Most expensive game you have ever bought.

I always find it odd when OP's create topics yet have nothing to contribute...

Anyway, I imported the original Shenmue LE for the DC when it launched and that was about $80.

If Steel Battalion counts, then $130 shipped is the most I have ever paid.

Most Expensive: Phantasy Star IV - $99.99 - bought it at launch at Babbage's

I also paid $400 for the Sega Saturn at launch - I'm glad that company's out of the hardware business now, I'd be broke!

$54.99 at launch for Shenmue LE on DC.. $64.99 for Shenmue 2 on DC imported + disc to play it.. at the time, I had no plans to even get an XBox..

Um... probably..... uh.... I don't think I've ever paid over $50 for a game, so thats just about every game I bought before I found this site.

Lumines. The game itself wasn't that expensive but that $250 dongle you have to have to play it really put a dent in the bank account.

Around $65-70 for Street Fighter II on the SNES.

This was before I became a CAG, when I only bought a few select titles a year.

I would assume because the OP asked for any game in general that you have paid the most for. It's not console specific.

$59.99- Arc the Lad Collection

I dont think I ever wasted more then fifty bucks on just one game. But I think I bought sin and punishment (n64) w/the convertor for $58 shipped.

I spent $120 each on Final Fantasy MSX and Akumajo Dracula X: Chi no Rondo for Turbo Duo. Both complete, of course.

The latter was outstanding, and the former...well, you've played it before, it's strictly for collecting.

New game: $199.99 for Steel Battalion - I had preordered it and picked it up on the release date. I've never taken it out of the box. First it was because I knew I would be moving shortly and now I'm waiting until I finish my game room in my condo (which is going very slowly).
Used game: $110 for a three games: Panzer Dragoon 1, 2 and Saga (!). I still think I got a good deal on that one. That was back when it was easier to get deals on ebay.
$60 for a lot of N64 games. The worst? Mischief Makers.
Wow, and I thought Mischief Makers was one of the most original and creative platformers I had played, of course I considered 2d dead by the time it came out, but I rented it years later and it was surprisingly fun and addictive.

Most I've ever payed for a game...well I payed like $60 for a few, but I paid $80 for an imported Sin and Punishment for the n64.

I thought I had paid a lot of halflife 2, but I only bought silver which I think was only $60.

BTW, n64 games in my area were always $50, except for the rare 3rd party title like Doom 64 which went for $80.

I paid $60 for Goldeneye N64. (I'm sure I paid $60 for a couple other N64 games as well.) I dug it out a few months ago and the receipt was still in the box. Thank god the cartridge format is dead for home consoles.

Think I paid 85.00 for Super Mario RPG way back when, still I enjoyed the game. This was at K-mart no less, not sure who the hell would price a game that high at k-mart but they did.

My Secret of Mana has a $74.95 tag on the box, I assume I paid that much back then.

Recently, it will have to be Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and SO3: Till the End of Time. Paid $35 + tax each at TRU.
That makes me fell even more better knowing that I only
paid $30 all together for panzer dragon saga and
burning rangers :).
Lucky Bastard, I paid $40 for my BR

IIRC, I paid $75 for Chrono Trigger back when it first came out. I remember searching just about every store I could for it and finally finding a copy at a Target.

Certainly many people have bought Final Fantasy XI for the PS2...no?

Thats $100 bucks right there.

Not saying I bought it, my most expensive purchase was RE4 Collectors Edition. Paid around 60 bucks I think.

Man was that game awesome. Too bad I had to sell the game to get a PSP...still have the case though.

I did the exact same thing. I kept all the extras plus the tin and traded just the game into EB.
