Motor Storm target render vs. gameplay comparison
Cant wait to hear CheapyD's impressions. Its definetally along the lines of... "You know... im not that impressed. It is fun. But it isnt... great."

Sort of what he says for every game.
Yeah, I hate the way Cheapy gives his honest impression of something

Much better to give us the Sony PR view "Yes this is the greatest game ever made as this video will go to prove"

I wonder if the Japanese get screwed on this, or the online component will be available via download.
Somehow, it seems unlikely that Sony will be able to pull that together.
Yea Red Steel did it ALL the time with prerendered shit. And they SAID it was real... (The sword fight. Were the guy took the sword and put it up to his neck. like he was playing it)

The motorstorm CG trailer was never said to be ingame...

You guys are just fucking dumb and thought it was.
DB, I love you, but man. You're posting Red Steel, perhaps the most universally shit on game at the Wii launch as Nintendo doing the same thing too? It's been criticized as looking below a Xbox game on several occasions well before launch.

Look, Motorstorm didn't look that great. It's an offroad racer that really would only appeal to a small section of gamers if it wasn't the first big post launch release for the PS3. Motorstorm wasn't and never will be a killer ap as much as Sony wants you to believe it is unless you think the ATV series is a killer ap as well. Most people don't. It looks like it'll be a good, not great title.

Motorstorm doesn't look great?
Have you downloaded the new build of the demo and played it at home?

You have to be joking, it's beauitful! And it's really not my kind of game at all, I hated the terrible demo of it at the store kiosks on their crappy LCDS. If I went by that, then yeah, it's a mediocre game.
But you have to play it for real before you can judge it like that, it's a really good racer. Gameplay and gorgeous visuals.

I'll have to agree. I don't like this kind of racer at all, but it is definitely impressive. I just don't know how well the game will stand up to extended play.

Online, ranked, games is sure to help with that.

Here's a screen from the Japanese retail game.
So, I just got back from Yodobashi Camera and saw display boxes for Motorstorm, as the game comes out tomorrow in Japan.

I guess I just assumed this game had online player or some kind of multiplayer...I assumed wrong.

According to the box, it's one player only!

EDIT: According to IGN, the US release will get online play. Still waiting for that GT4 online play though...
Ok, so before release they're promising 8 players online. That means we can expect 4 or less.

So does CheapyD have it in show number 55?

Ugh, I want to listen. But I think I should save it for my longgg ass mother fucking drive.

I have to drive by myself to San Francisco. . . 450 miles. Im going to want to horde up some Podcasts. Need around 8 hours worth.

You misunderstood me. When I said it didn't look that great, I meant the game didn't look that great as a total package. Visually it looks quite impressive. I just can see this game potentially disappointing a lot of people as off-road racer doesn't really grab a lot of people. Motorstorm could be totally awesome or it could be DOA 4, a game that will always have its defenders but will ultimately be perceived as mediocre by the general public. The kiosk demo did very little to eliminate those fears (I don't have a PS3 yet, I'll probably get one when they come into stock through Overstock though with the 10-15% deals and for VF 5). I really want it to be "Burnout" good, but other then the screens, I haven't seen anything in it that makes me think I'll be playing it as a Burnout.

DB: It's not in this weeks podcast.

Whats up with all the dickheads in here?

He mentions Sony and their obvious bullshit tactics, and we get people telling him to give up on life.

Sony f*cked people plain, simple and hard to get people to waste money on that polished turd... I'm surprised people are actually backing them up on this. Especially if you actually bought the thing.

Your sig reminds me of that simpsons episode where they go to remier wolfcastles yard sale and homer plays tetris to get the stuff in the car
:looking at dallow's picture:

wow, that is the best looking mud i have ever seen in a videogame lol!
Which is really the only important thing, isn't it :) Screw gameplay and innovation.
