I guess things could be different over there.

Hmm...my EB didn't even have a sale. I even asked them "You guys got a sale for President Day's?" and he just told me no. They only had the pages which I scanned and are posted. Since I had done FF:CC during the New Year's sale and I just did Harvest Moon yesterday (but it came out 42.79 because of the 39.99 MSRP and tax...and they took care of it all with the 4 trade-in). It might just be different...I mean I've been able to trade-in just about any game at my EB. I have yet to be rejected (I was once, but I just went back another day, and the other guy took them).

thats weird the flier i got was a Feb. sale which includes extra money when u trade in games. Nuthing else.

Oh and im located in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Maybe some other stores have the ones u guyz are refering to

Yes they do have that too Dazz. The more you trade, the more you get back. I just remember trade-in 5 and get an extra $25 trade-in credit.

It's all YMMV...I traded in 24 games 3 weeks ago for Halo2, NFL Street, Bond 007 Everything, Driver 3, DOA Online, and the HDD w/ FF for $49.99. The games that I traded-in included 5 copies each of Silpheed and Gun Griffon Blaze, SXX Tricky, 2 copies of Ace Combat 4, GTA, GT3, Midnight Club, 2 copies of Haven, 2 copies of Defender, 3 copies of EverGrace, and Fantavision. There was even some parent arguing about Crazy Taxi because they wouldn't accept it so they manually put it in. I know all of my trade-ins are POX except for Ace Combat 4 and Midnight Club because I tried to do it at another EB and they refused all except for those 2 titles. I could have even been greedy because they had the Buy 2, Get 1 Free PreOwned Games offer when I was there. I could have bought all the cheap ass non-sports games from their bins and gave it back to them right there and then.

I can see why they wouldn't want some sports games, that is, the ones that get an annual update so their 'shelf life' at least for a premium price. But a volleyball game, that is not based on 'reality' teams/leagues [afaik], and that probably isn't going to get an annual update? The only reasons I can think of are
* they just say 'no sports games'
* someone up high is a CAG or found that deal and knew it was available really cheap/free from Amazon/TRU.

dmanko----yes they still have the trade in a working GBA system and 2 games for an SP although the price is $49.99 and not $30.

$50 isn't too bad. I have a regular GBA and an SP with a ton of games and I want to get a friend an SP for his bday so this is a pretty good deal to me.
yeah it isn't that bad of a deal, especially when u can give him yours and go get the two tone GBA SP.
Now...^^ THAT ^^... is cheap!
I would do it also but I have the Onyx and I think its the best color so far.

i went to the eb in the santa ana mainplace mall and i asked the guy behind the counter specifically, "there are no restrictions other than sports titles?" he told me whatever it says on their instore flyers, they would honor. so if you live around there, you can try it out at that store. if he gives you lip, just tell him you asked him a few weeks ago and he said there wouldn't be a problem. if it works, please let us know :)
Eb's listed their game exclusions on their trade-in page. Here's the link: http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/ebtrade/game_list.asp

Click the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube links underneath the Halo 2 logo.

Those bastards! :x
That *is* a huge list of exclusions, but there is a positive side to this. Many of those excluded games are now being sold for fairly low prices (as pre-played games of course). I bought some of those used, excluded games tonight for fairly decent prices (better than the prices I would have paid had I bought them used at other sites), so much thanks to all of you cheapass gamers who traded them in. :D

If you're in the market for some older games, check out those lists. You just might find something to add to your collection.
