More Xbox 360 Game Pre-Orders from Play-Asia

They're now listing F.E.A.R. and Marvel:UA for $39.90 at www.play-asia.com. No confirmation on region protection yet, but they are worth keeping an eye on. Marvel is published by Activision who also did COD 2, which was region free - so they are worth watching.

Can anyone give me the skinny on region free games? Are they the same as their NTSC counter parts?

I think we need an official play-asia deal thread with an FAQ. Every single time there's a new deal posted the thread turns into the same question and answer session. Anyone who's very well versed in all the region protection stuff want to take that on? Cheapy maybe?

GEARS OF WAR is published by MS, right? If so there's no way that will be region free.

It's usually a couple of publishers (Activision, THQ) whose games -- MOST, though not all -- are region free.

Yes it's published by Microsoft, damn I was planning on buying that. Most of Ubisoft and Eidos's games are also region free,
