Most times you've seen a single movie?

What is the most times you have sat down and watched one movie in theaters and in the comfort of your own home? At the risk of sounding like a complete geek, I have watched at home The Extended Edition of The Fellowship of the Ring 67 times. In theaters I have seen The Return of the King and Star Wars Episode II an even 10 times.

 No offense, but to watch a movie that long that many times is beyond the pale. I have trouble watching the same movie more than 5 times before it becomes stale, depending on how far apart I watch it.

Between watching it on TV, watching a copy I made off of it's airing on Sci-Fi channel, and the copy I later bought, I would guess that I have seen Project A-ko close to 100 times. When I finally bought it, I watched it once or twice a day for a good 2 months.

In my younger days I watched the original 3 Star Wars movies countless times.. I couldn't even begin to estimate a number.

I saw Basic Instinct 20 times, Natural Born Killers 17 times, Pulp Fiction 11, Casino 10 or 11, Professional (Leon the Killer) with Natalie Portman around 10. Recently.....hmmm... nothing.

I watched Twister everyday at least once a day for an entire summer break, so ive seen it probably close to 100 times. I havent watched it since the end of that break 2 years ago either.

even though all of you are gay and think youre too cool for it, i've seen napoleon dynamite 3 times in the theater and... probalby like 7 on dvd cause i showed it to multiple friends.

I watch a ton of movies many times because I love them so much. Some examples:
- American Beauty
- Spider-man
- Back to the Future (all 3)
- Memento
- The Truman Show
- Matrix
- Ocean's Eleven

And when I say alot, I mean more than 10 (not including times shown on tv).

Jurassic Park-probably around 13 or 14 times
Pulp Fiction-9 times
Office Space-9 times

edit- Oh damn, I forgot American Beauty-7 times.

yeah napoleon was cool i watched a crapload of times too
but i think i watched the matrix and lotr trilogies more than anything else at least 5 times a year each since there release

I can't even count, but I have seen Under Siege 2 so many times that at one point I had the whole movie memorized

other movies I have seen almost as many times as Under Siege 2 include Beverly Hills Cop and Die Hard.

Haha I've seen Basic Instinct quite a few times too.

Ok, there are many movies I have seen more times than I can count. The obvious ones are all of the Star Wars ones (original trilogy more than the prequels), Die Hard 1 and Die Hard 3, The Rock, and The Boondock Saints. Field Of Dreams, Rocky, The Sandlot, and Rudy I've probably seen almost as many times.

Crap, I forgot the Shawshank Redemption. Also, I saw The Phantom Menace (first new SW movie to come out in my lifetime) 13 times in the theater. Only saw it 3 times at the good theater, and then saw it 10 times at the dollar theater.

I have seen Batman countless times, at one point I could recite any line from the movie. Tried watching it again the other day and fell asleep :p

I forgot about Die Hard. Even though I haven't seen it recently, that is definately one of the films that hold a high watched number.

Yeah, about the same for me too. The Napolean Dynamite, not gay part.

The next highest amount of times I've watched any move is about 4 or 5 for Top Secret! and Shaolin Soccer.

I used to watch the old SW trilogy when it came out on VHS every week. It would be a weekly ritual for me every Wednesday. I'd invite my friends over for SW and they'd groan about being sick and tired of watching it but would come over anyway cuz my mom always bought pizza. I think I did that until I got to college. I think I started when I was around 12. I'm 27 now (28 in may).

whenever they show those rockythons, I pretty much always end up watching them. Of all of the Rocky's though, I know I have seen Rocky III the most, probably 15-20 times

I've seen American Beauty probably more than 30 times. I've seen all the Tarantino movies at least 10 times a piece. Because it's always on Comedy Central, I've probably seen Dogma a good 20 times.

By far the most watched movie ever for me, though, is 'It's A Wonderful Life', because, for as long as I can remember, my dad made me watch it with him just about every day from Thanksgiving until Christmas.
even though all of you are gay and think youre too cool for it, i've seen napoleon dynamite blah blah blah
Napoleon Dynamite was shitty. I know it's cool to say that you like ND and to quote it hundreds of times per day. I know you'd vote Pedro for president. However, it is shitty. You know it, I know it, just get over it.

The reason I could watch LOTR so many times was simply due to my fascanation with the original literature. I must have read the LOTR trilogy 20 times before I even heard rumours of the than upcoming movies. It also helps that Peter Jackson did a fantastic job visualizing Tolkein's works.

Overall the movie I've probably watched the most is Annie...because I watched it Alot as a kid. Probably every other day when I was a toddler. (Got to be the first in my family to be allowed to use the VCR though~ here's the kicker, I'm the youngest).

In theaters, I wound up seeing the first Jurassic Park movie 7 times.

heh, at first it was because I had read the book and saw it with my mom on opening day, then I went with friends, then parents and I went all three of us, then I went with a different set of friends, then I tagged along with a sibling and a date, etc. I really wasn't trying to see that movie 7 times in the theater, but I wasn't going to complain either. That part where she runs to the electric hut thing and the dinosaur jumps up from behind her always made me jump...all 7 times...^__^

Also since the Star Wars trilogy was released on dvd I watched it from beginning to end 15 times, paling in comparison to some CAG's who have watched the trilogy so many times more since its days on vhs.
Other notables: Incredibles-16 times, Pulp Fiction-10 times, Spiderman 1+2-14 times, and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie -12 times.

I used to be big on research of the Titanic, so I watched the last half of the movie (right after the nudie scene) 20+ times and I could probably quote the entire last half of the movie. I don't care much for the story, but I was fascinated with the sinking for a while.

Office Space about 8 times, Night At The Roxbury at least 15, Garden State at least 8, probably six for Eternal Sunshine, four for Minority Report, Butterfly Effect, and The Crow, countless times on Aladdin, Lion King, and The Ring..

At the theatre, I saw Incredibles three times..

I'm really not sure, since I don't keep track. I've definitely seen Fight Club over a half a dozen times, and Taxi Driver even more. Over the course of my life, probably seen E.T. and a League of Their Own more than 10 times apiece, since I had them thrust upon me as a child. :p
RoboCop on DVD, 40 times!
whoah man, what was that, a Lenten penance?? j/k....;)

I went to see Twelve Monkeys in the theater 16 times... I was just blown away by that movie and went everyday to analyze it. I bought the Laserdisc when it came out and watched it too many times to count...Then if that wasn't enough, I bought the DVD when it came out and I watch it at least 4 times a year or more. Also, I went to see Dark City in the theater 8 times...

I've watched many movies 5-10 times, but few more times than that. Included in the larger group would be:

12 Monkeys
Aladdin
American Beauty
American History X
American Psycho
Better Off Dead
Blade
The Crow
Desperado
Dogma
Donnie Darko
Emperor's New Groove
The Empire Strikes Back
Equilibrium
The Fifth Element
Fight Club
Fist of Legend
Hackers
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Jurassic Park
The Land Before Time
Leon
The Lion King
The Matrix
Mission Impossible
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Office Space
Pulp Fiction
Requiem for a Dream
Return of the Jedi
Road Trip
The Rock
The Sandlot
Se7en
Snatch
Spaceballs
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
Stargate
T2
Toy Story
The Usual Suspects
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
X2: X-Men United
Young Frankenstein

Bolded titles I've probably seen 15-20 times, in some cases even more.

Top Secret is fucking hilarious and its sad that I haven't met anyone thats watched the movie.

i am sick of people quoting it as well. It's a funny movie but it blew up too big, too fast. all the little church kiddies think its the best thing ever which aggrivates the heck out of me.

I've only seen a few movies over 10 times. Two movies that come to mind:

Drunken Master II (aka Legend of Drunken Master)
Shaolin Soccer

Mainly saw them several times because I would share them with friends, and after one of them saw (and loved it), they would tell someone else about it, and then I'd have to show them... and so on.

There are times that I have watched certain movie scenes hundreds of times (without getting tired of them). I'm pretty sure a lot of you have done this. Why not also share your "I've seen the (movie scene) from (movie title) 12,850 times!" stories?

On video:

The Usual Suspects (120 times in 120 days)

At the movies:

From Dusk til Dawn (11 times)

At the movies in consecutive viewings:

Nightmare on Elm Street 6 (3 times)

The movie scene that I have seen most would have to be Yoda's battle in Star Wars Episode II. I've always been a fan of Yoda, and when they finally digitized him....I'd say I have seen his fight scene at least 500 times. In fact i still watch it about 2 times a day now in anticipation of the next film. Another scene worth mentioning would be the Bride in Kill Bill Vol. 1 slaying O-Ren Ishii's Crazy 88's, I have seen that at least 100 times.

Well this is fun. I have seen these movies at least 50 times a piece

Star Wars IV
Star Wars V
Star Wars VI
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Dogma
Back to the Future 1,2,3
Scarface

I've probably seen Evil Dead 2 around 30-40 times. The camera work and Bruce Campbell's hammy-ass performance make it an all-time favorite of mine.

The Big Lebowski would be the closest after that. I've probably watched it 20 times or so.

I don't see that much movies and I don't see many movies multiple times like you'all. But here are a few movies that I have seen multiple times:

Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail (3)
Star wars IV, V, and VI (4)
The Crow (2)
La Bamba (3)
Kung Pow (3)
Clerks (2)
Chasing Amy (3)
Army of Darkness (4)

Well that's a week of your life you will never get back...

I've probably seen A Christmas Story about 200 times. My mom loves it and they play it about 12 times a day around Christmas.

Pretty much anytime I'm on my comp, I have a movie playing (ATM it's Master & Commander). Any movie I feel is worth owning, I watch it multiple times. The ones that stick out are:

Coen brothers (Raising Arizona and Fargo particularly)
GlenGary GlenRoss
Kevin Smith's films
Evil Dead
Cannibal
Countless cult movies
Richard Linklater's stuff

The list goes on...
