Saw Uncut Edition

I almost completely forgot about Land of the Dead, looks like it'll be a decent sized movie week next week, especially if BB delivers.

I'm definitely picking up Batman Begins: Deluxe Edition and He-Man Season 1.

Is that Superman the classic series with George Reeves? Might pick that up for my dad and give it to him for Christmas. That was his fave show as a kid.

Hmm... I'm hoping that Best Buy will have a deal with the Batman re-releases. I really only want Batman & Batman Returns. Maybe they'll have a Buy 2, Save $5 deal or something.

Thanks for the ads, TSD! :)
Is that a new version of the Big Lebowski?
Yeah. Damn it! I forgot about Big Lebowski. I have to get that, too.

Here's hoping that Best Buy comes through with a better price on Batman Begins. Amazon has the deluxe edition for $15.98, but I have some reward certificates I want to use if Best Buy even approaches that price.

C'mon BB for the deal on Land of the Dead...probably not, but....come on...

Oh, and the price on the Chucky Collection is good with the $5 gift card, unless you just want to wait for the 20% at DDD.

I was just wondering when Land of the Dead would come out. Now I have to decide whether to pick up Saw UC, Land of the Dead, the Amityville Collection, and Smallville next week.

Thanks a lot OP!

Saw: Uncut Edition? What a conveniently relevant name, and without having to make some other contrived descriptor at that. Maybe if they put back in any of Cary Elwes' good acting (what the hell happened to him?!), I'll double-dip on this one. I'm not liking what I've seen of Saw II, though.

speculation was that SAW:UC would come with a movie ticket to see SAW 2 :(, No double dippnig for me I guess unless it comes with a movie ticket

I'm also curious about Superman. Is this the old B&W series or the Adventures of Lois & Clark?

And what the crap is Batman vs. Dracula?
I'm also curious about Superman. Is this the old B&W series or the Adventures of Lois & Clark?

Superman is the old series with George Reeves
Batman vs Dracula is a new Cartoon movie based on the new cartoon in its third Season currently on the air.
So what are the additional features in the deluxe edition vs the regular edition?
There's a whole extra disc filled with great documentaries and such.

i already have chucky collection, amityville collection, nightmare so that's good on my wallet. i'm in need of a copy of land of the dead and saw: uncut. i've been waiting for the uncut version since the release of the original dvd.

Dang. I'll be spending at least $100.

Batman Anthology $49.99
Batman Begins $14.99
Land Of The Dead $17.99

And joblo states theres a Batman tv series dvd coming out that day as well. Anyone have any info on that like which show it is and how much itll be?

Assuming itll be over $20.00, yah I'll be spending at leaset $100. Most likely more.

:(

nm about taht BatMan TV show..guess its the old 1943 Serial movie coming to ddv that day. And I'm not really interested in that. So I guess thats good. Saves me a little money.

Hope I can come up with $100 next week though. I wanst expecting the Batman Anthology to be this much. These new 2 disc dvds better have alot of special features.

The SEs are pretty well packed from what I have seen. Deleted scenes, making ofs, audio commentaries, Dolby *AND* DTS 5.1 on all four, new remastered video from new HD masters, etc etc etc.... for $50 its a helluva steal. Count me in! :D
The deluxe edition of Batman Begins is on pre-order at Circuit City for $14.99 as well, making iit cheaper than the B&M offering:

http://entertainment.circuitcity.com/Movies/Movie.aspx?v_id=V+++289465&type=&prodid=WHV73216DVD

It comes with a free "book" as well. One thing to note, the standard widescreen edition is priced higher at $19.99.
hmm...i wanna pre-order it, but i need something else with it to make for free shipping....if i pre-order the land of the dead too (at $19.99 online right now), will i be charged a cheaper price if it lowers?

This is with regards to on-line price matching (which is the closest I could get to your question with their online help):

"Unfortunately, we are not able to provide price matches online, so please visit the closest Circuit City store to take advantage of our Price Guarantee."

It it was under the section containing info about competitors and Circuit City's own prices and getting the difference.

Shipping is only $1.25, the difference between the two Land of the Dead prices is $2.00. Honestly, I don't think either difference is enough to make or break the deal. I'm just going to pre-order Batman and pick up Land in the store.
to much for batman begins thats the most exspensive price ive seen it anywhere to bad.
the deluxe edition is 22.99 at every B&M i've seen

Looks like whomever does the price settings for the .com site screwed up once again as this happened with "Lemony Snickets" as well (the deluxe edition was accidently priced at what the regular edition was supposed to be). But I won't complain much as I just placed my order a moment ago. :D

I was a little annoyed when I first saw this price, since I had pre-ordered (along with another item to get the free shipping) from Amazon for $15.98 a few weeks back using a cert that was about to expire, but then I remembered that Amazon doesn't charge tax, which, in TN, more than makes up the difference. It is still $15.98 at Amazon, if anyone is interested:

Looks like I'm screwed. Being a horror fan means I become broke this time of year. First it was the Amityville special BB had 2 weeks ago, then I went out and got Unleashed this week for some kickass action, and now this week a slew of horror titles either got huge price drops or they are being rereleased. I dread next week when Season Two of Tales from the Crypt comes out.

very nice on the 3 for 20 deal at BB. I can't wait to see what the other titles are. Thanks again TSD

Wow, a big week.

Definitely going for the two new Disneys, to beef up my collection. The Tarzan one is better than the previous edition, and while the Emperor's New Groove seems to be a step down in terms of extras, it'll be so cheap that I won't mind. They're both $16.99 on BB.com, and once you factor in the $6 off, that'll be 14 apiece.

Batman and Land of the Dead are maybes for me, since I missed them both in theaters but I desperately want to see them. If BB has any Smallvilles in stock at that price, I'll bite.

Aw man, new Big Lebowski is cheap too. There goes more cash.

Thanks again TSD. At least now I can plan accordingly for thie raping my wallet will take.

I only found out about this release two days ago. I had almost given up hope for a 25th Anniversary DVD (it was only a few months ago that I did the math & research, and realized that if they were going to bother re-releasing it, it would be this year, but there was no information regarding a re-release), but I decided to check dvdaficionado again, and there it was (it had not been there in previous searches). It probably made my mother's year when she read the email about it that I sent. She is a huge Neil Diamond fan, and I had been trying to track down the previous release for her for a while, but it was prohibitively expensive on ebay. This release seems pretty sparse for a 25th Anniversary Edition, but hopefully it is at least a good transfer.

On a side note, since I am on the subject of 25th Aniversary DVDs, where is Flash Gordon (1980)? (First person to post "In the U.K." gets a swift kick in the arse. I know it was just released there). I certainly hope they aren't delaying it for the release of the new Flash Gordon movie (have they even started shooting? chosen actors? finished the script?).
Time to grab Mr Show
The time to grab Mr. Show was when each set was released, but, failing that, yes, this is the time.

TSD, can you tell us, is that the standard complete collection, or the exclusive BB giftpack? Any mention of what is in the giftpack? Oddly, BB.com shows the giftpack for $40 cheaper than the standard, but there aren't details (although the picture of the giftpack does indicate it includes all 3 sets).
