so like, why are they making everything so overly difficult on me, im not even a huge seller on ebay, i sell some games and some books and stuff, im 19 yrs old, im not going to rip anyone off or anything, i have 100 percent positive feedback on nearly 60 transactions (i buy as well), so why do they keep throwing hurtles at me? i mean, i pay my fees, they make money off me, shouldnt they value me? and i cant for the life of me figure out how to get past this new thing, it was like, all of a sudden my money was being held up and pending for 21 days, then all of a sudden i randomly cant list things (was able to yesterday and earlier today)... i just dont get it.

They recently put that 21 day hold on my account too, despite the fact that I've been selling for years and have 100% positive feedback as a seller. Oh, well. They did it when I first started out, and it wasn't that big of a deal. IIRC, if you put in a tracking number, they'll release the funds within 3 days of it being delivered, or sooner if the buyer leaves positive feedback.

Ebay's gone to shit, I've ruled it out for some purchases and sales these days. The new sort system is horrible and they like to flag accounts and hold your money for zero reason.

I've had the hold on my account for awhile now, even still after about 12 angry calls to customer service demanding they remove it since I've never scammed anyone, I ship quickly, and I have 100% feedback. Load of fucking bullshit if you ask me.

I finally got the most useful (still not helpful at all though) answer as to why the hold was put on my account a few days ago.

To release your current transaction(s) on hold, you just need to
complete one of the 3 criteria:

· 3 calendar days after delivery confirmation
· 24-hours after the buyer left a positive feedback
· 21-calendar days without chargeback and/or dispute/claims

As I have checked your payment from************************ for
$***** USD on **********, there is no positive feedback yet from the
buyer and you have not added your tracking number yet on the transaction
details.

From further checking, I have found that the reasons for the hold are as
follows:

· Business Model ? Higher Risk selling activities
· Performance on eBay
· Financial activity and performance

I also double checked the information on your eBay profile and PayPal
account to confirm and it currently shows that:

- Feedback Score: 68
- Detailed Seller Ratings: 5.0
- Transaction history for the last 6 months: 14

Looking at it, I can say that as a seller you are on the right track and
while the payment holds is applied to your PayPal account there are
several things you can do that will help you establish good selling
history with PayPal and eBay ? so when your account gets re-evaluated
after 35 days progressive changes can be seen:

- Maintain good selling performance on eBay:

· An eBay feedback score of more than 100, - you already have 68
feedback, you only need 32 more feedback
· An average Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) of more than 4.5, - you have
5.0 DSR
· Received more than 20 Detailed Seller Ratings in the last 12 months, -
your current DSR number is 19, you just need 1 more within 35days

- Lastly, I also made you a list of things that will help you maintain
your good selling performance on eBay:

· Keep your PayPal account up to date and in good standing (i.e.
Verified and up to date financials)
· Make sure you confirm your address and phone numbers and keep them up
to date (remove bad phone numbers and addresses).
· Process your orders right away and ship quickly using a service that
provides tracking and delivery confirmation.
· Communicate early and often with your buyers.
· Resolve customer disputes quickly.

Once we find consistency of good records on your account there is a high
possibility that the payment holds will be removed after we re-evaluate
it on ********* 2011.

While we recognize that history with PayPal is important, it's only one
of many factors we consider. Your account performance behavior, previous
time on file and account history has been considered when taking this
action. However, based on your the issues I have discussed above we feel
that this action is appropriate at this time to in order to help ensure
that there?s money set aside in your account to cover potential claims,
chargebacks or refunds.

For each received transaction, money will be held in your pending
balance for up to 21 days.
So that basically means I'm being held hostage by a buyer not leaving feedback, and ebay can't see that I've added DC numbers to all my transactions.

did not know that, i have been getting tracking or whatever since its just 70 cents or whatever, ill look into how to apply it to reducing the 21 day hold, thanks!

Actually it seem like it doesn't even matter what your feedback is anymore. They held me and my dad's paypal money and we both have 100% feedback but like lmz00 said they'll eventually release it if you get a positive feedback or leave a tracking #. It's annoying because it keep spamming the mails at me but you can't do much.

Yeah I agree that's ebay going to crap in terms of selling stuff, I mean it's a super high fee they charge just to sell their. However it's one of the most popular place to sell stuff and that's why my dad+me stick to it. I never tried amazon but I don't think they take paypal as a payment(not too sure)

It doesn't work. It took 17 days for my last transaction to be released to me, and I used the paypal link to print my label, so the DC# was added by paypal, but they still didn't give me my money.

Was the item already delivered or did that person gave you a positive feedback already? If not I'll contact Paypal about that because that's an awfully long time for paypal to be holding the money

Correction, it was 17 days from date of delivery. And I called and emailed about 12 times.

Hopefully my case is rare, because that's definitely a bad thing for paypal if they do this to a lot of their customers, especially since we pay out the ass just to use the service.

the "get your money 24 hours after positive feedback" thing isn't true either, both of my current pending transactions i had received positive feedback 3-5 days ago and still it's pending, and yeah after looking at it's more like 17 days, still a long time to have to wait....

I was able to relist some things today, but still am not allowed to relist the same item from the other day, which is a Coach bag that I'm selling for $80... i dont get it
amazon my friend ... amazon
My biggest issue with Amazon is that the buyer is always right. If you list an item and clearly state it's issues and the buyer bitches about the issue you clearly noted, you have to accept the return. If you don't, Amazon will refund the buyer without making him/her actually return the item.

This has happened to many CAGs and hence why I stay away from Amazon.

This is odd, usually my Amazon buyers are fairly docile. Either I'll give them a refund outright if they have serious problems, or I use my special persuasion ability where I convince them that they're in the wrong. ;) I don't think I've had one A-Z claim--sometimes all it takes is to follow the negative feedback with, "Okay, so you think it has problems, I don't agree with this, but ship it back and I'll give a refund." Many people will stop right there, not wanting to pay the return shipping--even though you have expressed your willingness to take the return...

Generally I've found ebay to be much worse, there buyers will be combative--splicing hairs on grading differences, claiming that you're selling bootlegs so you have to take pictures to prove otherwise, forcing returns on stuff that works because they say it doesn't work, etc.

Edit: I even had one totally awesome Amazon buyer who bought a pc game without activation key from me, where I realized I was completely in the wrong and offered a full refund, but he went ahead and somehow contacted the developer :hot: and got a replacement copy. That was a tough time in my life, so I was thankful to have such a magical buyer.
