most hours spent on a video game?

inspired by myself, for playing exactly 145 hours and 49 minutes of Advance Wars Dual Strike for the DS, I want to know how long you guys spent on any games. also, a screenshot would be nice. some games tell you how long youve played at the title screen/options/history. I know that most RPG's have it, including pokemon.

also, I want to see if anybody has beaten my amazing dual strike time :D

I know folks who have maxed out their Pokemon clocks at 999 hours. Your AW: DS time isn't that stunning. ;)

Myself, I spent more than 50 hours on The Godfather, and that's the most time I think I've ever spent on a game.

I spent about 45 on it. Awesome game.

cant wait for the new one. Its online, which is the sonic announcment equivilent for AWDS fans. seriously, it looks awesome

The most time I ever spent on a game was probably FF7 at around 60 hours (WEAKSAUCE LOL). The most time I ever spent on a game in one sitting was around 10 hours for twisted metal 2 co-op with my bro. Good times!
Are we including MMORPG's?
post whatever you want, but nobody will be impressed unless your hours are super high. also, I would really like screenshots.

Let's see... I've been playing Tetris DX for Gameboy on the shitter almost every day for the last 9 years at about 20 minutes a shit... so let's say to be safe I get in about 300 sessions a year times 9 years equals about 2,700 sessions times 20 minutes a pop equals 54,000 minutes or about 900 hours. Of course this doesn't count the hours and hours and hours I've played on planes, trains or poolside or on the beach over the years. I'm way way way past 1,000 hours on that game and I'll probably never stop playing it.

I played Nanobreaker for about 40mins.

Good times

Seriously though, I'm sure it's some RPG. I spent around 40 hours between the two playthroughs and doing the extra dungeon at the end. Then there's DMC3 which I did a ton of stuff in...probably about 40ish hours as well.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, StarCraft. Been playing it on and off since the 7th grade and haven't gotten bored of it yet.

Tetris DS? worth paying under 20 for something you intend on playing for longer

Over 110 days on my cleric in everquest over 4 years of playing. Just that character, no idea on all my others. 3 WoW toons with 20 days on them.

In the grand scheme of mmo time those are pretty small though.

Console games, i wish I could see a timer for my time playing animal crossing ds, or all of my ff5 play throughs together. i play ff5 once a year so 25 hours a year for that game since release, not counting several times that first year.

Disgaea 1 and 2 both have 160 hours. DQ8 has 110, Phantom brave 97, pokemon pearl 170, Dark cloud 2 93.

FFX 3 times at 55+ hours a pop.

Probably no higher than in the 50-60 hour range for me with some Final Fantasy games, Zelda: Twighlight Princess, KOTOR and a few other RPGs.

105 hours on FFX. Probably a lot more on Animal Crossing: Wild World, but there's no clock.

I just booted up my twilight princess and VC ocarina of time, and I've spent 56 hours on TP and 63 hours on ocarina. all sidequests and most heart pieces

/me is proud

I believe I spent around 115 hours in FFVII. Not sure how that happened considering that I dislike the game now. I'm sure I've spent more time in GTAIII but I never bothered to check how many hours I played.

130+ on Oblivion

sorry no screen shot, traded that in a while ago.

edit: crap, didn't see this was in the Wii section, I clicked on it from the front page. sorry if you were only looking for Wii/Nintendo games

Gotta be Animal Crossing on the DS. I liked the idea of the Cube game but never got into the daily grind. The DS version, by its nature, brought out the massive OCD in me or something.. I bought it on release and have played pretty much every day.

A casual guess would be maybe 20 minutes a day (although often more than that, and occasionally less)... for 2 years (since we're almost at its 2 year anniversary), so 730 days * 20 minutes = 14,600 minutes or 243 hours.

Since I got the game for $24.99 (thank you BB Xbox 360 launch coupon), that's almost 10 hours of play per dollar.

Gotta be the best gaming investment-- and the worst in terms of doing anything-- I've ever made. ;)

No one did

In our defense the topic is poorly titled. :p

Should be "most hours spent on a Wii game"

FFVII - 150+ hours.. the clock only counts to 99:99:99 but I'm guesstimating and being conservative at that. It was one of two PS1 games I had back then (the other being Battle Arena Toshindin) so I didn't have much else to do.

FF Tactics (PS1) is a close second at 120 hours. Again, guesstimating.

After that, I know I spent roughly 70-90 hours on tons of PS1 RPGs. Back when I had plenty of time to do it.

On the Wii, I think Twilight Princess is the longest I've spent on a game- roughly 35 hours.

based on my recoed online... i've spent at least 45 hours playing nba live 08... it's probably the game i've played the most in my life just because of online...

it might change when smash bros brawl, dbz bt3 wii, and mario kart wii come out

Gears of War. I have no idea what the exact amount of time is, but I'm estimating it to be around 1500 hours. Yet, I don't even have Seriously....:whistle2:x

Over two platforms (DC and GC) I put about 600+ hours into Phantasy Dtar Online.

As far as non online games go, I think the winner is Pokemon with about 200.

For offline, i did about 110 hours in FFX trying to max out the sphere grid for everyone.

Online though, I've probably played hundred of hours of Gears of War. I finally weened myself off that now, and I bring myself to play it anymore unfortunately.
Somewhere > 100 hours on SSBM. I don't have the game anymore, so I really can't say. I'd guess about 130-150. Something like that. Also, this should be in the main gaming forum. That's my gimmick, fucker!
/me has stolen it

also, post what you like. Its in the wii forum because I happened to be there at the time. feel free to move mods!

The Wii version will be online as well?
The Wii version will be online as well?
there is no Advance wars for wii, but battalion wars is based of Aw and, yes, it is also online. the new Ds game is called days of ruin

If we're counting MMO's:
EverQuest: 170 days on my main character alone (roughly 4000 hours)

Online games:
I played Quake1 competitively online for close to 8 years. Not sure what that equates to, but I'm sure it's a lot.

Console gaming:
FF 12: About 110 hours so far, and still haven't completed the main story.
Tetris DS? worth paying under 20 for something you intend on playing for longer
No - I play Tetris DX, not the DS version which can kiss my ass for sucking in comparison.

what I meant was, you should buy tetris Ds

Oh... um, well.. I owned it for a while and got rid of it because I hated it. I just don't understand all the love it gets. There are two definitive versions of Tetris - the DX version for Gameboy and Atari's version in the arcade. Everything else blows, IMO.

Oh, I was talking about The Godfather game.
First of all, I love how everyone posting their time spent in MMORPG is just mulyiplying the number of days they played by the number of hours in a day. Since I played SSBM for a couple of years, I must have put thousands of hours into it!

Also, I put about 40 hours into Zelda, and just passed the 40 hour mark in Fire Emblem. Some of that time was spent on standby, but that's more than balanced out by the number of times I've had to load a battle save due to a dead character - or worse yet, restart due to a poorly timed battle save.
And I thought StarCraft would have been one of your most played games

They're doing that because that's how they usually record time. "x days, y hours, z minutes" or something similar. So they're not exaggerating, and frankly, I'm a little surprised there aren't much higher numbers.

Counting the Guitar Hero series as one sends it off the charts as the biggest time-sink for me.

Other than that, this is about my exact situation:

RPGs that used to take me only a couple of weeks will take me months to complete. I've given up my obsession with 100% completion, and continue to shift my focus further and further away from RPGs. It sucks, because they're all I used to play--now I just don't have the time to finish more than two or three lengthy titles a year.

I think that nearly every RPG player can relate to this once they reach post-college (or even post-high school) age. I used to play 5 or 6 RPGs a year in the time of the PS1 but now I'm lucky to go through 1 in that same timespan. I remember beating FFVII in less than a week back in '97, but FFXII took me 10 months. And I probably logged more hours in FFVII than FFXII!

Including MMOs, eh? Let me preface this by stating that I'm considered a casual Guild Wars player.

960 hours 30 minutes. That's w/ one 3-month period where I didn't play, plus another 6-7 month non-playing period. So really, it's over a 21-22 month period instead of 31 months.

Counting the computron, my most played game is DoD. I think my xfire account has over 200 hours logged in that game, and I haven't used that for a long while. I would estimate 350 hours for the game, give or take maybe 25.
Oh... um, well.. I owned it for a while and got rid of it because I hated it. I just don't understand all the love it gets. There are two definitive versions of Tetris - the DX version for Gameboy and Atari's version in the arcade. Everything else blows, IMO.
You MUST play the WonderSwan Color version before you say such things.

WoW I put in 168days before I sold my account
Everquest I logged in 140ish days

No clue on Warcraft 3 but I still play it since it came out(well DOTA more so now)

I bought it for my father, He has played this game well over 700 hours, But not on one save, he F-uped 2 times and had to restart. Its his fav game, I can't play it too darn slow. I keep hoping Marshe' gets the Black Plauge like they did back in france.
