Motorstorm 2 online problems

I'm having issues with MS: PR at the moment, whenever I try and go online it gets stuck on the "communicating with server" screen and eventually gives me an error saying that it could not connect to the PS Network server and asks whether I would like to retry, now at this point, no matter waht option I chose, the console locks up and I need to do a hard reset.

I know this is probably network related, but could it have something to do with a faulty disk? I mean the drive makes a horrible noise as it's stuck on the loading screen, as if it's trying to read the disk but it can't. Either that or my drive is failing, but even then it's fine playing other games like LBP and stuff.

Anyone else having the same issues or know what is causing it? Or even better, how to fix it?

Does this happen every time or was this just once? If it was just once, servers MIGHT be down. I never once had a problem.

I recommend checking to see (Under Network Connection lists), if you connection is Type 3 (It should be Type 2 or Type 1 will do). If it's type 3, some network configuration may need to be done.

Happens every time, at first I thought it was their servers but I haven't seen or heard of anyone with the same issue.

I know about the NAT Type thing and mine was type 2, however, now when I go into check the connection details it doesn't display anything, it just says "NAT: -", any idea what's causing that?

Issue is resolved, the PS3 had lost the NAT type causing the game to crash, a quick reboot of the router and the PS3 found that the NAT was type 2 and the game is working again. Thanks buddy.

Well, MOST issues connecting to online games (where most are having no problems) all comes down to the router and PS3 online connection, and that seems to have been the case (since NAT type wasn't being picked up)
